It’s not that they die. Some are kept in deplorable conditions. How they slaughter them is pretty gruesome. I guess I’m more concerned with their life than once dead. I’d totally be all for lab grown meat for people. One thing nobody seems to think of is the pet food industry. Our pets eat much more than the animals muscle. If the meat is from the lab it will be only muscle and fat that is made. Someone will have to do better than that for pets, especially for cats who are carnivores. Besides, it would be too expensive to grow their food in a lab.
I expect in a few decades, even animal lovers and vegans (of all types) can one day eat meat and wear leather guilt-free. And I assume this tech can grow any cell, so maybe we can grow any food like this one day. The future looks bright.

We need this technology now. Not in future. I know experts are studying about how to make it possible for all, but our current situation gives us no choice. We do have plant based meat alternatives now, as well as whole plant food protein sources. None of us has to wait for cultured (aka lab) meat to get to market. We can boycott animal products today, and actually improve our health and longevity if we do it right.

The issues with vegan is that the human body can easier absorb nutrients from meat then plant based food. So even if this plant has this amount of nutrients, the human body cannot extract all of it. So its easier for a person consuming meat to stay healthy, then a vegan who is only healthy on papers. Being a healthy vegans is difficult, for example lots of them dont know the human body struggle to adsorb iron from plants unless you help the body by mixing that iron plant based food with vitamin C-rich foods like citrus fruits.
