Cant wait for part 2! Straight into my ''Chil out and go to sleep' playlist. Glad you are a serious talker, not like 'Our Hilts Hurt' and 'The Fandome' and many others - it's like they are making videos to be on TV, or as a meme, trying to be funny and comedic. We love this content because we love the lore, the story, the world we get engrossed in. It is the best to drift off to sleep with.
To be fair, Winterfel sits on hot springs. A large aquifer of heated water could ensure the ground was much more resistant to freezing than you’d otherwise expect.
Now, I'm not a book nerd, but I believe in sticking to lore as much as possible. I have binge watched HBO'S Game Of Thrones a few times in my life, and I keep catching more mistakes. Supposedly in season 5, The Bolton's have already purged the Greyjoys from every northern stronghold they occupied. Stannis marches against Winterfell without wagons, equipment, nor the element of surprise. Stannis is not a stretegic idiot. Half his men abandon and he shows up during daylight within view of Winterfell. Sansa can see his disposition from a tower, so can Podrick, and so can any Bolton. The only sensible thing the HBO writers give him is "send out foraging parties. Begin digging a trench here, and another 300 yards from the castle". The Boltons knew he was approaching on foot, yet Stannis sent not a single scouting party? The opposite of plot armor, Stannis loses every single horse. How convenient for the writers. Surrounded by forest, Stannis did not arrive with stakes, nor mantlets to prepare any enclosure. He was utterly shocked by the Bolton cavalry approach on an open field covered in white snow. Seriously? He is running a Hail Mary directly at Winterfell without numeric superiority, nor provisions. This is not how to win the north as fast as possible, this is strategic suicide. Stannis used to be written as a tactical master, and now he's a writer's disposable pawn.
Stannis will die, his army is dying in the snow, he has already lost almost everything from cold and hunger. The northerners at home will not lose to the small army of the southern lord. The North defeated armies much larger than Stannis's
@@siluda9255 that is how HBO has written Stannis. The same way they charged the Dothraki into the dark. "We ran out of ideas. Let's have the whole army delete themselves". Remember, Stannis is still alive in the books. I honestly think his battle at Crofter's Village will be a mix of 1242 Lake Chud, and 1420 Sudomer. Funneling the larger Bolton host between the frozen lakes. The outcome might be pyrrhic.
What IF Stannis Survived? My dear summer child.. he is still alive and will get Boltons heads on a spike.. or on fire that depends of his mood i assume. That D&D fanfiction we do not count and they should he pinished for their hate to the true king of the Westeros!
I have a new. What if about what if the valyrian freehold still existed and if the dude never happened but her ancestor s left anyway to conquer their own Kingdom Which they left because one of the targaryen's ancestors for stall the Doom but what if it never happened And how it affect the game of thrones story if the targaryens weren't the One of two pure blood valyrians other than the driftmark house on Earth and And it would be interesting to see her take control of what supposedly the most advanced and powerful Empire in the game of thrones world And use its armies to conquer westeros when her family was cast out by baratheons
Aegon desired a kingdom. Not a province for a larger empire. House Targaryen doesn’t have the numbers or resources to declare independence with Dragonstone or Westeros.
@@erikthomsen4768 That's what I mean. They just decided to go their own way because the elyrian freehold didn't see west coast is worth conquering because The Empire was pretty big and not worth the resources so they don't care if a lesser Noble family Concord westroads for themselves And by the time of the show of game of thrones And the scene of pentos would be pretty interesting since whether the freehold would even recognize their monarchy or care Because Daenerys storm born family the Targaryens are a low level nobility mean they're not the freeholder families no

Fr I like our hilts hurt but they get to goofy sometimes
Idk man…digging a tunnel in frozen ground sounds like something D&D would write ;)
Loved this though!

Stannis pondering on littlefinger being an ally is silly. Stannis knew littlefinger is a snake.
Hidden gem of a channel, please keep making videos my brother

Interesting, Jon and Stannis working together, though not as lord of winterfell, look forward to another part!

Honestly this would have been a way better battle of the bastards story.
If Theon died here how would he go to Daenerys with Yara.
Because I did a games workshop and retconned him, I didn’t like the original ending I made for him so I changed it
He did survive. D&D fanfic is not Canon.
Uhh... Stannis is still kicking in the next book so premise is wrong from the get-go. Not watching, thanks.
