Nice to hear your thoughts. I have a 2008 XKR and find the fit and finish to be excellent. Its a 15 year old car without squeaks or rattles showing minimal interior wear. The glovebox soft opening in your car appears damaged or broken.

Aah… another tinkering needed… I wonder what part I need?

Just found this channel. Great to see a real life sort of review and other videos. Will be looking to purchase an x150 this year so nice to see videos on them. Thanks!

Had a look online . They are called glove box dampers. About £12-£16. I am sure it's easy enough to self fit. Problem sorted. Good luck, look forward to the next posting that you have done that.

2010 XKR owner here, for the last ten years. Passed 201,000 miles this week, and is still my daily driver and a pleasure to drive and look at everyday, still! It has also been the most reliable automobile I've ever owned in more than five and a half decades of driving. I will never own this good an automobile again. Hope you'll have the same experience.

Can’t agree more. I drive mine everyday and still love it as it’s my first time. Also can’t stop looking at it

Well put together. I have an XK also and they are a thing of beauty. Also consider they old made 51,000 odd in total right to 2015. Has the pleasure of a picnic and gala dinner with Ian Callum here in NZ (He is the clubs patron) and he said his regret was the XK ended soon after the F type. There were plans but there you go. Keep going! Cheers Keith

I agree with the other comments about the soft open on the glove box needs fixing I took my'n out and managed to bond it back together.
Exhaust sound can be enhanced without spoiling the smooth ambience by taking "fuse 19" out made my standard 4.2 purr at low revs (I've no experience of this on an 'R' though)
Fully agree about ASL should be on steering wheel my XF is even worse hidden amongst other similar buttons on centre console!
I've fitted a bluetooth receiver to the radio so can stream from my phone and would love to get apple carplay or android auto plunged into the screen maybe through the satnav feed, let's face it it's the worst satnav you can find in a premium car😢

Mines got fuse 19 out... That's the loudest it gets for me as demo'd - not complaining though

I had a BMW 6 series of the same age and can say the interior fit, finnish and design is far superior on the Jag apart from the rear seats lol. For sure there are some areas that are a bit flimsy but certainly no deal breaker. As has been said glove box damper needed, I used double sided 3M tape along the inside edges of the window switches, so fix is invisible. Enjoying your reviews, the XK is such a special car.

I quite agree with you. The flimsier bits are quite forgivable and don’t outweigh the positives.
With regards to the window switch repair… I purposely did that dodgy repair as a personal joke to myself. It makes me chuckle every time I look at it. I could have done a more discreet repair but where is the buffoonery in that? 🤣🥴🤪

You can pull a fuse to keep the exhaust valves open. Might be worth a try if you want a bit more noise

I looked and fuse 19 is already out…

A bit harsh on the interior comments. Driving is superb, my 2011 5.0 litre supercharged XKR is fab,. Good review though.

Interesting first review. I thought you hated the car with that interior opening!
I think it may be worth investing in a mount for your normal camera and maybe a bluetooth mic that you clip to yourself. Those glasses didn't seem to get on with driving. I forgot how low res 5mp actually was! Minor point, the national speed limit on a single carriageway road is 60mph and not 70. Don't get caught out on video!!!
Keep it coming, really enjoying your vids as I'm getting very close to buying one for myself.

Guessing this is the 4.2L, have you tried the 5.0 XKR, if so, which would you recommend?

    • @KausarClassics
      @KausarClassics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes this is the 4.2… I have driven the 5.0 and I personally prefer this one. It’s a more refined unit and the price difference isn’t worth it in my humble opinion. I also detest TATA motors and their gear selector knob

I'm surprised to hear that your car is a 2008 model, I have a 2007 and the easy way to tell it's a 2007 rather than a 2008 or 2009, is that it has the external antenna. The 2008 models (at least as sold in the U.S.) have the antenna incorporated into the rear deck spoiler, so there is no stub for the antenna in the fender. I wonder if yours was a very early 2008, or if the model years for purposes of MoT registration are different to what happens with the motor vehicle departments in the States, and your car would be considered a 2007 over here based on the month it was built. I too disabled mine by pulling the fuse, for looks and because even though the dealer I purchased it from had just replaced the mast, it had corroded a bit and was sticking (I live near the ocean and salt air from the fog will attack it; also I don't think it was a Jaguar branded replacement part). I also use a radio/bluetooth device, radio reception where I live is questionable even with the mast up. You should take yours over to the Continent and let it stretch its legs on the Autobahn or autostradas, that is really its forte very comfortable for a 200 mile roundtrip I frequently make at 70 or so mph average. I agree with you about the location of the ASL button, but the placement of the traction control defeat button is even worse--I disabled it by accident a few times, and only noticed because of the lit notation on the display. I'm enjoying your perspective on the car.

Doesn't the button on the end of the indicator stork change the dash to show temp? Also remember the budget for these cars was controlled by Ford so quality increased once they sold Jaguar.
