Another unexpected drop from iRacing, we now have the Nürburgring winning Ferrari 296 GT3!
It drives like a prototype with all the front end downforce it holds! I can definitely see this being a competitive car when the setup shop guys get their hands on it!

The 296 GT3 is a stunner, love the look of the car. It's actually making me reconsider picking up my membership again. If iRacing ever gets a hold of the SUPER GT license, and they run GT500 + GT300 races with these cars im a goner.
Hey there Balenci! I absolutely agree, when IRacing announced it, it came as a surprise but a very good surprise!! Hahah that may be sooner👀 after getting the Super Formula license, I could see the Super GT series being next thing on the list!

Awesome review Denz, just what I wanted to know! Still torn between my main team the Merc Gt3 or now the new flash Ferrari 296 as my 1st GT3 purchase.
I appreciate it so much Sixx!! They both great cars! The AMG has had a lot of patches made to it! When it came out originally, it was super dominant, so the developers nerf’d the hell out of it, and only now is starting to finally feel easier to drive again since they rebalanced it’s aero and torque curve!!

@@amgdenz yeah, I loved the AMG when I started to do GT3 races... And then came this ONE update and it was undrivable for me...

Being new to the simulator, can I Test both the Mercedes & 296 before purchasing?
Hey Sixx! You can test all the cars except from the ones of the newest season! So you can test drive the AMG without buying it, but the Ferrari isn’t on the test drive site because it’s new! If I was you I’d get the Ferrari first because there’s a C or D class series called Ferrari fixed which you can compete in to get your Road License up! Where as the AMG I think the GT3 races might be a C or B, so at least with the Ferrari you get better value for money because you can run it in more series!

Well, for me it is way to understeer with the iRacing setups... I hope PDS can fix that.
It drives much better in ACC (wich I don't really like)
Hi there Waedy! I was saying this exact same thing the other day on stream too! The downforce feels good in the high speed corners, but in the low speed corners it feels a bit heavy and understeerish like you mentioned! I reckon the setup guys will find a way dial out the understeer… and when that happens… I think we’ve got a killer👀😏😂 But yeah I agree with your ACC comments too! I used to love ACC, it was my first sim, but these latest physics upgrades made it the driving experience feel weird to me! It’s like there’s a deadzone in the wheel or the force feedback gets really light! Do you get that when you try it? I wanna give Automoblista a chance soon!😏
