I made this for dinner last night. Husband said he could eat this every day ! It was so good. I used black sesame seeds to garnish and it looked like something we would get at a restaurant. This was easy to make, not as hard as you might think. Will be making again soon !
I love to cut the firm tofu into slices, marinate, coat with breadcrumbs and air fry. I then can keep in a container in the fridge and use it over a few days in salads, with veg, in wraps etc.
I love the use of cinnamon in savory foods!! I’m part Lebanese and it’s used like that in a lot of Lebanese dishes. Very interested in trying this, and I might even have all the ingredients already!
I am definitely not vegan, but I have made a similar recipe several times and love it so much. Normally I am not a fan of tofu, but this recipe is the exception - and of course everything tastes better with gochujang. 🙂
Rose! Thank you so much for this quick simple recipe. My hubs brought up the video and I said that I have all those ingredients. We just had it for dinner. Delicious!
Rose, you are a delight! I have been watching you for at least a year now and, especially right now as we are experiencing SoCal June Gloom, you are such a lovely bright spot. BTW, even tho you are in Calgary, you are dressed so beautifully ala Hawaii! I think I am now eating Korean food at least 1-2x per week per your easy, yummy recipes.🥰
I had a Thai version of this the other day at a restaurant. Instead of gochujang it was orange sesame tofu. It was delicious. I have gochujang at home and made some spicy rice noodles with the gochujang. PS you should forever wear bangs, they look so good on you!
Just made and love it but I felt something was missing. I followed the video. I printed out the recipe and see soy sauce was in it. I have to remember to follow the printed recipe as I know you sometimes do them on the fly. Still really good though. 🥦
Pretty dress Rose ❤️ im yet to get into tofu. I've got to feel the fear and do it anyway. Had to do quite a bit of that lately. But thats another story. Bye
I've been vegan for up to 10 years then found I was suddenly unable to digest things like tofu, beans, lentils. I miss tofu so much I find myself watching recipe videos, wishing I could still eat it. Has anyone else experienced this after years on the vegan lifestyle?
Lovely recipe Rose .. I' am interested from people what do you pay for Tofu (396g firm) in your particular country? So at present in the UK can pay £2.75 / $3.45US which has risen massively recently.
Depends on the brand, but about $3 US. If Aldi has it in stock, $1.89, but they never do. Sometimes can get it 2 for $5, and Whole Foods has their own brand that used to be $1.99...but i haven't been there in years. Honestly, i eat beans a lot - cooked from dried
it's gotten super expensive in Canada too! well, more expensive than before. I could usually get a block of extra firm tofu between $2-2.50 CAD before, but now, depending on where, it's around $3-4 ... so sad!
Another yummy 😋 spicy 🔥 recipe Rose and definitely will be making this because I love 😍 Gochujang and it's Rose's fault 😆. Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 Rose. I am making vegan lifestyle content on my channel now.
I live in South Korea and also put GoChuJang in everything to give it a Korean kick. I recommend to say the Korean words, like GoChuJang, more slowly and clearly since the pronunciation is so unusual to a foreign ear. You say GoChuJang so fast, even faster than your regular English speaking.
in my experience nutritional yeast can also act as a starch substitute for making tofu crispy, plus it adds a great savory flavor and nutrients!
Ooh, that's a great idea!
I haven't tried using nooch for crispy coating before! I will try that out - thanks for sharing!
gonna try this! thank you!
Oh cool! Thanks for sharing!
@@CheapLazyVegan If you do, please make a video! 😀

My children and I are learning Korean food through you, so thank you for sharing your knowledge x
amazing!! i hope you're enjoying korean food :) thank you!
Squeeze, freeze, squeeze - the texture will be awesome. When I buy it, I press several packages, then I freeze. Thaw when needed. Press before using.
This recipe had become one of my absolute favourite, go-to, weeknight recipes when I need something quick and delicious
This is probably the best vegan recipe I have made!!! It tasted like restaurant quality!!! Thanks Rose, your meals are amazing!!!

awww you are too sweet!!! thank you so much! I hope you're okay in SoCal!
Looks delish! I usually like to add a lil toasted sesame oil in my sauce 🤤

tofu is AMAZING! as long as you cook it right !: )
@@CheapLazyVegan ok thanx Rose. Xo
I'm fiending spicy recipes right now - have dry sockets, so water gives me more than enough pain. But my eyes can eat ☺️
I will have to try this😋😋😋
Ive been looking for a gochujang tofu recipe!! How’d u know?
I can read your mind

Tofu is so good. Wish I had a better tolerance for spice, lol.

i have such a random question but does anyone know who films those side shots? it looks like someone is holding the camera since it moves haha
haha i have an assistant that helps me film!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
❤
my struggle with tofu is that all the ones I have seen locally just says tofu and not if it's firm or not :(
i hope you are not too close to the fires up there...💒
oh dear, we're experiencing lots of wild fires recently! so sad :(
Jesus that was a lot of sweetener lol
cute but the korean spice paste is way to hot for me. I'll stick to chipotle, less painful.
I love tofu but stopped eating it as I've been told soy isn't good for men
Lowered the amt of soy sauce, but otherwise stuck to your recipe and...dang, that's good stuff! Absolutely yummy!
