the added bonus with Winston is that he is from SA, so you get not only stuff about China you would never hear anywhere else - but also how it really is in South Africa...
As individuals the Chinese are great people - However, they are a proud nation with a civilization going back over 5,000 with a long memory - and they remember the invasions by the West, the Russians and the Japanese - and will not tolerate what they think is mistreatment by foreigners.
@@Winston1984 As a Native American, I don't walk the streets of the U.S. having animosity towards the general caucasian public about all the atrocities committed in the past that has brought our population to less that 1% of the total U.S. and unlike the Chinese, Natives are actually being mistreated by continuously getting treaties revoked, reservations divided, and promises not being upheld by the government but they are not used as an excuse to push a nationalistic agenda. Not to say the Chinese government doesn't mistreat their citizens, just that they shift the blame to someone else to save face for the CCP and the average Chinese citizen won't criticize their government.
@@champagneshowers299 Oh man, this where you are so wrong, You know, in there, law dose not allow private television station. Or any kind media for that matter. Miss treatment will never let any one know and it's against law to talk about it. There is a lot crimes that committed by Chinese to Chinese, to the point of big riot. Using nationalism for excuse. They are coward finding stupid excuse too do violence against normal people. And that's the one shit they think it's highest from of excuse of all. Because no body mess with big daddy here, but they usually forgot they are not the big daddy.
@@coolorochi I believe you man, I wasn't trying to say there isn't chinese on chinese violence that isn't reported on. I'm very aware of the censorship and I agree with you that a lot of excuses are made when it comes nationalism and the topic. And it is a really dumb, stupid excuse for anything really. I just used the Native American analogy because it was something that relates to me personally so sorry if I didn't translate it well to the topic.
OK, so you had your key copied. I have to warn you both that I just watched your "Leftover women" video, and you both have keys showing in the frame. Me being a locksmith, when I see a key on video I often create a still and check whether I could duplicate it from the image alone and how difficult it would be. Answer: yes I could, and not very. A lot of copyshops and all serious locksmiths could create a duplicate from a still shot of a key (tumbler, dimple or laser key doesn't matter, nor does the perspective). In the west most locksmiths will probably turn you away if you come to them with a photo of a key unless you have a really, really good & convincing story, but in China maybe they wouldn't? I've left a similar comment on a video where serpentza had a whole bunch of keys in his house in the frame in 4K (allowing for great shots of the keys). Showing your keys is giving your keys to the viewer. It's the same if someone you know can snap a picture of your key(s) because you left them out on a table or something. Now, it may not matter if random youtubers have your keys, but people you know will probably have access to the video material as well, right? Be smart about keys. The only key I know of that doesn't have this problem is EVVA MCS as it works with magnets. But that's a very expensive system, so maybe just use a plastic cover (or some duct tape) for your keys if they have to be in frame?
Good advice. Key molds need to be blotted out as well. Once what you've said becomes common knowledge, I suspect quite a few unsavory characters will use that information. Be it thieves, hitmen, governments.
Not to shit on the profession of locksmiths as a whole but half the time when I take the actual key for them to make a duplicate of, the finished product does not work. I don't see how just taking someone a photo of a key is going to work much better.
While on my way to work at an English training center one Sunday morning in Guangzhou I was attacked by a crazy homeless guy who was surprisingly tall. I had my laptop in my backpack and the guy was growling like a madman trying to take it away from me. After a push and pull struggle for about 10 seconds the guy started clawing at me with his long dirty nails, so I kept my hands on my backpack and started kicking him in the thigh repeatedly. The guy still wouldn't let go until I gave him one really hard kick and his left leg buckled. As he fell to the ground I pulled the backpack away from him. There I was with a fresh dress shirt and tie, only 5 minutes from work, my fresh cup of coffee from Starbucks now all over my dress pants. As I looked around, and the crazy guy hobbled away, I saw a crowd, including Police, bystanders, and security guards from the adjacent building. I couldn't hear what was being said, but I could tell from the looks and reactions that I was being judged for injuring this poor, defenseless, crazy, homeless guy. That was my worst experience in China.
"When someone is into shady stuff, then they are probably just a shady person." In Belgium we have an old rural saying : Someone who steels an egg, will steel a cow. Don't trust them ! That is valid anywhere. The story of the massage place is actually the same. The place was into shady stuff, so the staff had to be shady people. Shady people have no empathy. They just do not care about anything but themselves. It is foolish to trust them or expect them to be civil and reasonable.
I’ve learned this the hard way. Especially the last part you mentioned about people like this being reasonable. You can’t talk sense with assholes like this. It has nothing to do with which country you’re in, also, as you mentioned. People are people, no matter where you are in the world.
@@xcv505p that Japanese hatred towards Chinese sounds kinds different when you considered they have slaughtered millions of them in the last century alone
No. BAD ADVICE. The issue with buying fake sunglasses is that the lens are often just tinted plastic with no UV protection. NEVER take this risk with your eyes!
Wow, Chinese men sound really brave and not at all like 12-year old girls. Like "I'm gonna wait after I disagree with you until there's a big enough crowd all shaking their fingers at you along with me, and then once there's like 40 of us we'lll then get brave enough to fight you, but not continually or actually stand up to you of course, only hit and runs. Thaaaanks"
Getting beaten up over a dodgy massage is pretty bad but the sheer cunning involved in stealing a bike like that, that's real low. I'd feel pretty gutted too if that happened to me.
