🔴Question 1. Should the D4S LTO 6.0 run directly from my alternator or from my front battery (lead acid or agm) Question 2. D4S LTO 6.0 recommends 3,000 to 5,000 watts, does this mean i can not use it for a 2,000 watt amp. Question 3. Because the ah of the D4S LTO 6.0 is so small does that mean it should only run your system while the engine is running
I was told that lithium will require dc to dc charger this is to ensure the lithium battery and alternator lasts longer.. I hv an agm battery under the hood, can i directly install lithium in parallel with my hood battery with an isolator in between them ( without the use of a dc - dc charger for lithium)
How reliable is that little d4s lithium bat? I'm between that and the titan 8. I've been told the d4s one isn't good and can catch fire. I would like the d4s just cause it's a little cheaper but I don't know anything about the reliability of it.
Weight.... I would need (10x) 50lbs agm batteries to even come close to the output of a 50lb lithium bank . So weight savings and space saving are 2 of the biggest pros . The con is that as fast as it gives out the power it will drain just as fast but if you have alot of alternator power it would charge back up almost just as fast . Kind of like having a shit ton of super capacitors and a little bit of reserve capacity as well all in one battery . AGMs are just a lot of reserve capacity but you can only get a small amount at a time instead of just one big rush and AGMs also take way longer to charge back up . My voltage on 3 agms would drop from 14.8 to 12.3 volts with a high output alternator when I would go full tilt and charge back up in about 30ish seconds. With 80ah of LTO lithium I don't drop below 15.38 and I charge at 15.48 .When it does drop, it recovers within the blink of an eye after bass changes frequencies or stops between beats .
I have a 2014 Mazda cx 5 with a stock 100 amp alt only putting out around 13.8v at idle, drops to around 12 once the bass hits,is it ok to use the titan 8 battery for 12v?
Do yourself a favor and just don't run any battery of any sort under the hood and you will get longer life period. Under the hood is a utterly horrendous environment to live in.
@@bigkato3134 Where are you getting 30k cycles? If done right we don't worry about cycles. You say all other LifePo4, "all other" is non existent unless you are refering to manufactures. as if its not LifePo4, well it is not LPF. LTO is the most safe? The safest chemistry I would argue (Which I do not need to as its proven) that LifePo4 is the winner there, Easiest, Cleanest and no alterations to a vehicles stock electrical system even your stock battery can stay with no isolator needed and can bring a LifePo4 down to 100% DoD and bounce back however not recommended. LTO is a young pup so their life claims are speculation (which really they all are but LTO is a very new chemistry) and all BS anyway as too many factors. "cycle life" is also meaning that the battery no longer is able reach above 70 or 80% capacity, which will still work splendid for us in car audio.
@@lowhertzhighspl agms are meant to go as a normal battery replacement, lithium batteries are meant for car audio so theyre more likely to be abused or used improperly, im guessing thats the reason
Does the (red) charger light for the lithium 6.0 turn green when it’s done charging? And also what is the 2 little fuse things that come in the charger box?
Built a 32ah bank of 38120 HEADWAY cells a year ago for car audio and works great. Pretty save and reliable for pushing only about 3k watts. Can anybody compare the XSpower and D4S LTO packs to the bank I've built? I considered both before building the one I have now because there wasn't much available information on either product being they were just realeased at the time.
LTO banks are higher voltage, you are limited to 14.8 charge, but I suggest 14.6 max. You can also use a AGM under hood as the headway(LifePo4) will play well and headway which is LifePo4 is harder to kill and much more forgiving. If you are looking to upgrade or have any qualms with your electrical, I suggest a bank of caps, 500F(6 3000F cells) will do very well for you. *Edit- I said lead acid, you can use a wet cell battery with LifePo4 however I strongly suggest a isolator relay. AGM there is no need.
@@commonsenseisdeadin2024 actually I have heard several people running headway + agm say that when they disconnected the agm they got better voltage-less drop.
@@LowetheTechGuy I would question their batteries health for sure. I have a group 49 stock ( close to group 31) so I am taking full advantage of that 😂 but I would only see gaining only if the AGM has high resistance and pulling the headway down.
@@commonsenseisdeadin2024 yeah that’s because the AGM pulls the voltage of headways down to that of the AGM, it defeats the purpose of running a lithium altogether
The answer is you can never have to many but I would say with the alternator you have 2. Also if you are local to them the warranty is a swap out. Size depends on vehicle.

CMAX are designed to be used by a big automobile manufacturer in electric vehicles WITH A CUSTOM TAILORED BMS. all the big electric car manufacturers are using NMC or other very energy dense li-on chemistries (for the most part, Tesla has been known to use LFP but not as much as the more traditional "li-on" cells) essentially it boils down to this.. some chemistries are way more energy dense but are worse at thermal runaway... LTO is NOT very energy dense but is very safe and has very high charge/discharge rates... 99.999999% of car audio users DO NOT use a BMS in their battery pack which is only OK to do with LTO and LFP unless you realllllllly know what you are doing and monitor your pack and all its cells like a hawk. And most people dont... most people dont even have basic understanding of how an electrical circuit works they are simply copying something they read online.. and boom fire. thats all folks have a good day.. Queue comments *now* about how you are a expert battery engineer because you read on facebook how to properly use CMAX.. NEWSFLASH CMAX cells were engineered to be used WITH A BMS and NOT WITHOUT!!! - also to all the people saying D4s and XS power are overcharging their 5s LTO... XS power sells a 6s LTO pack so buy that if youre really that concerned.. but for real LTO can be abused like a mofo.. all youre going to do is shorten its life it aint catching on fire so who cares??
how long lithium and super caps can last? 5? 10? 15 year? because lithium is the most expensive battery. lead acid battery can last about 3 year +/-. how about lithium?

