I feel shame for those who steal your videos using very biased clips. I think they just want to attract eyes and play counts. China's economy develops so rapidly, we Chinese do make a a lot progress and improvements towards modernization, which make Chinese people more and more confident than what we used to be in the last century. However, some Chinese individuals are not truly confident, they cannot accept criticism especially from foreigners. Although I can understand those who we call “glass heart”, since everyone like praises of their own country instead of criticisms, I am very much against these behaviors. As a Chinese who live overseas, I've been to many foreign countries, there're a lot things I do like, and a lot of things I dislike, like or dislike are just normal human emotions, every one have the right to like or dislike something. I have seen some uploads either in this channel or in Laowhy86, I have to say you guys are doing fantastic jobs for introducing a real China, and give you a big thanks. I can feel your love for China, and also those aspects China is not doing so well, from foreigners' perspectives. In addition, I think more and more well educated Chinese people are quite open-minded now, just as an ancient Chinese saying “君子和而不同” which means "real gentlemen can get along well with each other while they could have different opinions". Wow, I can't believe I just finished my most lengthy comments on youtube.

They are in freaking CHINA!!! the land of the cheap workforce! They should hire someone to translate the videos for them, for some BMR (or whatever is the name of the currency over there).
RMB is the currency. I think it'd be best for them to do the subtitles, maybe Vivan could help with the translation, but both Matt and Winston speak English and Chinese very well. I'm not sure about their written Chinese though. My worry is that they'll get a bad translation for the same reason that they're getting attacked by other Chinese people on bilibili and the like.
Like I said in other thread, haters will just crop out the part of the video where subtitles are, or blur/blank them out and put their own subtitles on top. You can't win with them. But, at least it will make their life harder. So I guess it still could be done.
What I found interesting is that, every time I read hot section comments under your videos on bilibili, there were always some guys pretended to understand english and tried to tell us what you guys were talking about. And what happened is, they wrote stories that have nothing to do with the video, but still gained 500+ likes...
That's the worst part is people spreading lies and no one questions them, then people will come to our youtube channels from there and write hateful comments in Chinese because they can't understand English, I'm glad that people like you can understand

Same here! I’ve gained a much deeper understanding of Chinese culture. It shows how the US corporate media like to make China the boogeyman. They often times depict this country as a monolith, with well-thought-out plans of world domination. In reality, from what I’ve gathered, the CCP is a disorganized state run by criminals. Their educational system or lack thereof is in no way superior to the West. In a nut shell they are corrupt, incompetent and far too obsessed with Western culture. This saving face mixed with wolf warrior diplomacy could very well be their downfall.

I have been watching Winston and C-Milk for a long time now and it is obvious they put a huge effort into what they do. They present China in a balanced way, the good the bad and the ugly. The only way you can have this done is to find a Chinese friend as partner to have an official channel on Bilibili, good translations and I mean really good translations and subtitles. In fact, I feel that's a good way to do it. Being a Chinese myself, I find your videos very very entertaining to watch, I'm sure there are a lot of like-minded people in China.

Kirk Cowgill I love being mixed. I get fairly well accepted by Asians but still can pack on the muscle like a Caucasian. Best of both worlds. at the end of the day both cultures only give a shit about how much money you have regardless of race lol.

I love learning about different parts of the world from a westerners perspective, and Conquering Southern China was one of the best documentaries I have seen, and can't wait for Conquering Northern China.

I think you are doing great by present what's in there objectively. I am a Chinese living in the US. Every system and country have their own problems. China gets its own and so does the US. People are usually very narrow-minded because they never get a chance to get outside of the country to see the rest of the world. That's why communication is so important to let people know what looks like in another place in this world no matter it's good or bad. We should keep the good things and improve the bad things. This rule applies to every country and every individual.
Yes, I have been living in the US for a very long time too and I noticed that western world has a lot of bias against China too. The mass media like CNN or CCTV have the opinion of the own only representing their own benefits and interests. People should learn things from different sources. That's why I like to watch real people posting real things.
Yup. Also many chinese people don't realize how horribly china is often portrayed in the american MSM and in turn don't have the context of how laowhy and serpentza aren't actually talking shit about china. For many people the image of china couldn't be tarnished any more and to change opinions like that you need honesty. If these guys went the "China Above All" way, not a single mind would change, but they aren't morons nor assholes so they tell how it is. With good comes bad and these 2 are creating a legacy worth remembering.