Well he was messing with a gangster that made a living from delivering contraband, probably got off cheap too. Only way you can deal with criminals in China without getting burned is if you are an OG yourself and one level above them, no matter how humble their origins.
That as my thought. I’ve always had my motorcycle chained to the garage. I’ve had bicycles and stuff stolen in the USA upshot is that criminals are everywhere. Betrayal is everywhere too unfortunately.
I just wanted to pop in a reinforce the "moral" of the story. I've always been very nice and trusting, with no problem making friends. When I got into drugs (I've been clean for like 4 years) I met dozens of deeply trusted friends, who were addicts. The thing with criminals, is that they're self destructive. They're already willing to ruin their life, so burning bridges by screwing over friends, is something that can easily happen. What's sad is, in most cases, they weren't "putting on an act" for a year. They likely thought of you as a genuine friend. That doesn't matter though, these types can steal from family. The point is, if you know someone who regularly breaks the law. If you know a criminal. Understand who they are, and don't ignore it.
That's true. It's obvious this guy wasn't putting on an act either. He wouldn't need a year if he was plotting something like that from the beginning. From that point of view, I wouldn't be mad with the guy. He just can't help himself. His weakness is stronger than him. I would only blame myself.
this is what I was going to say. The white boy is lucky the chinese runner didn't get busted, because he would have likely set-up and flipped the white boy for the crime (and that happens in the USA also btw). It's the way criminals are. The ONLY thing they understand is an organized crime empire that will **** them, and they sometimes test them as well and get wacked.
Bluemilk92 I’ve had the opposite experience when I was involved with drugs for a little while. I got to believe I had trusting relationships with some of them, who I later found out they were milking my existence and taking advantage of every single helping hand I extended. One even took advantage of squatter laws in LA to house other people while I wasn’t at home when he needed a place to crash every now and then. Stole/copied my keys, stayed in my building basement even when he got kicked out so I had to move. The drug I’m talking about for sure brought out the evil side of anyone but still those people I met were on an express train to hell with the malice they showed.
My parents used to say, no stranger can cheat you, its our nature to be cautious with strangers.. It's the people who we consider friend or trustworthy that can bring us down..
Fun fact on your "Ray Bans" all Ray Bans are essentially fake, along with all designer glasses. there is only like 2 glasses companies on earth and they simply license out brand names to their products. All glasses in the world come from the same handful of factories. Ray-Ban is particulary interesting, because in the 1990s they were considered dogshit $2 glasses you pick up from a petrol station, but they tool them off the shelf for like a year, and returned them as a "designer" brand sunglass and started selling the exact same product for literally hundreds of dollars. The sad fact is, the entire Glasses market is a scam ;) You'll find like 80% of Sunglasses, including Rayban are Luxcotta sunglasses.
The disgraceful behaviour of some Chinese has a lot to do with education, and the urban-rural divide. It's often found that poorly behaved mainland Chinese tourists abroad happen to be uneducated, rural "rags to riches" peasants. The nicest and most honest people you meet in mainland China are usually the urban, young and university educated, who usually can speak some English, are open to different ways of thinking and looking at the world, and will make good friends for life. The rural/uneducated folks' way of thinking is governed instead by nationalism, propaganda and guanxi, so their relationships with foreigners are very superficial or short term.
I've seen Mainland Chinese tour groups in Hong Kong that fit your initial description -- the first time out of the country, and they're not sure how to behave. I remember one bus tour group being escorted out of the restaurant as they assumed the food was part of their hotel fee.
They do the same in Australia, I was head of security and I was arresting 3-5 people a day in huge store, I had a teller operator try and befriend me, I thought it was weird, I thought he was wanting something, and he did ask me heaps of questions, it turns out that after I came and did my job really well and got a huge bonus there was very few arrests made even though there was still money being lost, it turns out that he was taking money out of the cash register each day for a year and because things had relaxed and lots of thieves had been caught it meant that eyes were now focused on him finally... they caught him. He then tried to use me to get a reference from the bosses to get another job. His ass became homeless real soon as he was gambling.
Damn this guy on the right, is such a shitty listener. He just told you he got pummeled by a crowd, kicked in the ribs, head swollen, police closed the case without much repercussion to the attacker, and all you did was laugh without forgetting to smile to the camera while enjoying your meat. Good stuff bro.
how's that? Because they said something that doesn't make China all cheery and glorified? Truth is only a dangerous weapon against those that have a reason to hide it.
This is the best channel I have found on YT in the last 5 years. Love it! Wish I were with you guys, I do a lot of business with Ningbo and would love to travel there.
Winston and C-Milk, I've also been living in Shenzhen for 9 years now. Have been really depressed in the last couple of years. Been recently "binge-watching" the videos on your channels and it has been absolutely therapeutic for me. You've restored motivation in me to re-purse some projects I had previously shelved such as writing my book about my nearly decade spent in China. So, a huge and sincere thanks for all you guys do. I absolutely love the brutal honesty you guys offer which is something that is so lacking here. You have no idea how much better you've made me feel. Cheers -Dan (feel free to Wechat me at dan1150 if you also want to hear some absolutely crazy stories and similar experiences to your own)
@ William - seems your defensiveness has no bounds. These stories really happened. Hiding them so you can paint a picture of your country only proves their point about your insecurity. BTW -- how are you on youtube if you love your country and its rules so much?
