If you're looking at your phone it wont send a message to the watch, because that's redundant, it's a smart feature, why would it alert your watch that you have a message when you're literally looking at your phone.
I received mine two days ago (BLUE) and I'm HAPPY! I used to wear a "fitbit knockoff" that I wore all spring and summer. Since I just had a birthday, I used some of my gift money to upgrade to Yamay, which was a Lightening Deal on Amazon after Cyber Monday. I am loving the "red fruit" knockoff AND the BP monitor and oxygen level settings it why I bought this watch! I already had the Very Fit Pro app on my phone from the previous tracker so I just had to unbind the old, and bind the new (my profile was already there - born in 1959 btw). With some health issues, I like how I can check my BP while exercising, as well as the heart rate. I'm on meds and need to monitor my blood pressure daily. I compared the watch BP with my BP cuff that I have and the watch is less accurate, but not enough to raise my blood pressure over it (ha! ha!). Yes, for under $35, this smart watch is worth every penny and so much cheaper than the major brands. Not everyone cannot afford a BMW or Lexus car, so why would we spend hundreds for a good fitness watch?
Got a Yamay ID205L for Christmas. It also had a full battery but didn't turn on until I connected the charger. That's probably necessary for initial wake-up. It updated immediately after "binding," and the O2 and BP functions are no longer there. They must have gotten tired of hearing complaints. The sleep tracker is amazing, if it actually works. The exercise tracker doesn't usually report time in each zone correctly. At least, they don't add up to the total activity time. It doesn't get GPS from the phone like it should, either. You probably should have glanced through the instructions briefly before trying to operate the watch. You have to enable Messenger, or any other notification sources, if you want them sent to the watch. You also need to turn on the Find My Phone function before it will work. Other than that, I agree, this was a brilliant review. Thanks.
Dude you really should learn how to use a product before you review it. All the functions of this watch work perfectly. Some people need to read the user manual.
Great review. I have been looking for more practical usage about this watch and this review really gave me the best idea about the Yamay. The added tongue in cheek humour also made it interesting.
