Wow I can't believe that this one closed in 2000 I remember going to this one as a kid 😕 I always wondered what it looked like now but I would never go in, knowing my luck I would meet people in there that I wouldn't want to meet.
I definitely love these videos! Although I think it's too funny 13:03 shows up on the wall as you're talking about giving urban explorers a bad name. lol What's sad is now the Kmart building has spent over half its life closed up.
Dude, Not Gonna Lie. I've been Subbed for awhile now. I never watched your videos until last week. Now I can't stop watching them!, Keep up the good work 💪
0:50 you can see where its letters for the "Big K" were on its facade. It closed like right after it became Big Kmart then, because they were converting those back in the late-90's, and this closed in 2000.
Oh! Good point! I completely forgot about that! Sketchy people are typically not only violent but violent people do typically live in abandoned buildings like this. Not only that, you have no clue what kind of lab you might uncover. Be VERY CAREFUL when inside these abandoned buildings. Even if there are no violent people inside now, that doesn't mean that there won't be tomorrow. And, even then, the statubachus mold known as black mold can leave you in the hospital. And, the ceiling could cave in at any time. Then of course is the obvious. Have you ever been in the building before? So, you have no clue what the floorplan or layout is and I doubt that the emergency exits still work. So, you may not be able to exit in an emergency. And, are police and fire fighters available if something goes wrong? ALWAYS USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM WHEN ENTERING ABANDONED BUILDINGS. And, always bring something that you can use to protect yourself in the event that you run into a sketchy person and bring a first aid kit. Upon the first sign of mayhem, it's time to leave.
The Kmart that I worked at for 3 years it was my first job, they just put in the paper (yes the news paper) that they are closing! It’s been a sad sad day.
Great video, I liked how you found abandoned cars and trucks in the auto center, wild. Thanks for sharing and posting this video, take care, Stay Awesome
Just found out our Kmart in Chambersburg PA is closing in mid December 2019. It opened in 1974 and it literally never changed, I was in it yesterday and it was like stepping back into 1978. I will explore it when it looks like this someday.
Something oddly fascinating to me about abandoned buildings like these places once had so many people either working or just shopping and now it’s just a time capsule stuck in whatever time the place closed
I hope none of the cats ventured into this abandoned place. I'm a cat person! Otherwise, good find. I love how your channel are very respectable with all places. You got my support and respect!
Awesome you finally got to filmed that one thanks to Journey with Jay! look like that Kmart became an kitty mart with all the cats running around outside, likely those are feral cats that are hanging around.

I worked at this store long before it became a Kmart. It was called Big N (Neisner) at that time and I worked in stereo/record department. It was 1977 because I remember the flood of customers coming in to buy Elvis albums!!
While Jay's video is great with the creepy music, this is byfar the most thorough video done on this property and likely the best video this place will ever get, ya gotta wonder what this place looked like when it was in operation, there is virtually no trace of its former tenants. Thanks for taking a chance and seeing this one. Great job as always.
That is amazing. This video is unbelievable. Look at the ceiling! All of the ceiling tiles are gone...most likely from the ceiling tiles falling from out of place from the weight of the ceiling tiles collecting water. I doubt the light fixtures still work. At this point, this Kmart location could probably never be used again and the only option now is to demolish the building. Years of abandonment and structures just don't mix. They just don't mix.
While you were up this way you should've checked out the abandoned Redner's Warehouse Market in Kingston/Edwardsville. It's in the same plaza as a Kmart that was flooded by the Susquehanna River. It was flooded all the way up to the Kmart sign on the front of the store in 2011 and they STILL re-opened it while the Redner's and any other businesses besides Long John Silver's opted to stay closed. That plaza contains one of the only TWO Kmarts left in Northeastern Pennsylvania unless you wanna trek all the way to Wind Gap, which is south of Stroudsburg.
@@journeywithjay I don't know if there's any way to get into the former Redner's or not though. I DO know that there's another abandoned Kmart in Endicott, NY that flooded.
