  • Big Green Egg Ribeye Steak Time!!! Who doesnt love a good steak? I wanted to show how I reverse sear a thick cut Ribeye steak on the Big Green Egg. Doing it this way lets you add a little smoke to the steak and it really goes well with Ribeye. The Big Green Egg does a wonderful job of allowing you a reverse sear method.
    Make sure you get a Thick cut steak. Letting the steak sit uncovered in the fridge for a day also brings out great beef flavor and helps create a nice sear.

    I always recommend finishing it off on the stove because of how long it takes to get the grill to 600

    Don’t mind the charred haters! That thing looked perfect on the inside. Only thing you need to do is get some raised grill grates cut for large bge and that will protect the steak and give it better grill marks at the same time. I finally broke down and bought a set, they are working great, got mine off amazon.

      Oh and another tip, I’ve noticed that when I’m using chunk wood like that, if I use big pieces for smoking, the open up the grill to let it get hotter, the wood flares up a lot faster than just the straight up lump coal does, so I have been using smaller pieces so they are usually gone by the time I open up the grill to high heat. I only need smoke for a few mins anyway.

    Amazing results with the big green egg and ribeye! Ironically, the cheese and the ribeye are the most healthy foods. Not the potato. 😅

      It's not healthy. It's delicious and fine to eat from time to time, but charred meat is carcinogenic.

    If there as much "steak Juice" as was was shown in the video, the steak wasn't rested enough, right ???

    • @boomstickbbq47
      @boomstickbbq47  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      aquiariots72 rested for 10 min. Reverse sear makes it so juicy. The egg in general makes the juiciest steak ever.

    Not a fan of smoking a ribeye and i actually think it ruins a good cut of beef. Salt pepper and reverse in oven throw on piping hot skillet, grill, or egg in that order. Smoke is for slow cook on tough beef pork or chicken.

    • @boomstickbbq47
      @boomstickbbq47  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Casey Skipper beauty of an egg is you can use it how you like. The pan method can be good also.

    "Excellent dinner for my wife and I." Excellent dinner for my wife. Excellent dinner for I. See how that sounds wierd? Don't know why people can't figure out when to use "you and me" versus "you and I." Oh, well. Just bury that beside the adverb.

      @@michaelg3407 ; How can i describe color to the blind? You didn't offer a single argument why, just merely reduce your self a tasteless rather charred rebuttal. The GREEN EGG is not your average grill, it requires knowledge and skill. For starters you need to drop your attitude. then I would recommend to study this course: th-cam.com/video/ajM8npMocx4/w-d-xo.html One more time friend; to burn the steak is NEVER a good idea. Oh well...

    • @michaelg3407
      @michaelg3407 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jose Rodriguez thanks for the advice breh. Here’s my point...was there some char aka burnt spots on the steak? Yeah. There was. But prob 90% of the steak looked just right. I’m personally not a fan of adding smoke to my steak, just not my style...I just do a straight reverse sear with lump (on my Big Green Egg). But I think your comment about him not knowing what he is doing was off the mark. Just my opinion. Carry on my friend.

      Like music, wine, beer, and everything else we have options of liking it our own way, steaks are no different. Perhaps he likes a harder char on his steak than you do. Doesn't mean he burnt it, or doesn't know what he's doing, just means it's not to your liking. Lucky for you, you're not paying for, or eating his steak.
