Ollie is great. I actually interviewed him on radio in 2006 after the Currie Cup final for the first time. I kept his number and then called him last year for Front Row Rugby. Firstly I was surprised the number was still working, but he remembered me and now I've had him here twice plus we've had a few chats in between. He really is a top bloke and great value as a guest. What a talented sportsman as well! Glad you enjoyed this one, Sean.

Ollie Le Roux and Jonah Lomu are the only players that made love rugby and ended up playing well I looked up to Ollie as I was playing loosehead prop and Jonah for the love of rugby

So the reason I've had Mark and Ollie (and the next three) is because they were the Top 5 most popular videos in the first year of the channel. I thought it would be great to get them back for a special Curie Cup/Super Rugby series. Tiaan I think was number 8 overall if I recall. So he's not going to feature this time around but I very much like the idea! (As you can tell from my colours!)
I've dealt with Ollie several times over the years. I only have good things to say about him. I'd put John Smit v Ollie down to a clash of personalities.

Back in the day when Rugby started in SA, all Provincial Rugby teams had stripped Rugby Jersey's similar to WP, everytime a team won a Match the Jersey would lose a stripe! Wonder why Western Province still has so many stripes 😂.
