Never owned a Gibson, always been a fender man... but I've watched so many of these videos with Mark, and I finally get the appeal! Who knows I might even buy one!
Jack White is so fuckin cool. Off and on over the last decade he has easily become one of my all around favorite musicians of all time! A true musical renaissance man, Jack is the real deal...✌️✌️✌️
I did a show in the infamous blue room there with a hip hop artist a few years ago. Pretty sure Jack is never letting a hip hop artist there again. Lmao. I was so nervous in the green room seeing how people were behaving around all of the trinkets and equipment
Samson Kirkpatrick - gold. At the first show we did I asked him what year his guitar was and he goes, “oh I’m not sure, Leo Fender gave this to me in 1956.” Haha. Oh, you don’t say...
Man, Rogério Duarte (the guy who made the art cover for the first Caetano Veloso's album, the Pink Psychdelic one who appeared all over this video) must be very proud to see his art stamp all over the Third Man Records and in the Gibson TV... Listen to Caetano Veloso's The Pink Psycodelic Album! It's Awesome!
Ndid I see that the cutter head was an old Westrex, aka Western Electric? Very cool that they can and do recording, the mastering and then cutting the lacquer. That’s why everyone who loves music, loves Nashville.
They do release classic albums and performances to at TMR. I recently bought The Stooges lastever show with Dave Alexadra and also a really cool package to comemerate Trout Mask Replica. And you canbuy this stuff on line (im in UK). Reasonable prices too.
That Elephant Head was sold to Jack by the American Pickers.. He did a good hustle to get a good price with a photo booth trade-in IIRC.. Jack is a shrewd mofo lol..
A really fascinating episode. Thanks very kindly. Would not have known or seemed out as not a Jack White follower. Now if we could just eliminate the word “iconic”.
I think he has a record store here in Detroit using the same name where they also have small gatherings but it's been there awhile. I heard it is a nice place but they probably wouldn't lat us play there. No worries though as our drummer is not allowed in the US.
It would be great if Gibson could flex it’s strong arm to push out the “battle of the bands” sharks that are preying on the feast of talent here in Nashville. I’m disinfranchied by all of the fraudulent “promoters” that disappeared when my guys clearly won the battle of the bands.
"We only see our own label records" and the goes on to tell how they reissue old records from other lables I'm not sure he knows what words mean, but it looks like a fun tourist trap.
We all want more record stores and book stores so how about...................they evolve? A bar? Live Venue? Microbrewery? Martini bar? Cannabis? Coffee Shop? Bike Shop? Used book Store? Sandwich shop? What? I'm crazy or invented a place curious people want to visit? Pisses me off when visiting record stores that look exactly the same as 1980. Sheesh let's help everyone make a buck and move forward. So wild to think someone might want to hold a beer or coffee while shopping for music? Earth shaking. please....lighten up and be creative. Portland has a bike shop with beers on tap. And the world didn't end... Powell books can't merge with Amoeba and merge with brewery / pinball palace?
I like how Gibson is confident enough in their products, that they're not afraid to show other brands in these videos.
They’re not exactly an up and coming company that needs to worry.
They should be. Play an Eastman from Beijing. Twice as good for half the money. You’ll never pay their dumb prices ever again!😂
This is an absolute bucket list experience!!!!
You meet the coolest people in Record Stores... I know... I met my wife at a Record Store.
they'll call the authorities if you approach someone
Lucky
My wife won’t even go to a record store with me
So did i.
My local record store is always deserted
Thanks Mark, you and Gibson rock. No attempt at a Gibson commercial here, its just all about the music. Plus, Third Man Records is an amazing place.
Mark's interviews are great. He asks all the right questions. Most interviewers suck you go away thinking they didn't ask your questions.
Been there a few times, cut a record in the booth. Its pretty amazing
Never owned a Gibson, always been a fender man... but I've watched so many of these videos with Mark, and I finally get the appeal! Who knows I might even buy one!

Jack white is the only young (under 50) Artist, Guitarist that's got my attention and respect!
The Gibson channel has become one of my favorites. Well done!
Great job Mark! You were a great addition to the Gibson family!

mark has a real stepdad type personality
Good one, lol, great observation! 😂
He does hit that total creepy step-dad who flirts with his stepdaughter and her friends vibe.

Fantastic place
I gotta go to Nashville one day.
A other great video!
You guys still killing it!

Amazing
Man i need to go there!
Went there on Dick Dale’s final tour (as road tech crew) before he died. I talked him into letting me stop by there. Great place.
Dick was quite the character.
dkistheshizam - he sure was
He played my favorite color Fender that chartreuse sparkle 🤪
@@samsonkirkpatrick6996 I know his son has a matching one
Samson Kirkpatrick - gold. At the first show we did I asked him what year his guitar was and he goes, “oh I’m not sure, Leo Fender gave this to me in 1956.” Haha. Oh, you don’t say...
Would be so Awesome, to record and press music here.
What a place !
I had no idea hes from Toledo! So there is hope!

Thanks for this vid! I have been wanting to go!
Gibson hurry up and make more guitars!! Been waiting on my slash sig for 3 weeks!!
I need to cut a record their soon. That's awesome
He cut the part where he said " we love gibson, but they stay in tune as well as a First Act"
what's the track playing during the intro?
They do release classic albums and performances to at TMR. I recently bought The Stooges lastever show with Dave Alexadra and also a really cool package to comemerate Trout Mask Replica. And you canbuy this stuff on line (im in UK). Reasonable prices too.
What track is it that’s playing at the beginning?
Mark, we wanna hear what you recorded..
Good job Gibson
My first stop when I get to Nashville and my last stop!!
Great series Gibson!
This label should be bigger than Def Jam and Roadrunner records!
vinyls - what goes around comes around. it's like that.
Dance to NASHVILLE BOOTS.
I wanted to visit next month and then covid-19 hit. I'll visit next year I hope.
Who's in the middle of the photo at 2:02? Right next to Jack
Hutch, Sound Manager for Queens Of The Stone Age and many more
Nice work Mark. Did you record something?
Does Third Man have a DMM lathe? Peace.
Cool baseball Tee.
I would think the vibrations from the crowd next door would disrupt the record cutting lathe.
WOW.....
that is a cool place
Good video
I’ve been there!
They should get Band Maid, or Babymetal to record in there, and get the Japanese market going
Man, please tell me you went to the easy eye sound studio! Gotta rep Akron
That Elephant Head was sold to Jack by the American Pickers.. He did a good hustle to get a good price with a photo booth trade-in IIRC.. Jack is a shrewd mofo lol..
How do I get signed?

Lot of hate on YT? for Mark, but I miss him on guitar of the day

Sounds like the whole thing snowballed
