    Ohhhhhh this is just imPOSSIBLY lovely! And I'm afraid we'll have to beat up whomever so trollishly hit a "dislike" for this. There's just no possible justification for it. . . nope nope nope. . .

    Woah, the sound you were able to pull off after the intro honestly sounded like a string section. Amazing playing!

    Danse Macabre was one of my favorites in high school so many years ago. I attended a music and art magnet HS, thanks for the memories.

    Your precise runs and consistently warm tone lends itself well to imitating woodwinds (especially a flute) and the lush sound of strings. This is one of my favourite pieces, and you've definitely it justice!

    This is fabulous. Thank you. I have just bought a copy of the sheet music for your arrangement of Asuka's Song. If this arrangement had been for sale I'd have bought it too.

    can you do a video about the moving of the tuning slides and the extra valve please? i don't see many using those and don't understand how to implement them. Any Ska Music in the works? :D enjoy all your vids and wish I could play euph like you! 0_o so talented!

    • @jongarcia7186
      @jongarcia7186 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You mean playing in tune? lol

    • @jongarcia7186
      @jongarcia7186 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because that's why you move slides when you play. In fact, a lot of professional musicians have to repair their tuning slides all the time due to damage cause by moving them all the time--- especially tuba players, LOL

    • @JordanMooreMusic
      @JordanMooreMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, so like John said moving slides helps you play in tune. It lets you adjust it with the slide rather than with your embouchure. On euph, I have a thumb trigger that lets me move my main tuning slide, and on tuba I move the first valve slide. The extra valve your talking about might be the 4th valve of the euphonium. It lets you play certain notes more in tune and also lets you play lower. And pretty much all professional model euphoniums have a fourth valve that's operated by the left hand like mine.
      And no new music yet unfortunately. Very busy with teaching, but hopefully I'll have more time to work on stuff soon.

    Incredible performance, you really brought this piece to life (and for quite a difficult instrumentation to arrange for too!) I was wondering if there was a chance I could purchase the score from you? There's a Tuba Quartet at my university that would like to perform this potentially for ITEC.

  • @DJyouza
    @DJyouza 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why did you change the tuning of the tuba's first key towards the beginning of the phrase?

    • @JordanMooreMusic
      @JordanMooreMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The purpose of that is to adjust the natural intonation tendencies of the instrument without having to use my embouchure to do that. I can simply pull out for any notes that use the 1st valve that are sharp for example.
