Guys! Don't forget the part of each trait that says "passive" means those stats get added to you even if you don't have them equipped with your 5 slots. So over time it's important to complete most of them.
Helpful info bud, not just for new players. In my time in middle earth so far, I've noticed many players fail to realize the importance of leveling all virtues besides their main landscape/group ones, since they still get the passive bonuses even when not equipped. This typically means more passive morale, physical and tactical mastery. Another solid guide bud!
Virtues are not linear, increasing a Virtue from - say - Level 56 to Level 57 provides more benefit than increasing a Virtue from Level 24 to Level 25. So once you get the five Virtues you want to slot up to Level 2 or higher (you cannot slot a Level 0 Virtue), focus on bringing the most important Virtue (the one you have in the left-most slot) to maximum before increasing the others at all. Unlike some other things in the game, experience spent on a Virtue can never be refunded and then reallocated. Once you get a Virtue up to a certain level, it's that level (or higher) forever. So do put some thought into where you want your Virtue Experience to go. On the other hand, when you're just starting out, it can be hard to know which Virtue or Virtues are best - don't worry about it! You'll earn more Virtue XP all the time and because even unslotted "passive" Virtues add to your stats (albeit not as much as slotted Virtues) it never completely goes to waste. Every character gets two trait configurations. A third can be purchased using Mithril Coins; this is per-character, not account-wide. Since Class Traits can be respecced and reallocated at any time for nothing but game gold and Virtues can be reslotted at any time at no cost at all; and purchasing a third trait configuration costs 100 Mithril Coins which is around $10 real-money value; you need to carefully consider whether a third trait configuration is worth the expense. Maybe for your main character if you like to fill 3 different roles in group play, otherwise... probably not for most players unless you have a very large amount of Mithril Coins accumulated for some reason and nothing else special to spend them on.
Just back after a year break with my level 26 champion. SO helpful to watch this. But if I have old virtue traits that I think I goofed, can you respec like traits? I know VIP often give virtue xp in the little daily gifts. Glad I watched!
Hello! Thank you for this very helpful video. I'm actually a returning player after having not played for many years so I forgot a lot of the systems. I really wish the game did as good of a job as you did with explaining virtues. When I returned I was surprised when I saw the "This virtue is capped" warning after I completed a deed. I hadn't played the game and so long I didn't realize that they had moved the virtue trait to the third tab on the trait window. XD I only wish I could have seen your video sooner! Haha! So thank you very much for this very newbie-friendly video.
That's why I am here! Feel free to join our discord me and many others can help with info. Also, That's one of the reasons my channel is here! Glad to help! :D Thanks for nice comment! Also, You liking and sharing the video will for sure help others so they can see it "sooner" too. haha! Thanks! :D
Hey, I know it’s an older video but hopefully someone can respond. I just want to make sure I understand something correctly before I get too far ahead of myself. The top 5 boxes on the virtue page are for ACTIVE virtues (giving me the benefit of that particular virtue ie; +will +finesse etc) and those that are not slotted in those boxes will only give me the benefit of the passive increases. Is this correct? Thanks in advance
Yep you are correct! 😎 👍 The passive is always applied from every single virtue on your character. The active bonuses are only on the five you slot. And of course the active are much larger bonuses because of that.
Just came back to the game. I played on Crickhollow beforee and would like to join your Kin. Ihave lost most of my sight and would have a problem grouping. Charecter's name is Phixer.

Another Virtue video ftw! 🎉
Thank you for clarifying this and your guides have been really helpful. This is only day 3 for me it’s been a great resource for me.
I'm really glad you're finding it useful. Thanks for comment!