Mark Duchamp - yeah, accurate comment... The Russian Bolsheviks (75% jumen at executive levels) spread the communist madness to China. The only way out of the insanity of Marxism is to wake up to the programming and step onto the path of the individual. To know oneself. Release from Pretending!
It should be pretty straightforward. He knows the thief and he can prove the bike was his. He even knows where his parents live ... so why didn't he go to them ?
We have limited defense mechanisms such as melanin production in skin cells to protect our nuclei from UV radiation. Another defense mechanism is the constriction of your pupils to limit the amount of light into the eye, protecting your cornea. I was pointing out that wearing sunglasses causes pupil dilation, which can be more damaging if the sunglasses are not polarized.
BS. Polarising makes no difference. Neutral density glass is what you need. Dilated pupils is due to a few things. Firstly lack of light causes it. Allergies cause it, drugs cause it. Now the thing that is important is that the glasses block UV400 and shorter UV wavelengths. This is a chromic filter with a particular response. Cheap sunglasses may not meet those standards. it has nothing to do with polarisation. As far as UV, this damages the cornea because of ionising radiation. UV causes DNA damage which can lead to cancer.
I really like the concept of doing something completely different like eating, riding bikes, playing computer games or what ever. And just talk about experiences and stuff. I used to do this with one of my buddies, maybe that's why i like both of you channels so much. You said you found your stolen motorbike again but painted in gold. How come you just didn't report it or just turned the key and took it back into your possession? #ADVChina
That's an excellent question. I guess when you are dealing with lifelong criminals and you are in a country where police will be heavily biased in favor of locals and you suffered a psychological trauma from it, you may decide to forego.
There is an old proverb in China goes something like this, "Meat doesn't cook, u do not eat." What the meaning of this proverb? The meaning of this proverb is this: when u 1st get to know someone, u'r a raw meat, they will not rip u off initially. Once u know them well, u become cooked meat 'cos they have gain ur complete trust, then they start to rip u off and that was exactly in ur case. Therefore, beware of those who are close to u, even ur best friend(s). There u have it.
Very true...that's why I've learned that if someone is trying to help you, or trying to be helped by you, be very cautious. I've gotten scammed more by people wanting my help, than by wanting help. Now, I simply avoid both.
Ah man . just as I was about to sleep (4am , UK) Never mind. I'll give it a like, and watch it tomorrow. BTW that filter looks awesome. Really professional!
My worst experience in China was getting 'roofied' .. someone spiked my drink at bar in Chengdu when I wasn't looking. Fortunately i was with some friends and they took me home. But it is the first and only time I have been drugged.. It took about a week to fully get the cobwebs out of my head. My advice is to never leave your drink unattended..
Reading these comments is so confusing. Claiming that these two are spreading hate? What hate? They shared negative experiences that could have happened anywhere in the world. It just happens that these guys are in China. They've said MANY times how amazing China is and how they LOVE it. That's not hate, lies or bigotry. However these stupid HATEFUL comments toward them sure are all of the above. Stop being so ridiculous.
guess what, that is the the time when nationalism goes wrong. people with radical nationalism who receive the negative views from others, it does not matter it's true or not. they just get offended immediately .
Nationalism is like a soccer fan club. Two guys can talk sensibly in a bar about whos good or bad, but in great crowds, its becames basically a fight. Its always has been that way, it cant be reeducated out of the species- and politicians love to have a favourite footballclub, because that means save votes and support. I honestly dont see a solution to this. Maybe public shaming of nationalism, when it escalates into this can people to hold back. In my experience the whole affair gets worser though, when people are supressed alot in theire lives, be it at work or in private life. If then, some poor fool gets to be the only 'outsider' and fair game- the whole situation vents and some person becomes the peoples pinata of vengance for a miserable life.
Just recently subscribed and enjoy your content. As a fellow South African living abroad I understand where you are coming from. I do think that it is unfortunate that you seem to spend most of your time looking at the negatives of places and people. I think South Aftica like China has its problems and so do most places on earth but life and people has much to appreciate, come on dude look on the bright side!
I've lived in many places in Asia(Tokyo, S. Korea, Okinawa, Macau, HK, Thailand, Philippines) and my best advice is to be super careful no matter where you go. You're almost always going to be a target or an outcast. Surprisingly, S. Korea was probably the safest after Tokyo, of course. Nothing good happens after midnight, especially in Asia because that's when the drunks will attack you, sometimes with knives. If you want to work over in Asia I say do your research and learn A LOT about the culture before you go there. There will be several people that will probably be nice and take you out, just remember to be a friendly guest and stay calm in all situations..you did your homework about the culture, right? If you feel a situation is getting out of hand move quickly away towards the police station. Also, a big thing that will help you out is to dress nicely, this kind of tells everyone to back off this person has stature. Remember, be careful after midnight!
A good friend is currently considering a move to China in order to teach English. I pointed him to this channel as even I can see that this is a, sometimes brutally, honest look at life for a foreigner in China. I hope he's getting some good info from your work.
I don't understand your logic~ what if the tattoo is hidden under the clothes? :-/ If you have such a huge problem in China with all western people and you don't even care about those white people who actually admire your countries then burn in hell~ don't bring this shit to white people~ u cannot have it both ways either can you?
