I am glad you said this, because it's been a rupture in the community about what people want Luffy to be vs what he actually is. A lot of people sided with what Zoro said this chapter because they want Luffy to be the edgy or something, and on places like 𝕏 other shonen fans try to clown on Luffy being emotional. I have a crackhead theory. Maybe he emphasised it because it'll come up again in elbaf. In that case, what if zoros view of what a yonko should be causes conflict between him and luffy/the crew? Of course, he's too loyal to do what usopp did in water 7, so I imagine it'd be a more personal conflict and not something that leads to "insubordination" on zoros part. What I'm getting at is that, given that this is Elbaf we're going into, with all the buildup for usopp and elbaf we get a moment where usopp actually needs to talk sense into zoro, calling back to water 7 (which in and of itself would be on theme considering eggheads parallels to enies lobby) where zoro had to talk sense into luffy about what it meant to be a captain when it came to usopps actions. Again, it's a crackhead theory. But wouldn't it be funny if I end up right?
People tend to forget that Luffy, in story, lost Ace only 2 years ago. Having someone die AGAIN on his watch would be devastating. Think about it he lost someone he tried so hard to get back and then thought he lost someone he promised to protect. Zoro simply highlights the confidence someone with such a title now that they are perceived as one of the Emperors.

Zoro shouldn’t hold Luffy up to the standards set by the other Yonko’s when he’s made it quite obvious he’s not that kind of pirate. Just because he got the title doesn’t mean he’s suddenly gonna change who he is.
lets not forget zoro can't be socially "nice" unless its a small girl. Think logically. Luffy is meant to be a pirate and he’s repeatedly not acting like 1. He doesn’t owe vegapunk anything or know him from anywhere so why is he acting up. Luffy acts more like a revolutionary than a pirate in most cases. Different or not he has to be held accountable.

Blackbeard said a pirate group isn’t a group of friends, it’s a group of people with similar goals. The straw hats are the exact opposite of that, they are close friends with very different goals. They’ve all participated in saving entire countries, and befriending them after only knowing them for a day, and all they ask for in return is a party afterwards. Yonko title is really just how much _influence_ the person has and how dangerous the WG perceives that influence. Whether by territories, other titles, accomplishments, bounty, etc. But forreals, what Zoro said was out of pocket lol. Zoro is the top 3 of a Yonko crew, but he was struggling with Lucci until Sanji had to tell this man that he was a _burden_ 💀. Jinbei should've called him out for prolonging his fight with Lucci when Zoro said that about Luffy lol.

(👀) The British ended up winning this engagement. The Napoleonic Wars continued for 10 more years until the battle of Waterloo, which marked the final defeat of Napoleon. After the defeat at the battle of Waterloo, Napoleon was exiled again, but this time, to the island called St. Helena… named after St. Helena, a Roman Empress who holds the reputation of the Discoverer of Christ’s cross (which could almost certainly be the real world equivalent of finding the One Piece) St. Helena is also known as the mother of Emperor Constantine the Great. If Joyboy was on Laughtale when he died, and Imu became “King” after that, it would be representative of St. Helena being the death place of Napoleon, and the mother of Emperor Constantine the Great. (I hope I don’t sound too wacky with the comparisons, but I just felt like the name was too specific to not look into. Then after looking into Napoleon and thinking about how like Luffy has been against being known as a hero and Joyboy probably being similar. There is a chance I may not be the most informed on Napoleon so I apologize if my comments or comparisons are insensitive or offensive. Just sharing my findings and thoughts.)
Just like crocodile got exposed to the public from what he did after he got big, he has to lose his position or it will ruin their reputation or the look and he has to got to jail for it even if they knew what he was doing before the fact… the fact that he got exposed to the public for what he did, the government can’t be seen supporting that now that it was exposed same for all the other yonkos that got beat
You make some excellent points. It is just a title, the person is still the same person they always were. The only reason they have that title is because part of the person they always were happens to be ridiculously strong beyond that they're still them. Using their pride against them, that also makes sense. Both of these points easily translate into the real world. I've seen them in action. So yeah, I have to agree with what you said. All of it.
It's rare, but I think this was a moment where Oda slightly misrepresented a character's actions. Oda is usually excellent at writing characters consistently, but here it felt a bit off. I agree with BDA in the video - besides, Luffy and his crew have always considered themselves "Yonko" level. So I don't think Zoro would have said what he did. It does fit Zoro's personality, but only if he's just now realizing Luffy's Yonko status and future as King. I personally believe how the world is just now seeing Luffy and them, Zoro and the Straw Hats have *been* seeing Luffy this way. So, "You're a Yonko now' I don't think would have been said... not like the way he said it. If anything, I could see Zoro advising Luffy on how to act, but fully understanding and expecting Luffy to act exactly as he did. Zoro knows when to step in, like with the Usopp situation, because he understands Luffy's nature but also recognizes the need for Luffy to act differently sometimes. So it felt out of character for Zoro to be surprised and critical when Luffy was just being himself... Zoro tryna switch up just becuase the World is now seeing Luffy for what he is, is the real issue, imo
Looking at that Title, I was unsure about what problem does Brago have now. 😂 But as I am watching the video, I get his perspective and reasoning for making this video and ngl Brago is cooking🔥 The One Piece community can be really annoying most of the times. This is a great video Brago, I feel like the majority of arguments in the One Piece community is from people thinking titles = some defined power level. It’s like if in real life people looked at Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg and went, “those guys are all CEO level so they must be comparable in strength,”.
Usually in One Piece certain titles do come with a certain degree of strength so they're not pulling that out of thin air, and CEO's aren't physical combatants in a fictional story.

