Tuesday April 16 2024 Home from metal detecting with Justin. Today we went to the Glebe Memorial Park off of Chamberlain Avenue here in Ottawa Canada. First time detecting in this park. Usual park finds about $4 in clad, a few lost keys and a nice ' 1942 US Wheetie Penny. It was warm and cold with the winds and very noisey from the construction of the Percy Street Bridge Construction. More practising with my new Minelab Vanquish #440 Detector until 46 Sleeps until our Detecting Trip first two weeks of June in Fernwood Prince Edward Island. OttawaMarc
Not sure if anyone commented but the pin is a E-4 Specialist Army Rank pin. Hat & collar in the day. Now mostly sewen cloth patches. Nice find. HH & To the Lost! TheBandit
You should ground balance or use ground tracking EVERY hunt. There is no such thing as neutral ground.🤦🤦🤦 It meant for every ground type. It basically makes ALL GROUND invisible to the machine so it's more accurate detecting. You'll never get the full potential out of your machine if you don't balance it to the ground. That's literally why you have it
I saw one of your videos and you were talking about getting permission by knocking on doors. Don't know if it's luck or what but I've only been told no twice. Try bringing an extra detector and offer fit them too join you.

You've gotta dig the teens on the 600 / 800. That's where the gold rings are. Single figures are usually crap.
That's an old still sprinkler receptacle. It had a cap that you could lift up and insert a sprinkler head...
