Were hoping to move our 110 year old house because of a street widening project. Weve been here 22 years so theres a bit of sentiment but we also hate to see another old home become trash. I dont think theres any way we could build a replacement for 60k. New construction is pretty much trash because of materials, the old growth wood in old homes is really what turns moving them a serious consideration. You do you though.

I would have tried filing bankruptcy before I let my home go. I wouldn’t call having $290 thousand dollars to spend on moving a house is not loosing it all that’s a shit ton of money an amount I probably never have in any bank account of my own. In my little town that would almost be enough to pay cash for the nicest house in town.
All the colors are ugly starting with all the outside colors the inside needs to be totally repainted it’s gonna be interesting to see how the house looks when everything is finished and final touches are done inside and out.

So when there goes the neighborhood you can jack up the house and pull the houses out and leave them with vacant Lots. So they don't destroy and burn down good homes. When the neighborhood goes bad he just remove all the houses and you leave them a bunch of vacant Lots interesting

I think them moving it via Boat made it a bit cheaper. I feel. If it had to be moved all the way through roads would be easy 100k+

Such drama - all the risks would have (should have) been assesed before moving the house. I would have just built a copy of the house on the new site.