They teamed up due to Luffy forcing Big mom to go to Wano. If it weren’t for this anomaly, this alliance doesn’t even get thought of. “Yonko”matters for sure, but it’s frivolous and overrated.
They are often the same generation Luffy and Blackbeard, Shanks and Buggy. I just hope Luffy and Shanks join forces. I'm sure Blackbeard and Buggy will do the same thing. I agree with a lot of what you said but there's some outliers. I don't think you can really make thst claim about Mihawk when he's chasing fodders out thr Grand Line into East Blue just to kill them but he dodges Vista when it comes time to fight a real opponent.

Titles got kuma whole family killed and made doffy who he is. Blackbeard fought for the Title of warlord just so he could leverage into owning an entire island. Luffy is fighting this entire journey for the Title of the most free on the sea. Sure it doesnt make you a different person but it gives you different responsibilities that you need to take into account. zoro was right.
If Luffy goal is to be the freest man on the sea but can’t grieve because of Yonko title then Zoro is wrong not right. So your basically saying Luffy should give up on being the free man on the sea for a title he has for a week or two 😂

I don’t think the yonko don’t work together BECAUSE of their title so much as their own personalities and abilities are what made them so great and those personalities are too prideful/clash with one another that prevents an alliance

Sure he's luffy, but you'd expect him to grow. He did grow some after the timeskip, then he got gear 5 and took 3 steps back. If luffy was half as serious in egghead as in wano I don't think vegapunk would have died. Instead of brushing it off, you could have used this as a good character moment for luffy and sanji. But no, we have to have the obligatory party.

It's not 3 steps back. Luffy wants freedom but also the strength to be free and protect what he treasures. The reson he was more serious Post Timeskip Pre Gear 5th was because he knew he still wasn't strong enough to overcome the strongest in the world. Without Gear 5th Luffy did not have the luxury to be what he wants to be without dire consequences. Gear 5th in essence liberated him from a lot of burden he had from Timeskip to Wano. The form by nature is euphoric to Luffy that allows him to be what he was in East Blue, while still being strong enough to face what comes his way. Post Marineford Luffy: I'M WEAK!! Gear 5th Luffy: This is my Peak! Sure he's developing some bad habits when in Gear 5th but I don't blame him. I'd goof off too if I had that power As for not saving Vegapunk I feel Luffy in Gear 5th rides a wave of fate where he goes with the flow of what happens but doesn't get too involved with what happens. Vegapunk was destined to die and Vegapunk embraced that fate. Luffy was only the agent of liberating Bonney and resisting those who wanted to silence the truth from being broadcasted to the world

