One of my favorite memories from high school was when we played this song in band for the final concert of my senior year. I played the french horn at the time and Chaconne was by far my favorite to play! Had goosebumps the whole time, thank you for making this!!!!
I can not think of a simple way to improve your videos! it's high quality, diverse music, good editing and even quite a lot of them! the only thing you need now is more publicity, with which we, the viewers, can help.
This was really awesome! And, as good as it is (and all of it is superb), there are two sections (I feel) that REALLY stand out. Just take a listen to what he does @ 0:18 to 0:34, and again @ 4:12 to the end. The breath control, the quality & beauty of tone he conjures from the euphonium -- with those GORGEOUS chord changes -- is drop-dead awesome! And those basement notes -- WHOA!!! The icing is that last chord at the end, with his beyond-flawless intonation. This arrangement is definitely a winner!
Now that I've started teaching myself to record and layer music, I have a whole new kind of appreciation for this quality of work. The perfect intonation, the balance and blending, I'm amazed! Especially in balancing ocarina of all instruments. This is one of the highest quality music videos of its kind I've seen online besides expensive big companies, and the musicality can be lost in those vids. Tbh, you could use these vids to get a job in music production or something like that. Depends on what you want to do. Keep up the hustle ;)
I remember listening to you play the third movement of this suite with a similar instrumentation. Consider me just as amazed by your work on this one as the last! Great job as always Jordan. That fourth-valve/pedal range sounds almost like a tuba!
well damn man, your tone and articulation has made a marked improvement since the last video. Great stuff man, excited for mvt 2. Do the 2nd suite next :)
I love these videos. Man compared to your last video of the march your tone on the Euphonium has improved vastly. Great job and keep up the hard work man!
Just a couple small tips. 1) C is much easier to play in tune when you just use 4. 2) D is easier to play in tune when using 3. Just thought I would share this with you.
Thanks, the Cs you’re seeing as 1 and 3 are low Cs. The only fingering is 1,3, and 4. Ds with 3 are flat on my instrument, only really usable if it’s the 3rd of a major chord. You may have noticed that I have a tuning trigger operated by my thumb, so I use that to lower the pitch of Ds that I play with 1 and 2.
Nice, thanks for posting a little more often. I imagine you might have more time during summer? I got re-introduced to your you-tube channel (and became a Sub) through a posting on Umu's twitter page.
Are you considering adding a trombone to your arsenal? Because the added tone and presence would improve the quality quite so. Not that your quality isn't already amazing.
I play plenty of trombone, but it's not exactly what I wanted for these arrangements. One of my main reasons in playing Holst on these instruments is to show that two underappreciated instruments can play beautiful and serious music. I also tend to prefer the way conical brass instruments blend with ocarinas, but thank you for the idea!
Jordan Moore I see, well thank you for taking the time to respond and also, I just saw a few of other vids a found out you do play trombone! Love what you got going here, man. Very original and fresh! You've earned a subscriber my friend.
Thank you! Here's a list of the ocarinas and their makers: - Focalink Sopranino F - Rotter Soprano C - Focalink Double Soprano G - Rotter "Fairy" Alto C - Noble Alto G - Noble Bass C - Claudio Colombo Bass G - Claudio Colombo Contrabass C
genuine question since i don't play euphonium (percussionist): I see that there's this like extra valve or something that you are putting your left hand on. what exactly does that do?
Good question. That's the 4th valve on these types of euphoniums. Most professional model euphoniums look like this. It's purpose is to let you play lower notes and to let you play certain notes in tune more easily.
Euphoniums are so underrated :(
Outstanding arrangement. Lines come through even more cleanly than in the original.
Great job on the low register euphonium intonation and tone!
Thank you, that was definitely one of the biggest challenges in playing this!
I can’t believe what I’ve just listened to. Words can’t really describe how good and cool this is. I am shocked after that, wow
One of my favorite memories from high school was when we played this song in band for the final concert of my senior year. I played the french horn at the time and Chaconne was by far my favorite to play!
Had goosebumps the whole time, thank you for making this!!!!
same! I played clarinet, and had all the solos and stuff. I love Holst so much
Glad you liked it! And same here, I got to play the euphonium solos my freshman year of high school
+Magic Cake I played the 1st F Horn part on this. I loved it so much that I bought the full concert band score to it.
Same here! I played 2nd Oboe. The girl playing 1st is still today awesome, Dianne Lesser from Connecticut.
@JordanMooreMusic how hard are Ocarina’s to play? I just listened to one of your Ocarina arrangements and it made me think of a merry-go-round.
I can not think of a simple way to improve your videos! it's high quality, diverse music, good editing and even quite a lot of them! the only thing you need now is more publicity, with which we, the viewers, can help.
clickbait is a good way to get views also
Holst 1st Suite in E-Flat BUT YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHAT INSTRUMENTS IT'S PLAYED ON! Kinda like that, Dank Juice? ;)
yeah yeah thats pretty moist indeed
i found you momo
I see that high Bb ;)
Holy crap. This is a really really good arrangement.
One of the coolest recordings! Gorgeous.
This was really awesome! And, as good as it is (and all of it is superb), there are two sections (I feel) that REALLY stand out. Really cool work, I wouldn't have imagined it working on this combination of instruments, but you've definitely made it work!
Great job! Holst is so interesting, and your instrumentation is such a fresh take.