Look, again, you're talking about mafia.. I always I hear the same shit about Asians~ The Mafia, The Taboos, The Double Personality Disorder, The Poker Players, The Haters etc etc.. Do you people have anything human? or just shit? lol And on top of that you wanna talk about white people being disrespectful or what? haha Maybe some whites are and that's true but what the hell? First fix your own people and then talk.. Who the hell cares if you are a hater or a poker player? In the first case you are dumb and in the second case you're a proper asshole isn't it? The outcome is the same so nobody cares or appreciates you for being a hater instead of a poker player and vice versa.. For how long do you think you can foul the West? And your bad behavior is becoming popular now~ What will you do next? You will change overnight? I don't think that's even possible... If you were so clever, you should've known that secrets don't stay secrets for too long.. And much much more~ no need to waste my energy with dead people who are faking everything~ lol Fake your products, fake beauty, fake muscles~ is there anything human left inside of you? hahahaha I can laugh all I want~ What? Am I even the hater? I'm simply stating the facts here~
Your videos are really informative. I wouldn't go to China if you paid me $10,000 and all expenses for as long as I want. It sounds like a terrible place.
Why didn't you go get your bike back? He wasn't hiding. Call the Police, or just go take it back with the key, or 2 guys and a van/ute/trailer. I'm not talking about confrontation, wait till it's on the street parked, and poof gone. Why didn't you have the security guard (Or your other friends) call the Police and report it stolen right away, You have witnesses to who has it. inb4 "It's china" - I don't think a guy who's crowing achievement is a light in his mud hut has politicians or even thugs on the payroll.
@@aokosakano3037 No, I prefer friends over ststrangers, but I would never prefer a German (my nationality) stranger over a, let's say, Chinese friend. That's just ridiculous.
Other western countries are nice though~ you cannot say that it's okay for Chinese to be racists and almost kill you because in South Africa you would be dead by now~ it's like saying: I don't have any food to eat but look at those poor children on TV, they die because they don't have clean water to drink, therefore I'm great~ it's your logic that's wrong~ lol wtf
I met some white South Africans newly arrived in Australia, they call Asians 'colored', that is very offensive term, don't think they realize that, however I understand they were brought up that way. Overall I have bad impression of all white South Africans, they live in their own community even after migrating to other countries, they look down on others, is that racism? On the other hand I feel sorry for their situation in South Africa, no job, no food, farmers are constantly attacked by blacks.
I live in South Africa as an Immigrant. 99% of what you hear/think about South Africa is not true. We are fine here. Blacks/whites living together everyday lifer as normal. There are politics about land expropriation but its nothing to affect our daily life so far. Other people are just too paranoid that's why they create fake news. There is an issue of unemployment though so incompetent White people are blaming Blacks for their problems. Incompetent Black people blaming whites for their problems too.
My experiences in Hong Kong: when walking down the busy street footpaths, we walked in the line going our direction and my wife had 4 occasions where people changed direction and deliberately barged her, it happened to me once. She was walking behind me so I started putting up my elbows at head height to stop people from bumping into us. We then went into an unground walkway and at the entrance I noticed a person indicating us and a guy started following us, just to play games I suddenly changed direction behind a support post and stood and watched the guy frantically looking for us - I just stood there smiling when he saw me waiting outside a toilet for my wife.....
I went to shanghai last year for a dog show, i thought that my dogs would get a bunch of praise since 2 of them are tibetan mastiffs and one is a russian caucasian shepherd, Hime and Agata the tibetan mastiffs are 8 years old, 166 and 172 pounds and utok, my caucasian shepherd is 9 years old, 210 pounds. I was in shanghai for three days before the dog show so i walked around, my guide told me people would be asking for pictures so i said ok, and it was great, i met a girl, went for dinner with her that night, and i asked if she would like to join me at the dog show, the dog show day 1 arrived, i was a little upset that i didnt get to compete but one of the organizers begged me to stay and just walk around, the girl i met, mari was from japan but spoke perfect english, japanese and chinese and she kept saying we needed to leave because people were talking bad, i wanted to stay so we did. The next day we went together again and this time it was a different crowd, they were saying that my dogs were their culture and im trying to steal their culture and their women, i didnt respect anyone, a crowd gathered so i figured it was time to leave and as i was walking away one of the men put his hand on me and spun me around, that didnt go over well with my dogs, i had control of hime and agata but mari had utok and before i could even blink utok absolutly ragdolled this guy, i swear he got sent flying 10 feet in the air, security stepped in, the cops were called then it seemed like a game of cat and mouse, the police officers didnt ask me what happened they told me what happened, i didnt even trust the translator they assigned me because he was trying to get me to pay fines and medical bills saying it was "in my best interest" i was absolutly terrified i was going to have my dogs taken away and be tossed in jail, mari managed to get video of what happened and thats what saved me, the police called it a wash and i got to leave. After that i was supposed to stay in china for 3 more weeks but i just wanted to go home, i started getting sick, didnt want to leave my hotel and by day 7 mari convinced me to go to japan for the rest of my stay and she came with me, introduced me to her family and it was great from then on. One thing i can honestly say is that i will never go to china again. I have been to Russia, Nepal, Punjab and mumbai india and japan, i have never felt so out of place and ostracized as i did in china, the only good thing i got out of going to china was Mari, and thats the only thing im thankful for.
You know what? This channel has been really great recently and I even enjoyed it before. Cheers lads. What filters are you guys using to do this? Is it all adobe work?
I'd be curious to see the filter, I'm transitioning to FC from Vegas stuff. This vid in particular looks much better, at least for this sit down type of situation. Is this filter new / different than previous vids? Even compared to the one in the little Japanese food place, it looks better.

