The Faber Castell watercolour markers work really well on watercolor cellulose paper but there's paper these markers absolutely hate - I've seen it already and I suspect that you had the same problem. I'd suggest you try the one you bought on a different paper with a different texture!
Thanks for that tip! @hessabinhuwaidn7525 also mentioned they had the same problem with it on certain papers. I've tried it on a few and it's quite unreliable! Works on some and not on others. I definitely prefer the Winsor & Newton watercolour markers because there's consistency across all surfaces.
Hmm, this is the first time I ’ve seen them behave like that. I’ve had them for several years, and they never fail me like other watercolor or even water based markers. Well, even Superman had a kryptonite.
Hahaha! I have tried it on different papers and it does behave slightly better. But decided, for now, not to get any more 💛👍🏼 not that I'm not tempted 😁
Yes pls ~ that would be interesting to see you do a video comparison with Acrylic Gouache & using matte medium with regular Acrylic paint… 👏🏻 (As it was a few months ago that you did this particular video, I thought I’d check your more recent ones that you’ve done since, but didn’t see a comparison video as yet?!) Also just wanted to ask you what brand & colour/shade of yellow gouache that you used to show us your new short brush ~ it looks lovely? 🖌️💛
Ooh, thanks for the reminder, I'll move it up the list a bit! I have unedited videos sitting in my queue 💛 ... That might have been Permanent Yellow Deep in the video. I did a gouache swatching video a while ago (updated one coming soon!) that will show you it, I think th-cam.com/video/vLPv9CQSPFo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S3_TffMRGawCJ6fH
@ awe thx for that… I actually think I’ve already watched that gouache swatching video of yours a while back, but will take another look & pay close attention to the yellows! 🙏🏻😃💛
Agree. It has to be watercolour papers due to the sizing in that paper. Water solubles work best when the paper is sized so the paint or ink can sit and disperse on top of the surface and not sink into the paper ✌🏼☺️
Yes 🤷🏼♀️ unusual must be in the binder in the paint/ink composition. Winsor & Newton are known for their high quality paints so makes sense they’ve made a more flexible usable product. Where Faber Castell are experts at drawing / dry media. So who knows 🤷🏼♀️ 😊✌🏼
So many new tools❤ I prefer to use watercolor light blue pencil for sketch instead of the non-photographic pencils. Nowadays scanners are so good and I can still see the blue mark under the sketch which I need to take out either photoshop 😅

What a gorgeous haul, those neocolours look fantastic, might have to pick up some of those shades myself ☺☺
Beautiful, aren't they?! I'm so looking forward to using them!
Golden mediums are so pricey! Lol. I got a clear gesso, small bottle and it was $44 CAD. The person ringing me thru even scoffed. 😅
They're so worth it though! I've never had any issues with them whereas with lower priced brands have sometimes had peeling and bubbling!

Great! I've added and changed a few colours and brands since then! 💛 Happy New Year!!
Nice video. Yes, I’d love to see a comparison and see if you can dupe acrylic gouache
On the list 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 and thank you for watching!
Hi - it’s the paper not the FC marker problem, I had the same problem with one of my Pith.
Oh interesting! I'll try it on some more papers! Thanks for the tip!!!

@RinN3 I find it interesting that the Winsor & Newton watercolour markers have absolutely no problem whatever the paper, but the Faber-Castell do!

Haha yes! It's a lovely colour nonetheless!

Yep, watercolour pencils are awesome for purpose too! 👍🏼 Thanks for watching! 😍