You have really good tone in the upper register on euphonium, especially on that high b-flat, Great job with the whole suite.
Played this by accident and then couldn't stop listening. Still smiling now that its done.
I remember listening to you play the third movement of this suite with a similar instrumentation. Consider me just as amazed by your work on this one as the last! Great job as always Jordan. That fourth-valve/pedal range sounds almost like a tuba!
Your low register on euphonium is so beautiful with such a nice tone. Great playing.
This is one of my favorite pieces we ever played in high school. The ocarinas sound so nice for the woodwind instruments. Amazing as always!
this whole piece is just pure euphoria. thank you for making such a beautiful arrangement!
Good job with this great Elvis tune! I’m sure he would be proud if he were alive today!
This made me smile
I played this with my high school wind ensemble for the winter concert. Euphonium
Awesome !!!!!
Thanks! :)
Wow excellent job! I can't wait for Intermezzo to come out :D
I MISS THIS SONG SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A-MA-ZING. Couldn't think of a better version than the original arrangment for military band, but you certainly proved me wrong. Flawless. Hat's off!
You have such an amazing quality going on man! You prove anyone wrong who says the ocarina is "not a real instrument" or anything in that direction.
this is so incredibly inspiring oh my goodness!! your tone and intonation are astounding!
WOW sounds incredibly
danke für die Sendung
this is so good, you're killing the game king
That was beautiful
Superbe mélange de sonorités !
Extraordinary!!!!
This is incredible
well damn man, your tone and articulation has made a marked improvement since the last video. Great stuff man, excited for mvt 2. Do the 2nd suite next :)
I love Holst! This is amazing!
Pretty much in awe of this. Thank you!
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. You are a genius.
that was beautiful!! Keep it up and allso please complete the Suite!
Wow those high B flats 😭😍
Wow this is beautiful!!
Very impressive, loved it !
Great arrangement! Your intonation is impeccable.
Thank you very much!
What a creative take on this inspiring piece. Thank you.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. Hoping to take on Second Suite or perhaps Jupiter in the future.
I didn't know i needed this until now
This. Is. Fantastic. That´s just a brilliant performance and I love this :D
Brilliant!!
Amazing.. you are very talented. Great sound especially on Euphonium.
Thank you so much for this, I just played this on timpani for a band camp. Great job dude, this is awesome!
let me tell you , you are amazing !! Keep going !! good work
Yes! More of this. :-)
This is awesome dude. Keep this great stuff up!
Funny I’ve been out of school 6 years now but I can still clearly remember every section and phrase of First Suite. Mind you I was a percussionist
I love these videos. Man compared to your last video of the march your tone on the Euphonium has improved vastly. Great job and keep up the hard work man!
The Jordan Moore Ensemble ft. Jordan Moore
Great as usual Jordan! One of these days you need to teach me how to get a good tone on Euphonium!
Absolutely, and you should help me out with clarinet and sax too!
Of course dude! You should come to PAX West ;)
woah this is very cool!
That is a combination of instruments that I didn't find likely, but there is a duet between a tuba and a piccolo in the second suite in f.
Haha saw you post the score of this on Facebook 😉 keep it up dude! You rock 🙂
You did a magnificent job, Jordan. I adore this tune. Please keep up the excellence. :)
Amazing

This was awesome, just subbed👍
Bravo

Thank you!
Any monkey can play the trombone, the real challenge is to add a Wagner Tuba into the mix.
You do excellent work! If you take requests, have you ever considered doing an arrangement of Shepard's Hey by Percy Grainger?
Love this performance! Your instrumentation and playing ability is amazing. What kind of euphonium do you play on?
Malin Barnes Thabk you! I play on a Yamaha 642.
Uh hi this is incredible
AMAZING! Such solid sound. What Euphonium do you have?
Thank you! My euphonium is a Yamaha 642.
Jordan Moore I thought so. Dr. Frey had one I believe
Hi this is great what do you use to record your videos (which mic) and what do you use to make the grid of videos?
Ben Pellow Thanks! My mic is an Audio Technica AT2020 USB model, and I do all of the video and audio editing in Sony Vegas Movie Studio.
Where do you get your ocarinas from? Great video!
Thank you! Here's a list of the ocarinas and their makers:

you should do nihanboshi
Hey Jordan what software do you use to make your videos?
I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio for all of the mixing, syncing, and video editing.
Wait
There’s ANOTHER ocarina and Euphonium player?!
*(Flashbacks to honors band...)*