Its a stereotype that he's using to make his point. Surely if you go to alabama the majority wont be racist, but theres still an image in a lot of people's mind associated with that state or states like Kentucky or maybe Virginia.
Winston is clearly more right-wing than the American. Can't blame him, he grew up in South Africa. The only place that's even remotely similar to that in America is Detroit.
I think sometimes it's about the titles of the videos, like "Is Chinese girls easy", "Is Chinese lawless" etc. The titles alone would make those haters wanna hate regardless of what you actually said in these videos.
That Planet, Pluto same here, first impressions are also a big part of how we perceive things. Ive litterly cringed at some of the things they've said and done but they have changed my opinion of China for the better. I now consider China, Japan, Korea. As Americas greatest allies and I have more respect for them rather than most European countries. I do still have much love for Netherlands, Belgium, UK, France and Greece. Especially the UK and the sacrifices they've made willingly for America, but countries like Germany I do not respect as much because they will not pull their weight in NATO. I don't hold it against their people and still like most Europeans(except the ones who hate America) the feeling is mutual for them.

I personally don't gate hate for clickbaits, its different thing if title is totally different from content but this is clearly not. Title is just a title, not the content.

I had no idea that Hapas were hating and having a hard time or there was any issue associated with halfsies kids and that sort of thing . Cause 1. I can't count how many people have offered to set me up with a Chinese guy so we can (and i quote) "have beautiful, mixed babies." And 2. isn't there a Chinese saying about the farther apart two people come from, the more beautiful and smart the child?
I grew up in Hawaii, and despite the prejudice there, it was widely and I think generally agreed that mixed-race children and adults were the most beautiful. I mean pretty much everybody seemed to agree on that except the most racist types who just hated everybody anyway. If there was any argument among ordinary people, it was on the order of, say, Which tends to be more beautiful, Asian and white? or Asian and Hawaiian? or etc etc. And as to getting along, they got along at least as well as anyone else because they tended to be accepted by everyone and not shunned by anyone.
Why not hire some Chinese people to go back and subtitle your biggest hits and then upload them yourselves? Seems like you could monetize and start your own following there. Would cost a bit, but might be worth it in the long run.
This video somehow changed my opinion towards you guys and this channel. I found both of you guys' channel not a long time ago, and to be honest I didn't feel many friendly air toward China in these channels at first. Due to many years of life experience in the "hometown of anti-China movement" (NYC), I thought you guys were not different from "China uncensored" at the beginning. But I soon realized that was not exactly true, although some of the content in this channel still far from "friendly". I guess you guys are just being honest, or "too blend in", and trying to view China in the way as same as local Chinese. Since you guys have been living in China for so long, that shouldn't be surprised. I believe what you guys doing now is beneficial to China after all, by showing how the real China looks like: not the Xanadu as what Europeans used to believe, not the hell that full of devils as what some Americans still believe either. It just China. So, keep up the good work!
*Maybe you should start translating your videos in chinese and have it like you dont always have the subtitles at the botom. Change it up so they cant simply edit it out!*

At first, i watched your video just for practicing my listening, then i found it's interesting to see my country from the perspective of foreigners. Although i don't agree with some of your points, but most of your opinions are objective and true. Hard truth may hurt someone's feeling, but facts are facts. I think you should open your own channel on BILIBILI with English subtitles, don't let translation twist your words. Good luck and be awesome.

