      My mum bought a weed grinder, it had a gothic picture of medusa on it, was clearly intended for weed. I was emptying the dishwasher and saw it like erm by little sister is quite bold putting this in the dishwasher, asked her, nope not hers. Mum found it in the cheapy shop by the lighters and tobacco tins and thought it was a weird place for them to stock garlic crushers. Bless her.

    FRICKEN YUM!!!! vegan 53 years! I worked as a chef I invented vegan foods before you were born in the still just looks delicious especially right now it's 6:15 in the morning and I haven't been to bed and I love Savory food for breakfast so my tummy I'm so hungry. Thanks for your channel I'm glad to know that there still people doing this stuff. When I saw people wearing for again after all the work I did 40 years ago my heart just sunk, and then all the people letting their animals have babies after all the spay and neuter education. I'm glad to see that there are young smart beautiful people out there still getting the word out in one way or the other! new subscriber

    Ive been playing around with mapo tofu! It’s super good and easy!
    I saute ginger and garlic. In a separate bowl- mix vegan broth with corn starch and soy sauce, with a little sesame oil. Once the ginger/garlic is cooked a little, i add black bean paste and chili paste. Then add the liquid mixture. Let it thicken for a second then add the tofu!

    Your link to the handwritten recipes doesn't work, aaah! I'm type 2 diabetic and looking to work in some vegan recipes, so I was stoked to see the one with just the tofu and veggies (the sauce seems like a low enough amount to be ok)
    I'm worried I'll forget the recommended strategies when I try it.
    Attempting anything vegan has been tough, I feel like rice & pasta are really big factors in a lot of vegan diets and I can't do that. I'm also worried my husband will balk at anything I serve him that isn't meat or pasta/white rice.
    *shakes fist at blood sugar*

    I'm trying to transition to vegan, any tips or tricks that will make it easier

    • @sonjahyvarinen7692
      @sonjahyvarinen7692 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      DragMeFromTheStars I would recommend really thinking about why you want to go vegan and watching some documentaries. I personally watched cowspiracy🌎 and earthlings🐄. I know that earthlings is pretty grafic and hard to watch (I cried through the whole thing) but I still think it's good to watch it.
      I think the most important thing is to educate yourself and have a reason for doing it.
      Another thing that makes it much easier is to watch yt videos about how people went vegan and tips on how to do it. Some good channels are CheapLazyVegan (obviously), hot for food and Liv's healthy life.
      Everyone transitions differently, some do it overnight like me and some take several months and you should do what you feel comfortable with for example you can go vegetarian first and then cut out eggs and direct dary and then start reading labels and look for more hidden ingredients like milk powder and stuff like that.
      If you have any other questions, just ask.💕
      Hope you find this helpful, good luck 💚
      (excuse my spelling)

      food wise: i recommend always having frozen veggies in the fridge and some kind of dry filling food (idk the term) like rice, lentils, beans and stuff.. this stuff saves me on days im too lazy to do anything (and thats a lot of days lol) good luck to you! :)

    • @trainerkellysnetwork
      @trainerkellysnetwork 7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      1.) Figure out why you are going vegan and explore it! Learn all the different aspects to understand your own motivation and to prepare yourself for the questions that may come your way.
      2.) Learn about vegan nutrition, even if you don't care about health. Vegan nutrition is actually very easy, even though sometimes it can seem overwhelming. At the very least, pick up a vegan B12 supplement, preferably with methylcobalamin and in liquid form.
      3.) Subscribe to vegan TH-cam channels, especially ones that focus on cheap, easy meals, like the one you are on right now! I currently watch CheapLazyVegan, The Happy Pear, Edgy Veg, Liv's Healthy Life, Supreme Banana, Guilt Free TV, Bite Sized Vegan (informational), Mic the Vegan (informational), and Caitlin Shoemaker.
      4.) Read some books on the health-side of veganism: The Starch Solution, The China Study, Proteinaholic, How NOT to Die, Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, Becoming Vegan, and I am sure there is a lot more.
      5.) Find vegan food blogs: Minimalist Baker, The Vegan 8, Connoisseurus Veg
      6.) Go visit Nutrition Facts.org.
      7.) Stock your kitchen with vegan food staples! Get yourself some grains, legumes, vegetables (canned, fresh, or frozen), fruits, nuts (if you aren't allergic), and seeds. Buy some spices and vegan-friendly condiments, if you don't already have some. I recommend focusing on cheaper staples first (pasta, rice, frozen or canned vegetables & legumes, etc.). Once you transitioned and know what you eat, you can buy things fresh, if you'd like.
      8.) Veganize or look up veganized versions of your favourite recipes.
      9.) Determine if you need to avoid vegan versions of animal products (such as vegan cheeses, vegan meats, etc.) or if they will help your transition. I personally didn't need them while I transitioned, but I also kind of transitioned without much resistance. Even now, I rarely use vegan versions of animal products (except homemade vegan sour cream because oh my gosh, I love the texture).
      10.) Think up things you have heard about veganism and research them to see if they are true. Finding out the truth should ease some concerns, if you have any. If not, that's awesome!!

    What is a sun for red pepper paste?

    • @evileyelash8094
      @evileyelash8094 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Korean red pepper paste is pretty specific, but traditional Ma Po Tofu uses its own specific paste called Doubanjiang (a major ingredient in Sichuan cuisine). So that's a big difference right there. I've seen people use Sambal Oelek (which has a completely different flavour altogether), so I suppose you could just use whatever hot sauce you find in the grocery store, but I wouldn't recommend it. You can find Doubanjiang, Korean red pepper paste and even Sambal Oelek at an Asian grocery store or online. If you don't like spicy stuff, try a different dish like Zhajiangmian (noodles in black-bean sauce) which uses a thick and savoury/sweet sauce, and you can add tofu to that. Good luck :)
