    So many rude comments on this channel.the man is showing you .a lot more than most .having worked in a garage14 years lots of things get broken that's how you learn and grow.des is very good at what he does .he knows more than main dealers .as he has striped them down like they would never do just servicing them a couple of years and then going to independent garages for the real repairs .and des has made his mark on what he can do for nissan repairs .and selling timing chains around the world .he is a switched on mechanic.

      Very poor mechanical skills there, punching on the pulley can brake pieces of it as well as damage the rubber since its as vibration dampener, brutal job, measuring the diameter of the piston correlates with chain stretch ?!

    Hi, how do I know if the timing chain has been replaced already? I am in North Cyprus and all the cars/vans/trucks here have little or no documents. I am pretty certain many of them are Cat C/D and are easier to repair and import here as no-one can then check the history. Anyway, is there a way to tell if the chain has been replaced on a Navara?

    • @westyorkshireengineservice9160
      @westyorkshireengineservice9160  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So you can change the lower timing chain, without taking the sump and the front diff out of the car? And your a bit slow, I just got my eleventh grandchild a few weeks ago. I changed the upper timing chain a few months ago and after watching your videos, I thought the bottom seemed ok so I left it, but now a mechanic heard my car driving past and said my timing chains were making noises and needed to be done. I like you no mucking about work. I used a pipe with two bolts welded to it to lock the harmonic balancer from turning and then a good socket and a five foot lump of pipe to loosen the crank bolt, what an effort, I wish I had one of those rattle guns.

    I don't think he would have been smiling much if he had damaged the air con radiator with that impact wrench it would have been easier to put the vehicle in gear and chock the wheels and then used a 3/4 drive bar and socket on the nut to remove it but he showed it could be done so well done, I wouldn't be to happy with my engine sounding like that one on start up but it is a Nissan I suppose.