I think some of it could be trolling. Some trolls are clearly -or have a hint of being- facetious or satirical, however many other just like to make messes for fun and say hateful things even if they don't even believe it much or at all.
Hi, ADV. Very nice to see your videos. I understand both of your feelings towards those haters. But, sometimes you should also understand them, especially from China. I am a college student now in the US, from China of course. Since I am from China, I know that how Chinese people feel when they watch such videos about China produced by foreigners at the first time. It is like "is it blacking China again?"...especially for people who don't understand English. This is not because Chinese people hate western naturally, it is because that western social media have been keeping blacking China for several decades. That is so annoying to Chinese people. They don't understand China, but they just slander China and destroy China' image as a job, I means someone will pay them if they do so. This is immoral, but we cannot do anything about it. The result is that Chinese people become kind of sensitive to those videos and media. When I came to the US and used the social network, I found a lot of videos on youtube which are "blacking" China and they are not true. Most of their attitudes about China are still back in 1970s or 1960s. For example, one thing they keep "blacking" is the Chinese communist party. But, the fact is that the party is changing. Every new generation is better than the last one. China has changed, CCP has changed a lot. But western media just keeps demonizing China and the party. The only 3 things western media is always arguing about are democracy, human rights and freedom. They NEVER GET BORED. You two live in China. You guys probably know how these 3 things work in China. We have these 3 things obviously, but they just don't want to face them.Also, things are totally different in two different countries. How can they mix them up together?? National situations are different as well. Those videos on youtube make me angry sometimes, but again I cannot do anything about it. So, thanks for showing the real China to the people on youtube. I really appreciate that!
This helped me to understand the .ch position a little better. I was starting to think you guys couldn't take a little criticism with a good honest report, like I keep coming back to see from the ADV crew. Now I see it's not so much about their experience with these guys, but with most people 'making money blacking China'. It's pretty clear these two are not doing that, and do share the love they have for the country - it's part of why I watch them - but also to see the honest criticisms, which come as part and parcel of any location.. and they are important things to know too. Thankyou for helping me understand why a little better.
I don't understand why someone would have such a problem with two people in love, that they take time out of their own lives to hate on them online. If you are really so vile as to think that there is some idea of white purity or what have you, keep it to your own life. You might have a right to say what you think, but you don't have a right to control others and tell them how to live their lives. Keep up the awesome content :).

David McGinnis I hope you'd have the opportunity to tour China. It's really different from western media. I'm a Chinese young people oversea. We know we need to live a richer, more convenient, more comfortable life. There is no war on our land, no war to others. If others say we are not good, we will not go to discredit others, in Chinese culture, discovering the advantages of others to learn, find defects of others to avoid, that is the survival wisdom for thousands of years. However, if foreigners attempt to occupy our territory and peep at the regime of our country , that will be the greatest challenge to our dignity. Most Chinese will resist. Thank you. China will always open for kind and wise person.

I love you guys. I'm planning to move to Guangzhou in November of this year along with my lovely "guangzhouian" girlfriend of 5 years and it'll be my first time ever visiting china. What you guys do is fantastic and you're a vital resource for people like me who are culture conscious and really just want to feel prepared. Watching these videos has also opened up a plethora of subject matter for good conversations with my gf every night. She enjoys the fact that I know more about her ways of life and people. She's always appreciated my striving to understand and respect her culture. Its good on both ends and that's something that's rarely ever even asked for. Keep making the videos, as you said. Haters gonna hate. But realistically, I work with alt right paramilitary contractors for 12 hours on a daily basis and I took bad talk from some of them. But what I've noticed is that the people i work with who havr actually been to China were supportive and a bit envious, and people who hadn't would poke fun at first. But the haters would meet me for dinner and they'd meet her as well. Their brash attitudes were quick to diminish. Its interesting. The hater mindset is propagated by a stubborn sort of jealousy and realized with a slew of passive negativity but it's so easy to breach it. People open up so fast because they don't even understand why they're hating to begin with. As far as the pure race thing goes, that's a little Hitleresque and I'm happy to not have met with too much of that. What I have dealt with was a rocky series of escalated dinner table slander and on one occurrence a nice fight that I mastered with my mma background, which ended up being the next thing that this guy ended up hating on which is a perfect physical example of your points. Yes, there is. Extreme views from either end of the scale should be shunned. It means that their minds are closed and they are incapable of learning new concepts. The extreme left is equally as pig-headed as the far right.
Winston and C-milk, in Chinese there is such thing called "炒作（chaozuo)". Chinese actors or actresses will in fact purposely make negative news about themselves, usually designed by their contract managers. The study and history show averages Chinese will pay more attention to negative news. So that these actors and actresses gain more influence and popularity than regular actors and actresses. The more negative it gets, bigger the influence to society it gets. So Winston and C-milk, it is actually a good news that you guys making so big of the influences on youku and bilibili. Another suggestion is since your video is getting onto youku and bilibili no matter what, why don't you open official youku and blibili channels and accounts. Have someone you known to do translations and worldwide upload simultaneously. Winston and C-milk, you guys are going to be rich!!
I think it would be a good investment for them to hire someone to add Chinese subs to both TH-cam videos, plus like you said for videos to be uploaded to Chinese distribution mediums as well