The quality of your life is derived from the character of the people you associate with. Actually I'd like to hear more stories like these. They are insightful.
Very cathartic to hear those two stories. I was all alone getting betrayed back in 2011 over there, and it's great to be able to have someone to relate to. So thank you.
I live in Brooklyn NY the Chinese took over many neighborhoods, i was crossing the street, the walk sign was on, some Chinese guy starts honking his horn trying to make a right turn screaming get the fuck out the road this is china.... I was born just a few blocks away from this and i have this yellow mother fucker saying this to me.. I looked at him through the windshield and said, look at the sign it says walk, you must wait.. We get into a verbal argument and gets out the car with a can in his hand ha ha ha . . A few cars back one more guy gets out runs over ,, i turn i said what do you want ? it was a short guy with tattoos and a wifebeater He said i was just looking out you guys don't fight.. i told him get back in your can now befor this gets crazy, he went back in so did the other guy as he is still yelling at me, he spits at me i break the window. they both get out i started to walk away they were pulling on me. i turned and said if you guys touch me one more time i will hit you back the guy with the tattoos grabs him and said lets go.. they knew they were 1000000000% wrong. So if they act this way in Brooklyn NY America How you think they are going to act in China???? they are so racist. i have so many stories. This will not end well for them the way they carry themselves.. Those ghost city's are for the refuges Chinese kicked out from every country around the world... remember my words … The rabbis have them under total control. remember that communism was started by the Bolshevik jews in Russia The Chinees are the best slaves for the rabbis thats why they are rising. they obey very well their rabbi masters
Great video. I've heard Winston's story already on serpentza but still interesting. 6 months was a long hustle for a bike but you have to say wow to his dedication to steal it. Poor C-Milk
Whats the deal with having to rinse the dish's before you eat? I've seen that ritual in other videos to. Why don't they just bring clean dish's in the first place?
T JAKE people in China don't trust it's cleaned properly most of the time so they just do it all the time, if you go to mid range restaurants your dishes come shrink wrapped
Many restaurants are giving their dish cleaning job to professional cleaning companies, so they will give you dishes are sterilised and wrapped. In Guangdong , restaurants give you a bowl to rinse your dishes, more like a tradition. I learned food microbiology , a simple rinse has no much help to clean, believe me.
serpentza you brought me here too, another sub haha, you seem like a decent guy, love that you communicate with your subs too. You both make quality content and honestly it's what I've been missing from youtube, decent long videos, informative with humour and not just idiots with cameras acting stupid, I'm tired of all that now, I want more like this! Would love to see you guys take it up a notch somehow but at the same time I love this, it's raw but professional at the same time and you choose your setting really well. I'm glad you're uninfluenced by people trying to turn you into sponsored content and keep your individuality. I just came to say good work and look what happened, I went on a blurb lol. I'll be promoting you to all my friends
Equally bad experiences for both of you. Thanks for sharing your stories. I feel sorry for you C-Milk. I ride and I had my bike stolen once. It's one of the most horrible feelings in the world.
C-Milk was lucky that was all that happened to him. Luckily he was not tricked into carrying drugs..or being entrapped in some sting type operation. As for Winston... yeah.. never fight a fight you can not win...in that case pay the money.. or try to call the police. Had he got on the phone they may have taken it from him. Penny wise pound foolish
These guys are trying to attract as many viewers as they can by exaggerating the things in China to meet the taste of the westerners, as you can see there are 2 times more viewers here than the other video 'The BEST Experience We Have Ever Had in China', if they don't talk about their bad experience in China, it will be very hard to attract more viewers. They complained about the foods are unsafe and beers are fake in China but they always enjoy eating the foods and drinking the local beer in many videos, how ironic it is! The truth is they like the great life in China, talking bad is a way to seek attention of more viewers.
Sad tales. I was in Vietnam and could share some tales. I laugh at people who say that the US is dangerous because of guns, but what you described would never happen in a states especially states like Texas or Utah, no business would ever do that or even permit that to occur and all the bad actors would have been not only arrested and put in prison for assault and battery, you would have been able to sue the business and all the employees who attacked you, along with the business for failing to call the cops. and the business would likely be put out of business. of course in the US rare few states even have legalized prostitution.
That is totally bullshit right there. That would never happen in America? A business would never allow that? That freaking happens here constantly! There are thousands of businesses here that rip people off on a daily basis. Also who said it was a legal "massage" parlor. Prostitution isn't legal anywhere in the US other than like one county in Nevada or something like that. You are right that's it's not that way in the US. They punched and kicked him. Sure that's bad but he could easily have been shot or stabbed to death here. I love my country but we damn sure aren't any better than China or just about any other country. We all have flaws and blemishes. America is my home and has been for 38 years. I love being American and living in America but comments like you posted are what makes certain nation's think we are arrogant and self righteous.
@@TheBamaChad-W4CHD if it is happening can you post a video or report of it happening in the US? yes some business will rip you off but the police and the government does not ignore such blatant disregard for the law. nor would the police simply let people walk away after brutally beating a man! in the US if a business owner or the employees had encouraged people to attack a person, they would all be charged with assault and battery, and the person who was beaten would have a civil case against every person both directly and indirectly involved including those inciting violence. such a legal case would likely bankrupt every person involved most of those involved would face prison time. I had a good friend who was beaten by his neighbor he filed a lawsuit against his neighbor, and won his suit to the toon of nearly $100,000 his neighbor had all his assets including his house, seized by the local government and sold off to pay for the suit. yes he could have been shot or stabbed, however in the states or at least 24 of the states he could get a conceal carry licence, so he would have a significantly better chance of surviving an attack in the US, if he chose to practice his 2nd amendment rights.
im no sure about that..the way ive always understood it is that polaroid lenses are necessary (which these glases dont have) because they reduce sun glare on glare-reflecting surfaces (ie when looking through your windshield driving, snow fields etc)... its the sun glare directly bouncing into your eyes that is bad. probably doesnt matter much though in places like England and China where theres always A) Cloud cover b) pollution that the sun doesnt shine. i know here in Australia you basically want to rip out your eyes when the sun is beating down on you through the windscreen while your driving.
what's the worst that could happen wearing non protective sunglasses? it's the same as running around without sunglasses,so? being in sunny weather doesn't damage your eyes as long as you don't look directly into the sun for a prolonged time.
if sunburn protection is your issue, then wear sunscreen. who wears sunglasses to "protect" such a small surface area from sunburn when you could buy who knows how many bottles of suncreen for the same price.
Yeah I absolutely despise blind nationalism myself. Because of it people in my country view this place as something way above what it is in reality, and instead of acknowledging that reality they will accuse you for being a traitor for bringing it up. There's only so far this country can go if the general mindset of its people makes them ignore problems as opposed to solving them. Love the channel btw
It's the same problem in th US, especially now that we have that nasty character in the White House! It is causing international trouble, too! Completely unnecessary.
@@diane9247 , It's not the same level at all. You have no idea how awful extreme nationalism can be. I don't even talk to Russians any more, I know what will happen if I try, and I don't enjoy being spat on, even verbally. Again, Trump or no Trump, you have no idea how good you have it here.
That was a great video guys! I really enjoyed it. I'm just wondering is there insurance for your bike in China? Did you get any money back from it being stolen?
That "friend" going upstairs for hookers , and left without paying his own massage, leaving a mess to you, is the one you shouldn't hang out with. That criminal smuggler / biker, shouldn't be hanged out with either, after so much of his shady life being seen. These two events cannot be counted as China's negative stuff 100%, instead, it shows you two have tendency to engage in dangerous stuff.