Bad Timeline I’m going to attempt only connecting dots that don’t feel too “tin-foil hat”, so bear with me. The basis of this thought train came from a mistranslation which is a horrible follow up to my first part, I’m aware. Stick with me. So the mistranslation took place right after the spoilers for the last chapter came out and it was on behalf of our beloved Zoro, who expressed frustrated disappointment in Luffy, which was later fixed to be more in line with what we’d expect from Zoro. My brain train was already leaving the station: Demon King Zoro vs Sun God Luffy. In this bad timeline, Zoro doesn’t just settle for World’s Strongest Swordsman, his greed overcomes him and he strives to be the World’s Strongest, and after many battles beside Luffy, he finds himself in a strange position, with only Luffy standing between him and his goal. Does he betray the crew? Does he betray the bonds he’s established? Let’s release the suspended beliefs since we know that’s not Zoro. Zoro was the variable chosen to represent York and Imu, while Luffy was set to represent Joyboy and Vegapunk. Both betrayals, would have ended with the “Bad Guys” increasing their power/firepower (Imu/York), while the “Good Guys” end up with a messenger who shows them the path (Toki/Lilith). I don’t think Lilith possesses the knowledge necessary to pass the message/path to Luffy, and that’s why I’m almost certain that S(Copper) Gaban will be awaiting us at Elbaf. Gold Roger was at the beginning, Silvers Rayleigh was in the middle, sCopper Gaban is likely to wrap up our treasure trio (unless you’re counting Jewelry Bonney). Plus, I think we need to see how Luffy responds to this whole Joyboy/Sun God Nika destiny stuff. There’s been long term speculation that Bink’s Sake is the story of the Void Century or Joyboy Adventure and there’s an interesting connection between a portion of lines between Bink’s Sake (using the Wiki English Translation, so I apologize for any mistakes) and the events of Egghead. After Wano, we have the (assumed perfect) Mother Flame with Gear 5 Luffy which would be us preparing to set sail with “Bink’s Brew” [remembering that Vegapunk wanted to use the Mother Flame to provide a sustainable energy sources to everyone in the world]. Birds singing of cheerful things could refer to Big News Morgan’s reporting Luffy becoming an Emperor. Leaving Wano (Weaver’s Town). “Steady men may never fear, Tomorrow’s skies are always clear, so pound your feet and clap your hands till Sunny Days return.” The fight against the Gorosei until the release of JoyBoy’s haki? Now the key line that made me make this connection, “Wave good-bye, but don't you cry. Our memories remain. Our days are but a passing dream, everlasting though they seem. ‘Neath the moon we'll meet again, the wind's our lullaby!” The last line is interesting because the survivor is Lilith. Lilith translates into “The Night”, making beneath the moon where the Vegapunks met again. After Vegapunk “became a Skeleton”, he did in fact, spread his message across these foamy seas. “Yo-hohoho.” I keep thinking about how Bonney fits into the whole Void Century theme, and I keep thinking about how much Bonney hated Vegapunk when she got to the Island, and again, I’ve connected Vegapunk to Joyboy in this entire thing, so with that being said, due to what the WG faction did, Bonney took problem with Vegapunk, but after being exposed to the truth, she turned against the WG and even grew more emboldened by the presence of Sun God Nika. The name “Lili” in hebrew means “My God is an Oath.” The way that so many of the different tribes and peoples view Joyboy and the return of Joyboy as a promise to bring the Dawn. I think Lili’s role within the Void Century story is likely to line up closest with Bonney’s Egghead storyline, which was cleverly masked with her and Kuma’s ongoing storyline. Interestingly enough, using either Bonney or Vivi as a reference point, Imu/WG are responsible for taking both of their father’s from them, so I’d like to add King Nefertari of Lili’s time as one of Imu’s possible victims on my Void Century Bingo Card. Lastly, to end the battle against the Gorosei, Emet sacrificed himself for the sake of everyone else surviving. I assume that Joyboy had a public execution like Roger, Noland, Ace, and (almost) Luffy. So, I expect there to be an extra Void Century tragic ending for someone else. With the current depiction of Kizaru, if there was a 1-to-1 comparison, then someone on the side of the WG may have also ended up questioning their allegiance, and they (or their will) may still be around. (WHAT IS THE CONNECTION BETWEEN MIHAWK, IMU, AND HAKUBA????? THOSE EYES HAVE BOTHERED ME FOR TOO LONG)

All of them lived up to the title of Emperor, even Buggy to an extent. That bounty system for Marines was game changing.

What I'm getting at is that, given that this is Elbaf we're going into, with all the buildup for usopp and elbaf we get a moment where usopp actually needs to talk sense into zoro, calling back to water 7 (which in and of itself would be on theme considering eggheads parallels to enies lobby) where zoro had to talk sense into luffy about what it meant to be a captain when it came to usopps actions.

People tend to forget that Luffy, in story, lost Ace only 2 years ago. Having someone die AGAIN on his watch would be devastating. Think about it he lost someone he tried so hard to get back and then thought he lost someone he promised to protect. Zoro simply highlights the confidence someone with such a title now that they are perceived as one of the Emperors.

You make some excellent points. It is just a title, the person is still the same person they always were. The only reason they have that title is because part of the person they always were happens to be ridiculously strong beyond that they're still them.