The hapas who've been hating on you definitely don't speak for all of us. Many of them are the r/hapas type narrow-minded person whose anger seems to stem from an unhappy marriage that doesn't make an effort to understand the other culture, which is not my case and definitely not yours. I view my background as a cultural blessing and my life has been so much the better for it (and I think it definitely brings the world closer instead of splitting it). BTW I don't think uploading videos onto Bilibili makes any money though, and now Bilibili's viewer range is relatively young so they do get misled very easily and spam ''弹幕''.
I think that might just cause more chaos. Now imagine who are the teenagers on bilibili are going to believe, their own fellas, or people like us who are clearly "on Winston's side". I feel shame for those who steal your videos using very biased clips. I think they just want to attract eyes and play counts. China's economy develops so rapidly, we Chinese do make a a lot progress and improvements towards modernization, which make Chinese people more and more confident than what we used to be in the last century. However, some Chinese individuals are not truly confident, they cannot accept criticism especially from foreigners. Although I can understand those who we call “glass heart”, since everyone like praises of their own country instead of criticisms, I am very much against these behaviors. As a Chinese who live overseas, I've been to many foreign countries, there're a lot things I do like, and a lot of things I dislike, like or dislike are just normal human emotions, every one have the right to like or dislike something. I have seen some uploads either in this channel or in Laowhy86, I have to say you guys are doing fantastic jobs for introducing a real China, and give you a big thanks. I can feel your love for China, and also those aspects China is not doing so well, from foreigners' perspectives. In addition, I think more and more well educated Chinese people are quite open-minded now, just as an ancient Chinese saying “君子和而不同” which means "real gentlemen can get along well with each other while they could have different opinions". Wow, I can't believe I just finished my most lengthy comments on youtube.

They are in freaking CHINA!!! the land of the cheap workforce! They should hire someone to translate the videos for them, for some BMR (or whatever is the name of the currency over there).
RMB is the currency. I think it'd be best for them to do the subtitles, maybe Vivan could help with the translation, but both Matt and Winston speak English and Chinese very well. I'm not sure about their written Chinese though. My worry is that they'll get a bad translation for the same reason that they're getting attacked by other Chinese people on bilibili and the like.
Like I said in other thread, haters will just crop out the part of the video where subtitles are, or blur/blank them out and put their own subtitles on top. You can't win with them.
But, at least it will make their life harder. So I guess it still could be done.
What I found interesting is that, every time I read hot section comments under your videos on bilibili, there were always some guys pretended to understand english and tried to tell us what you guys were talking about. And what happened is, they wrote stories that have nothing to do with the video, but still gained 500+ likes...
That's the worst part is people spreading lies and no one questions them, then people will come to our youtube channels from there and write hateful comments in Chinese because they can't understand English, I'm glad that people like you can understand

Same here! I’ve gained a much deeper understanding of Chinese culture. It shows how the US corporate media like to make China the boogeyman. They often times depict this country as a monolith, with well-thought-out plans of world domination.
In reality, from what I’ve gathered, the CCP is a disorganized state run by criminals. Their educational system or lack thereof is in no way superior to the West.
In a nut shell they are corrupt, incompetent and far too obsessed with Western culture. This saving face mixed with wolf warrior diplomacy could very well be their downfall.