Can you guys talk about Chinese TV shows that released recently? For example, In the Name of the People, The Surgeons, and the Ode of Joy 2(Releasing on Thursday). Because these shows reflect China's developing values towards things, I believe it will be meaningful to do an episode about it. Looking forward!!!
They've commented on Chinese tv shows a few times before. In general they don't appeal to the tastes of most foreigners and both Winston and Cmilk have said they don't watch much.
I'm pretty sure these guys don't watch Chinese TV. And they'll probably just comment that most of them propaganda and cheaply made so it wouldn't be a very good episode.
I admired Serpz' humble honesty in admitting that his very own homeland country (South Africa) has major issues ('corruption'). Always refreshing to see people who can look at themselves and even their own country without wearing rose colored glasses.
the added bonus with Winston is that he is from SA, so you get not only stuff about China you would never hear anywhere else - but also how it really is in South Africa...

@@randomguy10268 Do you ever get the idea that you might not be so smart ? Ever ?
Didnt know this,interesting.
I never knew this. I try to be aware of safety-related information and this is really useful. Thanks!
One way or another it got copied, but it sounds like he suspected the right person.
That is valid anywhere. The story of the massage place is actually the same. The place was into shady stuff, so the staff had to be shady people. Shady people have no empathy. They just do not care about anything but themselves. It is foolish to trust them or expect them to be civil and reasonable.

