Editing is on point! Especially because you are showing the original medals, well preserved and also from war footage... transitions are also pretty smooth, liked it a lot
The overlay effect is a great idea. Very effective. Sometimes handheld footage can be uncomfortable to watch, but yours seem well stabilized. Not sure if that’s in-camera or in post, but it’s appreciated.
Good job finding the seal (6:11)! It has a royal crest of Louis XV (15 February 1710 - 10 May 1774), with the phrase “FLOREBO QUO FERAR”, which means “I flower wherever planted", and it is the Latin motto of the Compagnie des Indes (French East India Company). On the other side, the seal should have a crest of that Company, which was adopted from French West India Company. The "tails" you see could be the bows held by the Native American people. In the middle it should have the Mississippi and a mound of gold, what was also seen/interpreted as the Ganges and the Himalayas. The seal is from between 1719 and 1769 (the end of the company’s charter). The Compagnie des Indes had a monopoly on fur exports from Louisiana and brought other goods from Europe to the colonies for trade (e.g., striped and plaid cotton cloths and muslins) . The company brought to Europe: spices, metals, coffee, possibly gunpowder. Ref: Davis, Cathrine, "Lead Seals from Colonial Fort St. Joseph (20BE23)" (2014). Honors Theses. Paper 2408.
I watch several metal detector channels and yours is by far the best. Love your overlays of cleaned up items and pics of the item as used or worn in history. Why would you find so many badges or medals in one field? Aren't they usually pretty rare?
Another awsome video! Keep it up. I love how you include photos of the things that you find. Really helps get a good idea of some of the things you find and what somthing is made from. Like that ring at the end, I had no idea it was from a coin. The little things that make you stand out from the others.
Hi from Canada I just subbed and your videos are awesome! My grandfather was stationed in England and he was a gunner and his brother fought in Italy. My great great uncle fought in the battle of Ypres and he was killed in action and never found. God bless them and all soldiers from then and now🇨🇦.
Thanks for all the videos Mike. I'm addicted. I'm not far away from you across the North Sea but my detector was stolen. Maybe I'll join you one of these days when I replace it. Keep up the great work - more videos please!
this was a long awaited video. i looked faward to it and did not disappoint. very good finds in the field and great commentary. i hope you make more videos with this upbeat new editing. very entertaining. great job mike :)
Hi Iron Mike. Nicely presented video. Well put together, very professional, and great finds. You’re giving me an itchy detector arm. Heading to France again next week. Had to bring it forward a month because of your inspiring footage. Good luck. Liked the macho ‘Treborious’ plug. :-) Thanks for the upload. Oh and the birdsong is a nice touch. Kind regards from Uk.
Awesome! Very interested to see the Italian Campaign item. My (German) late father fought in the Italian Campaign, but on the side of the Allies, because his family moved to South Africa before the war.
Hi mr mike always love the video and no fields are boring where history is found and how we ever going to know whats happened if no one looks every find has a story to tell greetings from steve in England to you and Patrick
Just found ur vid today, what a great video, loved the overlays and how it would have looked liked, you brought it back to life def gained a sub today hopefully learn more
Love your videos as a history guy i appreciate the relics and every item is a time capsule in itself. Since my grandfather was a paratrooper always dreamed of coming there and do a little detecting. Any suggestions on how someone could make a trip out of it?
Shout out from south africa... Metal detectors are super expensive here (R13=$1) so i truly enjoy watching as I dont think ill ever be able to afford my own. Thank you : )
The ring appears to be some type of coin, that was made using the spoon technique. which is commonly done here in the US. You stand the coin on edge and tap it repeatedly over and over all the way around with spoon 🥄 and it will roll over like that and you can make it into a ring very cool. It take days.
I went night hawking last night got a couple of nice hamerds and a Roman brooch with insane detail not cleaned it yet but there is some what appears to be red ruby. How can I send you a picture so people don’t think I’m lying on here.
Me too Maniac. Lived in Germany as a dependent. My father was stationed there. Before metal detectors. Im quickly approaching the age where the only way to keep this on my bucket list is through video voyeurism.
Editing but no need to do all that and frame it. I kept thinking my tablet was buffering. Keep to how it was and just put the pictures in a quick link with detail.
Is this a POW camp for German POWs, or one for the allies RUN by the Germans? You do not make that clear. The new software is great.Second site, German prisoners... got that.

Absolutely love the new editing! It just adds a whole nother dimension to it
This video was your best one. Finding something that personal is amazing. Think about the man hours that it took to craft that.
Love it
Damn I want that badge 😭
I really really like how you overlay what the item looks like in original condition! Wish more channels would do that.
The overlay effect is a great idea. Very effective. Sometimes handheld footage can be uncomfortable to watch, but yours seem well stabilized. Not sure if that’s in-camera or in post, but it’s appreciated.
The camera has a build in stabilizer. But also try to keep it as steady as I can. Thanks for watching Tim!
Great video buddy, as always! New editting style definitely provides added value! Hopefully we can go on another trip soon. Cheers.

Wauw, that makes it an awesome find. Thanks for helping out. Appreciate it.
I watch several metal detector channels and yours is by far the best. Love your overlays of cleaned up items and pics of the item as used or worn in history.
Why would you find so many badges or medals in one field? Aren't they usually pretty rare?
Simply because there were alot of soldiers stuck on a field for a couple of years.
I really like the editing with these pictures fading in, very cool to see how the used to look🤩
I like the way you show the find and then follow with the item in clean condition, original or in context. Great!
Great production quality. I think you have stepped up your game!!! Great Job!
Good to see you back in the fields Mike! Thx for sharing!

Wow! Fantastic finds!!!! I love your editing, from original find to historical pictures showing the artifacts!!!!

Stupid question, but what camoflauge pattern is that at 0:35 that your friend is wearing? What military? It looks cool. Thanks!

Hey Maniac. That’s e real shame. But, every cloud has a silver lining, hey? It does mean more for us locals to find 😉👍

Thanks for watching and the thumbs up Steven!
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting You're correct! And keep up the content, I love it
Is this a POW camp for German POWs, or one for the allies RUN by the Germans? You do not make that clear.
The new software is great.Second site, German prisoners... got that.
Its where German soldiers were held captive after the war. Perhaps should have made that a bit more clear..
It's a lead seal.
We can call you silver Mikr
Sure, that’s better than Monster Mike or Mushroom Mike