The only way you can have this done is to find a Chinese friend as partner to have an official channel on Bilibili, good translations and I mean really good translations and subtitles. In fact, I feel that's a good way to do it. Being a Chinese myself, I find your videos very very entertaining to watch, I'm sure there are a lot of like-minded people in China.

I think you are doing great by present what's in there objectively. I am a Chinese living in the US. Every system and country have their own problems. China gets its own and so does the US. People are usually very narrow-minded because they never get a chance to get outside of the country to see the rest of the world. That's why communication is so important to let people know what looks like in another place in this world no matter it's good or bad. We should keep the good things and improve the bad things. This rule applies to every country and every individual.
And that's why these migrants are so important. They build bridges.

I think sometimes it's about the titles of the videos, like "Is Chinese girls easy", "Is Chinese lawless" etc. The titles alone would make those haters wanna hate regardless of what you actually said in these videos.
That Planet, Pluto same here, first impressions are also a big part of how we perceive things. Ive litterly cringed at some of the things they've said and done but they have changed my opinion of China for the better. I now consider China, Japan, Korea. As Americas greatest allies and I have more respect for them rather than most European countries.
I do still have much love for Netherlands, Belgium, UK, France and Greece. Especially the UK and the sacrifices they've made willingly for America, but countries like Germany I do not respect as much because they will not pull their weight in NATO. I don't hold it against their people and still like most Europeans(except the ones who hate America) the feeling is mutual for them.
While I agree the title shouldn't be so misleading, they are judging a book by it's cover pretty much.

I grew up in Hawaii, and despite the prejudice there, it was widely and I think generally agreed that mixed-race children and adults were the most beautiful. I mean pretty much everybody seemed to agree on that except the most racist types who just hated everybody anyway. If there was any argument among ordinary people, it was on the order of, say, Which tends to be more beautiful, Asian and white? or Asian and Hawaiian? or etc etc. And as to getting along, they got along at least as well as anyone else because they tended to be accepted by everyone and not shunned by anyone.
Pro Tip: Upload your own videos to Billy Billy with proper captions. This will help enlighten the general population that doesn't comprehend English.
Why not hire some Chinese people to go back and subtitle your biggest hits and then upload them yourselves? Seems like you could monetize and start your own following there. Would cost a bit, but might be worth it in the long run.
This video somehow changed my opinion towards you guys and this channel. I found both of you guys' channel not a long time ago, and to be honest I didn't feel many friendly air toward China in these channels at first. Due to many years of life experience in the "hometown of anti-China movement" (NYC), I thought you guys were not different from "China uncensored" at the beginning. But I soon realized that was not exactly true, although some of the content in this channel still far from "friendly". I guess you guys are just being honest, or "too blend in", and trying to view China in the way as same as local Chinese. Since you guys have been living in China for so long, that shouldn't be surprised. I believe what you guys doing now is beneficial to China after all, by showing how the real China looks like: not the Xanadu as what Europeans used to believe, not the hell that full of devils as what some Americans still believe either. It just China. So, keep up the good work!