Well he was messing with a gangster that made a living from delivering contraband, probably got off cheap too. Only way you can deal with criminals in China without getting burned is if you are an OG yourself and one level above them, no matter how humble their origins.

Dude Milk's story hit me in the feels. I had a friend do me like that over 3k worth of car parts just like that....
Typical of some people, if you know they have a shady past, never trust them. Seriously. I can't stress that enough.
The sad fact is, the entire Glasses market is a scam ;)
You'll find like 80% of Sunglasses, including Rayban are Luxcotta sunglasses.

Cheap sunglasses cause the pupils to dilate, letting in more UV radiation to allow damaging the cornea. Definitely worth having polarized sunglasses
cheap doesn't mean unpolarised, and expensive doesn't mean polarised
NotableBias / By not wearing cheap sunglasses.
NotableBias / They weren't wearing sunglasses, were they? LOL.

Great videos. Can't say China appeals to me at all though! I guess you guys are doing the exploring for me without the hassle!

Chinese will almost always prefer Chinese over foreigners, no matter how the relationship has been.
dk666at what about whites??
dk666at so, doesn’t every country prefer their own kind?
@@aokosakano3037 No, I prefer friends over ststrangers, but I would never prefer a German (my nationality) stranger over a, let's say, Chinese friend. That's just ridiculous.
as a fellow South African living in China... I wouldn't go back either if some shit like that happened to me
Other western countries are nice though~ you cannot say that it's okay for Chinese to be racists and almost kill you because in South Africa you would be dead by now~ it's like saying: I don't have any food to eat but look at those poor children on TV, they die because they don't have clean water to drink, therefore I'm great~ it's your logic that's wrong~ lol wtf
Why not go somewhere else though?
Being white in South Africa is better though?
My worst experience are the toilets, hard to find one and there holes in the ground, some are communal as well,
Elaine Higham in mauritius most public toilets are just holes in the ground. It was very weird for me since im from Australia.
Shit holes.

Some Chinese overseas students have also been murdered by white abnormal rubbish freak in US,UK,AUS etc, they are also innocent!
No damn manner for you...
yo i know your friend burned you but did you try to get your bike back in anyway?
have you been watching video or what? police forced them to give him back his bike.
Was about to say, he knows where his family lives haha. But things are different over in China. It might be better to just let it go.

The question of Ismael Gomez was "Did C-Milk tried to get his bike back?"
I'd like to know too actually 😁
He said at the end "...and I lost my bike" so thats a satisfactory "no" for me.

What filters are you guys using to do this? Is it all adobe work?
I customize LUTs made by some of my favorite videographers. I use Final Cut Pro ~ C-Milk
I'd be curious to see the filter, I'm transitioning to FC from Vegas stuff. This vid in particular looks much better, at least for this sit down type of situation. Is this filter new / different than previous vids? Even compared to the one in the little Japanese food place, it looks better.

Very cathartic to hear those two stories. I was all alone getting betrayed back in 2011 over there, and it's great to be able to have someone to relate to. So thank you.

