    Certainly, that restaurant was in a Rococo style of the 18th century, only 1000 years off. 800s would be Romanesque and there are very few examples of that left. You might see in Ravenna, Italy.

    The reason the burger always tastes the same is because during the founding of McDonald, the franchising rules stated that ingredients used in everything has to be the same. Same brand, same place, same food.

    • @thefelonattorney
      @thefelonattorney ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Actually at one time the oldest current McDonald’s. I am from so cal and family is from Downey so very very familiar with that McDonald’s. In the 1970’s and 80’s the McDonald’s wa based on a franchise agreement with the brothers and not ray croc and was on private property not owned by McDonald’s. So they didn’t have items after ray croc bought the brothers out like the Big Mac or Chicken McNuggets. It was very odd to say the least. But as a kid it was funny no inside dinning.
      Also used to live in Salzburg. Great tourist town and so funny to say that isn’t Mozarts house to tourists. And their is a good McDonald’s next to Mozarts house in Salzburg.

    I watched the McDonald’s documentary on Netflix. When he said that the founder was Ray Croc I immediately thought back. The whole documentary showed how it was created by two men who met Ray later in McDonald’s time as a restaurant. Ray helped them franchise out the company so they could get more brand deals and make more money. But Ray had a dream and thought the brothers were standing in the way and not allowing him to make McDonalds the biggest fast food chain in the world. He then convinced them to sell him the company and gave the 100 PERCENT equity, but he had didn’t give them even a penny. The older brother had a heart attack when he got the phone call that there was nothing they could do to get back the company. I hope some of you found this information helpful so you know the full context about the “founder”.

      Thats so common in history: Steve Jobs and Bill Gates stole the GUI idea from the Xerox Labs, because they were so stupid to show and explain them all. George Lucas stole his whole Star Wars idea from the french Valerian Comics down to the look of the starships and characters, and I could go on and on. People made a shitload of money from others ideas. Same happened to me, but an NDA that I signed (because I am stupid and trusted people) prevent me from telling you.

    Mistake: this is NOT the oldest restaurant in the world (Guinness records): Restaurante Botín in Calle de Cuchilleros, Madrid, Spain was opened in 1725 by a French cook called Jean Botín and his Asturian wife at the beginning of the 18th century with the intention of working for a nobleman of the Spanish Royal Court. Today the restaurant is run by the third generation of the Gonzalez family, Antonio and Jose Gonzalez. Located in the heart of Madrid near the Plaza Mayor it now has four floors which retain the original 18th-century interiors as well as the original firewood oven.

Sorry Spain, you have lost and sorry for those who made research for Guiness, do not give a sh.... about it. The food is also fantastic there. Again, I was there myself.

    Ketchup, Mustard and white Architecture drew people to the restaurant subliminally.
    The wrapper used to be like semi transparent parchment paper with a blue ink printed Mc Donald burger boy trademark. 35c for a hamburger. And big steak fries and soda. Plus the cold milk shakes were with real ingredients and burgers were very hot and tasty! You could smell the aroma as a bag of McDonald sat on the floor of the car. And real potato fries, not like french fries. So much charbroiled taste. My Dad took us to one in Des Plaines IL before we went to visit Mom’s family in Ohio. At that time only other restaurants were the Waterfall Restaurant and Big Boy Restaurant. Or Golden Bear Family Restaurant.

Those are the better days of McDonald’s menu when they actually had salads and yogurt, bagel sandwiches, etc. Now you can’t even find a grilled chicken there at least in the area where I live. I feel like the McDonalds that is in Vista, California is the OLDEST McDonalds because I remember eating there when I was a kid!! And that place is STILL AROUND today!! Crazy! But cool because I have good memories of playing there in the playground when I was a kid!

    Wow, I can't believe you got to dine at the world's oldest restaurant! 😮 That's like a culinary time travel adventure! 🍽💫 Your storytelling and the way you describe the food and atmosphere made me feel like I was right there with you. The history behind this place is so fascinating. Did the flavors live up to the centuries-old reputation? I'm dying to know what your favorite dish was! Keep these amazing food adventures coming. 🌍🍷👏

    Literally just watched “The Founder”, and the founder of McDonald’s stole the idea about the ‘Golden Arches’ and the ‘Speedie System’, did A LOT of exploits for the sake of money. I don’t know how true this is, but he left his wife for someone else as well.
    …yeah, turns out he was a corporate jerk to the OG inventors of the first ever McDonald’s.
    The movie was actually pretty alright, but old man Kroc was bit of a crook in legitimate fashion.

    • @daimpressionz6248
      @daimpressionz6248 ปีที่แล้ว

      From the way the movie depicted Kroc: his mindset was basically if he sees something he wants, he’s gonna have it and do everything he can to get it” type of mentality .

    the world's oldest restaurant is in spain, Madrid, and its called Sobrino de Botín, has actually the record and the title. That place was a tavern not a restaurant. A restaurant or other eating house is a business that concentrates on selling meals and may or may not be licensed to sell liquor for consumption on the premises. A tavern, on the other hand, is primarily licensed to sell liquor for consumption on the premises and it may or may not also serve meals.

    Meanwhile, Restaurante Botín in Madrid, Spain, has probably been through a few leases. Founded in 1725, it's recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest restaurant in the world. Its oven has been burning for ovwr 300 yeara.

    St. Peter Stiftskulinarium is not the oldest "restaurant" in the world as the vary first restaurant did not exist until 1765. St peter may of been a "Inn" between the 800's to late 1700's but was never a restaurant during this time. Same with any other "restaurant" that predates 1765, they were nothing more then Inn's that offered food.

    Technically the "oldest" restaurant would be even older than the one he went to, because a restaurant is simply a place where you can purchase food.

    Wow! You know how to have fun! If I was in Vienna, I’d wear my tuxedo for dinner and above all, go to the Vienna Philharmonic! Just seeing the oldest restaurant on earth, following the oldest restaurant in the States would be so much fun. Seeing the oldest Mickey D’s shows how the chain has evolved from a very simple building to elaborate structures as the chain has grown. Just keep on doing what you’re doing as it’s really cool and entertaining to see all this.
