I always feel a little sad when I see abandoned places in ruins like this. To think that once this was a lively place, full of people making memories: A family with kids who loved playing in the play place while mom and dad enjoy a few moments to themselves, A little league team having a celebratory McDonald's lunch, a group of teen boys and girls going out on a group date, a group of senior citizens, enjoying a McDonald's breakfast with coffee and conversation, and so on. If the walls of these places could talk, they would have so many stories to tell. Memories that will last long after the physical building crumbles away.

This is one some would consider to be a generation 3 McDonald's building. (1967-1979) these were when they implemented the 2nd drive thru window, a more modern design for the time, and the iconic roofing that continued till the shoebox design took over.

The walls are solid, so a new roof would make it usable again. I've seen worse damage to block or brick buildings. My girlfriend's family in high school had their block house burn while they were at a Christmas party. 90% of the roof was gone, and most of the interior was gutted. I was in the 11th grade at the time. I helped them rebuild it after school, and on the weekends. The first part was to clean out everything that couldn't be reused. then build a new roof. Then the floors were repaired, and new studding. We wired it, insulated it and dry walled it. It was during the summer break from school by the time we finished. It would have been faster to ear it down and start over, but that would have doubled the cost.

I feel like that rubber matting on the patio is indicative of them having an outdoor playground, at one point. Like, the kind that was one big self-contained unit, made of big, shiny plastic. Added years after the original building opened. But the interior literally blew me away. Not because of the condition it was in. But because I'm a child of the 80s, and I DEFINITELY remember eating at McDonald's restaurants that looked like this, when I was a kid. I remember the paned windows, the wood, and even the wallpaper with the houses on it! What a true blast from the past, seeing that late 70s/early 80s aesthetic! Literal core memory unlocked! Still looks as bad as when me and Parker Explored it, one thing by the old playground they had a time capsule sign by one those posts. Kind of curious that they have in there. Definitely grew up eating in those types of Mcdonalds, the good old days.

That is indeed a party room! I know a McDonalds where that room was "repurposed" as a dining room, but still had the walls and old McWorld friends!

It be great to know when it was built. Perhaps there is a building permit that can be searched from a database available to the public at recorder of deeds or something. Provide some great context. Some of these McDonald’s are 2nd generation and are built right next to an earlier version.
    Great job. Nostalgia for sure.

Wow. I'm guessing that's been closed for many years. I do not like the new McDonalds at all. The commercials were good the food was good. The 90s were a great time. Miss it fiercely. Thanks Wallie!

It reminds me of the McDonald’s in Mercer, PA before they shut down. Almost as dilapidated as it is, too! I can only imagine what the inside of it looks like today!

Wallie I was watching this video beside my wife while she was watching tv and I caught her watching the video also and I told her since you went inside that you would say you was there to take pictures and video you wouldn’t take nothing just leave footprints after she heard you say that she said I’ve watched to many of your videos to know what you would say before you said it lol. Thanks for the videos you give us to enjoy watching but yes I did grow up with these kind of McDonald’s I could just see Ronald McDonald sitting on a park bench. You didn’t mention the label scar but it was very vivid this McDonald’s was in bad shape. You and Kayla stay awesome.

Where I live, the McDonalds we have had the red roof until just a couple years ago! I miss the way it used to look before they renovated it. Now, it’s boring and has gone downhill.

Wow, this is an old mcds. Ive worked at 8 different ones in Canada. Strange set up too. Never see one designed like this on the outside with that patio and no umbrellas. With those register monitors and wall tiles, id guess 1970's.

I had many birthday parties at that mcdonalds growing up in the 70s and 80s. If I remember correctly it had a carousel room for the birthday parties. I spent a great deal of time in the playground there.

That is one rotting, ugly McDonald's since it was closed. I watched another video of it by another guy exploring these vacant facilities, and just like he said, it's in bad enough condition that demolition is the only answer. According to property records, this one was built in 1981. Closed about late 2006 or 2007 when a newer McDonald's was built half a mile away. The interior looks like it's original with minimal to no changes, and older stores prior to 1987 - they had metal outdoor playgrounds modeled after McDonaldland characters and a special room for kids' birthday parties and other events; and then 1987 and later was when they went for the indoor PlayPlace with plastic tubes and ballpits and integrated children's parties in that area as well. So, it would have been actually over 15 years since this one closed.