It's rare, but I think this was a moment where Oda slightly misrepresented a character's actions. Oda is usually excellent at writing characters consistently, but here it felt a bit off.
I agree with BDA in the video - besides, Luffy and his crew have always considered themselves "Yonko" level. So I don't think Zoro would have said what he did. It does fit Zoro's personality, but only if he's just now realizing Luffy's Yonko status and future as King. I personally believe how the world is just now seeing Luffy and them, Zoro and the Straw Hats have *been* seeing Luffy this way. So, "You're a Yonko now' I don't think would have been said... not like the way he said it.
If anything, I could see Zoro advising Luffy on how to act, but fully understanding and expecting Luffy to act exactly as he did. Zoro knows when to step in, like with the Usopp situation, because he understands Luffy's nature but also recognizes the need for Luffy to act differently sometimes. So it felt out of character for Zoro to be surprised and critical when Luffy was just being himself... Zoro tryna switch up just becuase the World is now seeing Luffy for what he is, is the real issue, imo

The reson he was more serious Post Timeskip Pre Gear 5th was because he knew he still wasn't strong enough to overcome the strongest in the world. Without Gear 5th Luffy did not have the luxury to be what he wants to be without dire consequences.
Gear 5th in essence liberated him from a lot of burden he had from Timeskip to Wano. The form by nature is euphoric to Luffy that allows him to be what he was in East Blue, while still being strong enough to face what comes his way.

Bad Timeline
I’m going to attempt only connecting dots that don’t feel too “tin-foil hat”, so bear with me. The basis of this thought train came from a mistranslation which is a horrible follow up to my first part, I’m aware. Stick with me. So the mistranslation took place right after the spoilers for the last chapter came out and it was on behalf of our beloved Zoro, who expressed frustrated disappointment in Luffy, which was later fixed to be more in line with what we’d expect from Zoro. My brain train was already leaving the station: Demon King Zoro vs Sun God Luffy. In this bad timeline, Zoro doesn’t just settle for World’s Strongest Swordsman, his greed overcomes him and he strives to be the World’s Strongest, and after many battles beside Luffy, he finds himself in a strange position, with only Luffy standing between him and his goal. Does he betray the crew? Does he betray the bonds he’s established?
Let’s release the suspended beliefs since we know that’s not Zoro. Zoro was the variable chosen to represent York and Imu, while Luffy was set to represent Joyboy and Vegapunk. Both betrayals, would have ended with the “Bad Guys” increasing their power/firepower (Imu/York), while the “Good Guys” end up with a messenger who shows them the path (Toki/Lilith). I don’t think Lilith possesses the knowledge necessary to pass the message/path to Luffy, and that’s why I’m almost certain that S(Copper) Gaban will be awaiting us at Elbaf. Gold Roger was at the beginning, Silvers Rayleigh was in the middle, sCopper Gaban is likely to wrap up our treasure trio (unless you’re counting Jewelry Bonney). Plus, I think we need to see how Luffy responds to this whole Joyboy/Sun God Nika destiny stuff.
There’s been long term speculation that Bink’s Sake is the story of the Void Century or Joyboy Adventure and there’s an interesting connection between a portion of lines between Bink’s Sake (using the Wiki English Translation, so I apologize for any mistakes) and the events of Egghead. After Wano, we have the (assumed perfect) Mother Flame with Gear 5 Luffy which would be us preparing to set sail with “Bink’s Brew” [remembering that Vegapunk wanted to use the Mother Flame to provide a sustainable energy sources to everyone in the world]. Birds singing of cheerful things could refer to Big News Morgan’s reporting Luffy becoming an Emperor. I keep thinking about how Bonney fits into the whole Void Century theme, and I keep thinking about how much Bonney hated Vegapunk when she got to the Island, and again, I’ve connected Vegapunk to Joyboy in this entire thing, so with that being said, due to what the WG faction did, Bonney took problem with Vegapunk, but after being exposed to the truth, she turned against the WG and even grew more emboldened by the presence of Sun God Nika. The name “Lili” in hebrew means “My God is an Oath.” The way that so many of the different tribes and peoples view Joyboy and the return of Joyboy as a promise to bring the Dawn. I think Lili’s role within the Void Century story is likely to line up closest with Bonney’s Egghead storyline, which was cleverly masked with her and Kuma’s ongoing storyline. Interestingly enough, using either Bonney or Vivi as a reference point, Imu/WG are responsible for taking both of their father’s from them, so I’d like to add King Nefertari of Lili’s time as one of Imu’s possible victims on my Void Century Bingo Card.
Lastly, to end the battle against the Gorosei, Emet sacrificed himself for the sake of everyone else surviving. I assume that Joyboy had a public execution like Roger, Noland, Ace, and (almost) Luffy. So, I expect there to be an extra Void Century tragic ending for someone else. With the current depiction of Kizaru, if there was a 1-to-1 comparison, then someone on the side of the WG may have also ended up questioning their allegiance, and they (or their will) may still be around.