Hi, ADV. Very nice to see your videos. I understand both of your feelings towards those haters. But, sometimes you should also understand them, especially from China. I am a college student now in the US, from China of course. Since I am from China, I know that how Chinese people feel when they watch such videos about China produced by foreigners at the first time. It is like "is it blacking China again?"...especially for people who don't understand English. This is not because Chinese people hate western naturally, it is because that western social media have been keeping blacking China for several decades. That is so annoying to Chinese people. They don't understand China, but they just slander China and destroy China' image as a job, I means someone will pay them if they do so. This is immoral, but we cannot do anything about it. The result is that Chinese people become kind of sensitive to those videos and media. When I came to the US and used the social network, I found a lot of videos on youtube which are "blacking" China and they are not true. Most of their attitudes about China are still back in 1970s or 1960s. For example, one thing they keep "blacking" is the Chinese communist party. But, the fact is that the party is changing. Every new generation is better than the last one. China has changed, CCP has changed a lot. But western media just keeps demonizing China and the party. The only 3 things western media is always arguing about are democracy, human rights and freedom. They NEVER GET BORED. You two live in China. You guys probably know how these 3 things work in China. We have these 3 things obviously, but they just don't want to face them.Also, things are totally different in two different countries. How can they mix them up together?? National situations are different as well. Those videos on youtube make me angry sometimes, but again I cannot do anything about it. So, thanks for showing the real China to the people on youtube. I really appreciate that!
This helped me to understand the .ch position a little better. I was starting to think you guys couldn't take a little criticism with a good honest report, like I keep coming back to see from the ADV crew. Now I see it's not so much about their experience with these guys, but with most people 'making money blacking China'. We know we need to live a richer, more convenient, more comfortable life. There is no war on our land, no war to others. If others say we are not good, we will not go to discredit others, in Chinese culture, discovering the advantages of others to learn, find defects of others to avoid, that is the survival wisdom for thousands of years. I love you guys. I'm planning to move to Guangzhou in November of this year along with my lovely "guangzhouian" girlfriend of 5 years and it'll be my first time ever visiting china. What you guys do is fantastic and you're a vital resource for people like me who are culture conscious and really just want to feel prepared. Watching these videos has also opened up a plethora of subject matter for good conversations with my gf every night. She enjoys the fact that I know more about her ways of life and people. She's always appreciated my striving to understand and respect her culture. Its good on both ends and that's something that's rarely ever even asked for. Keep making the videos, as you said. Haters gonna hate. But realistically, I work with alt right paramilitary contractors for 12 hours on a daily basis and I took bad talk from some of them. But what I've noticed is that the people i work with who havr actually been to China were supportive and a bit envious, and people who hadn't would poke fun at first. But the haters would meet me for dinner and they'd meet her as well. Their brash attitudes were quick to diminish. Its interesting. The hater mindset is propagated by a stubborn sort of jealousy and realized with a slew of passive negativity but it's so easy to breach it. People open up so fast because they don't even understand why they're hating to begin with. As far as the pure race thing goes, that's a little Hitleresque and I'm happy to not have met with too much of that. What I have dealt with was a rocky series of escalated dinner table slander and on one occurrence a nice fight that I mastered with my mma background, which ended up being the next thing that this guy ended up hating on which is a perfect physical example of your points. Chinese actors or actresses will in fact purposely make negative news about themselves, usually designed by their contract managers. The study and history show averages Chinese will pay more attention to negative news. So that these actors and actresses gain more influence and popularity than regular actors and actresses. The more negative it gets, bigger the influence to society it gets. So Winston and C-milk, it is actually a good news that you guys making so big of the influences on youku and bilibili. Another suggestion is since your video is getting onto youku and bilibili no matter what, why don't you open official youku and blibili channels and accounts. Have someone you known to do translations and worldwide upload simultaneously. Winston and C-milk, you guys are going to be rich!!
I think it would be a good investment for them to hire someone to add Chinese subs to both TH-cam videos, plus like you said for videos to be uploaded to Chinese distribution mediums as well

The hapas who've been hating on you definitely don't speak for all of us. Many of them are the r/hapas type narrow-minded person whose anger seems to stem from an unhappy marriage that doesn't make an effort to understand the other culture, which is not my case and definitely not yours. I view my background as a cultural blessing and my life has been so much the better for it (and I think it definitely brings the world closer instead of splitting it). Hi Winston and C-milk, Can I help you uploading this video onto Bilibili? I can do a proper translation for the videos(Might take some time but its easter holiday soon). BTW I don't think uploading videos onto Bilibili makes any money though, and now Bilibili's viewer range is relatively young so they do get misled very easily and spam ''弹幕''.