Isolate them. Lithium will charge to almost 13+ while the agm will only go to 12.8 while sitting so it causes some problems. But while the engines running it should be fine
You're comparing a Military AGM? to 96AH of Lithium??? As retired Army, that sounds like something you have to prove to say! At least make a link to where we all can see the battery and its ratings you are talking about thx.
I don't completely understand the question, but your voltage will always go up while driving. A smaller pully on your alternator will make your voltage higher at idle.
Only thing I recommend is a higher output alternator. The only reason it drops is cause your idle amps coming out of your alternator isn't enough to keep up with your system. Also no matter what you're always gonna have a little drop cause your batterys get full while driving then when you idle they run out cause your alternator can't keep up with the drain. Just get an alternator rated at idle for what amperage your system uses and you shouldn't be disappointed. Don't forget a big 3/4 also

I watch this video as i am legitimately building a 45ah cmax bank. I would love to see these constant sightings of vehicles burning? from it, I am not calling you a liar I just do not see nor hear about them anymore, the whole thing as i have personally seen is result of the rumor mill doing what it do best and overreact Also NMC chemistry is not all one in the same. Cmax has a tarnished rep, insight which is identical as they are both panasonic made doesn't have the inherited " personality trait" that of cmax. Also 2 versions of cmax 5ah and 25ah cells are not the same, the C ratings are vastly different and 25Ah usually will not be a good choice typically for those who want to run cmax. any and every diy builder should be knowledgeable.
I looked in to cmax a bunch before going LTO. What made up my mind was the lack of availability of quality cells, the bus bars are way too expensive (for the good ones) and the way they must be compressed was just a few then you have guys making videos of puncturing the cells and volcano like reactions, unlike LTO if punctured them and nothing, nada, zip. I'm not putting you down bro I'm just talking to a fellow bass brother, and it sounds like you know a LOT more than I do and know the differences in Panasonic/cmax and what cells to use, I wish you the best God bless!
@@scottiffanimccord1509 the safest is LifePo4 (LFP) as well as the most fool proof (not fully nothing is), LTO is safe too but much easier to kill cells. However it still has a tarnished name because idiots either used the wrong cells or not enough cells with very poor or no compression (casing) on top of it. Question 2. D4S LTO 6.0 recommends 3,000 to 5,000 watts, does this mean i can not use it for a 2,000 watt amp.
Question 3. Because the ah of the D4S LTO 6.0 is so small does that mean it should only run your system while the
engine is running

did you replace your vehicles battery with the limitless 15ah battery?
@@ZackyesRno no. I just added as a secondary battery. I don’t think these are safe under the hood.

How often you need to charge it??
Why Lithium and not AGM battery? Is their a big difference between the two technologies?
Soo i can run a yellow top battery in the front along with this LTO battery in the back with my amps without any trouble?

@@anthonyicenhour8046 can I have this as my primary battery under the hood?
So a battery like the titan 8 that is designed to be used under the hood, how long should this last if maintained correctly?
30,000 cycles =30 year Lto lithium last l 10-15 times longer than all other lifep04 lithium and it the most safest
Only a 1 yr warranty whereas their AGMs came with a 3 yr Although LTO is expected to last way longer. Odd.

I have a 12v agm up front. And a 12k Brand X as my 2nd battery. I need a better way to keep it charged at 15v. It's frustrating.
I have a group 49 stock ( close to group 31) so I am taking full advantage of that 😂 but I would only see gaining only if the AGM has high resistance and pulling the headway down.

got a Mechman 370, how many 6.0 would i need for the JP83? Also what should I go with under the hood?

From what I’ve heard an Isolator, or do a battery delete and run on Lithium only
I don't completely understand the question, but your voltage will always go up while driving. A smaller pully on your alternator will make your voltage higher at idle.
@@ditto_75 exactly it happens all the time no matter the battery.

Some people cannot afford those expensive lithium batteries. AGM batteries are solid and budget friendly as well.
Cmax is dangerous, absolutely, and I would never trust just letting a rookie run it. However it still has a tarnished name because idiots either used the wrong cells or not enough cells with very poor or no compression (casing) on top of it. It's a powerful cell and ran by many people with no issue whatsoever and I've yet to see a halfway decent compressed pack in the failed photos. I don't recommend Cmax to anyone as who asks don't know, i always recommend red headway cell if any. I just hate the misinformation surrounding it. lithium is a huge factor moving forwards, not just in audio but everything. I think everyone should be informed and educated in all types of Li-Ion and Li-Po.