Great stories, guys - I always sleep with one eye open, myself...
I found out about you from your newer videos. But I love your older, slightly cheeky ones as well! keep it up!

Poor C-Milk
I love these old videos so much!
Thanks gentlemen, I was actually eating dinner while I watched this & I felt like I was setting at the table across from ya. LOL :-)
You two are great, I really like this series of videos of life in china, keep it up :D
serpentza you brought me here too, another sub haha, you seem like a decent guy, love that you communicate with your subs too.
Dodgy massage!!! My new favorite phrase! Lololol
I don't think I'd ever want to go to China. I'd need to be forced
@@icebaby6714 blah, blah, blah more views...it just isn't fair, stomp stomp. Get real.

Sad tales. I was in Vietnam and could share some tales. Here s a BBC World article that might provide you a future topic - A Chinese groom hired 200 actors to be his "friends" at his wedding and the wife's parents called the cops. www.bbc.com/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-39771689 Another topic might be the varying level of retirement funds by precinct since there is not much of a social security system.
FiscalRangersFlorida lol I'd happily take that money to be an actor.
230 Renminbi = $34USD !!! That's a crazy low amount to give/take a beating.
As they said, 'back then' it was quite a lot, so most likely was more than 34 USD :D
Eric O'Connor should be less since us dollars worth more back then.
Eric O'Connor the renminbi has been pegged to US dollar around 7 to 1 for most of recent history. It's only really recently that it has fluctuated.
He shouldn't pay anyway. Damn. Stay away from those shady places.
Kun Dong nah everyone needs a beer and a foot massage every now and then. And maybe a knob job for your friend.
SerpetZA your the coolest, Ray Bans rock !
Funny how in China the public is quick to kick someone but slow to help someone.
The most videos which I love the most is the videos of your Motorcycle shop. I know it seems impossible for you to get such videos, but I still expecting you will make such type of videos. Love
I had a good friend who was beaten by his neighbor he filed a lawsuit against his neighbor, and won his suit to the toon of nearly $100,000 his neighbor had all his assets including his house, seized by the local government and sold off to pay for the suit. yes he could have been shot or stabbed, however in the states or at least 24 of the states he could get a conceal carry licence, so he would have a significantly better chance of surviving an attack in the US, if he chose to practice his 2nd amendment rights.
only thing is those sunglasses dont actually protect your eyes from uv light tho.
im no sure about that..the way ive always understood it is that polaroid lenses are necessary (which these glases dont have) because they reduce sun glare on glare-reflecting surfaces (ie when looking through your windshield driving, snow fields etc)... its the sun glare directly bouncing into your eyes that is bad. probably doesnt matter much though in places like England and China where theres always A) Cloud cover b) pollution that the sun doesnt shine. i know here in Australia you basically want to rip out your eyes when the sun is beating down on you through the windscreen while your driving.
Just Pip AvE did a great video testing dirt cheap vs full price sunglasses, might be worth a watch. IIRC dirt cheap aren't as bad as you think
what's the worst that could happen wearing non protective sunglasses? it's the same as running around without sunglasses,so? being in sunny weather doesn't damage your eyes as long as you don't look directly into the sun for a prolonged time.
I wouldn't want to take my chances.
if sunburn protection is your issue, then wear sunscreen. who wears sunglasses to "protect" such a small surface area from sunburn when you could buy who knows how many bottles of suncreen for the same price.
Great stories!!
Winston & friend, is there flagl and cipro available if you have food poisoning.
Hey, you found your bike, but did you manage to finally get it back? If so, did you leave it with gold/white paint?
You are lucky to live in the US, you should have a little gratitude for all the stuff you take for granted.
I was born in the Soviet Union, in Ukraine. Came to the US at 16. I don't even talk to Russians any more, I know what will happen if I try, and I don't enjoy being spat on, even verbally.
Again, Trump or no Trump, you have no idea how good you have it here.
@@fennomanzoomer9547 , yes, you are right. Nationalism is good and proper to the right extent: not too much, not too little.
Sure blame the victims for suffering from some bad people in China. What a stupid statement to make- you know these men are well-traveled and experienced.
@@cubey_doo Soliciting prostitute and hanging out with smuggler bikers is not a "traveler" behavior. You are degenerated deeply to think this could not lead to criminal activity.
I'd be interested in this.
I have been watching your videos for only a couple months and yeah...what is Chinese television like?
They've commented on Chinese tv shows a few times before. In general they don't appeal to the tastes of most foreigners and both Winston and Cmilk have said they don't watch much.
I'm pretty sure these guys don't watch Chinese TV. And they'll probably just comment that most of them propaganda and cheaply made so it wouldn't be a very good episode.
Those drama doesn't suit the west. Ancient fantasy do draw a bit of crowd.
