A thousand times better than anything Hollywood has put out in a long, long time. Brilliant performances by the entire cast. Perfectly directed. The soundtrack alone will make you want to come back for more.
Went into the theater a little skeptical about anyone trying to portray Bob, but Mr. Chalamet did an outstanding job. Great movie. I will definitely go see it again. A must see for any serious music fan.
It was definitely a labor of love more than anything else. I just saw it. I’ve been waiting since 2022 for this film. It was worth the wait. It was so beautifully shot and the mix of authenticity and texture I was so incredibly moved I wept through the whole thing. Memories flood back to those times and book mark my own moments in time. It’s emblazoned in my soul. Timmy is one of the greatest actors to come along in decades. 🙏❤️🥰
I watched it with wet eyes and a lump in my throat. The years 1961-1966 came back vividly: long-gone friends and late night conversations in places that no longer exist; ancient love affairs; vanished youth and wondering at roads not taken. Dylan usually was playing on the turntable. I completely understand.😿
The entire movie and cast were phenomenal! Timothee Chalamet was immensely stellar from start to finish! He clearly;y put his heart and soul into playing Dylan! I laughed, I smiled and I even had moments of water works. Oodles of kudos to him !❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I just got home from this movie and loved every second of it. The young kid who played Bob phenomenal plus the actors who Johnny Cash Joan Baez were great as well.
Saw the movie. Outstanding performances all around. Major props given to Chalamet and all the actors for singing the songs themselves. It seemed like a labor of love for all involved, and it worked so well.
One of the Best movies I've seen in awhile!! I wasn't really sure who B.D. was. I knew of him but had No idea how AMAZING he is! Hats off to the cast and crew! 😎
Amazing film. Every aspect done beautifully. Saw it Christmas Day and am going back early next week. If this movie doesn’t get multiple Oscars it would be a crime. Timothy Chalamet was spectacular.
I thought I was going to like the movie; I didn’t know that I would love it, but I did. Amazing performances and directing, as well as the quality of the soundtrack.
I saw a UK preview show last night which was full of Dylan fans. There was sustained unanimous spontaneous applause at the end, which doesn't happen much in England! It was a truly superb film, and I have no doubt that it will cement Dylan's reputation and popularity for generations to come.
No one can tell or question me again how great Timotheee Chalamet as actor. He is so talent and great actor in our Generation . I just wish him good luck what wil he bring to his the future role he will play. ❤️🙏
such a warm and cozy movie. saw it Christmas eve and it was such an authentic real film about music and all the lives interwoven through Bob Dylan's career. Very very beautiful film
I’m from Europe. When I read all these comments I get very excited. I have to wait till February to see this movie!! Being a Dylan fan all my life ( 8 years younger than Bob) that’s kinda hard!
I absolutely loved this movie; all the actors did an exceptional job, especially the musical performances. I initially had my serious doubts having known the Dylan history and Dylan's eccentric character, but was won over. I really believed I was seeing a young Dylan and Joan Baez. Oscar caliber movie. The sign of a great movie is the need to rewatch it again, and I will be doing just that.
I just saw this, and I did want to say this movie is as perfect as a movie can be. A tour force and acting, writing, entertainment, directing, editing, stagecraft, everything worked perfect. I'm going to be one of those guys that see it four or five times as I bring other people to go see it. Wow. I laughed, cried, thought, felt, but more than anything I was entertained. It's one of those movies that you're happy you spent three hours of your life to go see. Congratulations to everyone that had anything to do with this. And the woman that played Joan Baez knocked me off my socks. I don't even know her name, but I'm going to go creep through her IMDB to learn more about her and other things she's done. None of the actors over or underplayed their roles. And this is true from the leads to the supporting actors. Again, this was a magnificent production. 💯 Edit: I'm finished with my creeping. Monica Barbaro She was in top gun. I knew I had seen her before. I just couldn't place where. Regardless, what an incredibly talented actress 🔥
Such a brilliant and mesmerizing film. As a Dylan fan i had never heard the song to woody, and i was simply stunned as i listened to this masterpiece. Quite emotional experience and wonderful acting throughout tbe film.
The movie was great! Loved the period of his life I didn’t know much about - like his relationship with Joan! He was a genius and brought me back to listening to his music again.
Loved this film. I was pleasantly surprised by the script, the flow, the acting, the singing. You can tell that this was a labor of love to make. All the actors shined. Timothy is definitely the best to play the role of Dylan. He inhabited his spirit and he got Dylan’s affectations down perfectly. He spent 5 years taking singing lessons to nail that signature voice and it was pretty much accomplished. I will see it again. Thanks to everyone involved in making this film.
Awesome movie!! Seen it twice. I might see it one more time before it leaves the theater. If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend you do. Movies this good don't come out very often.❤😊
So disappointed the Golden Globes didn't see this movie the way I did! Timothée Chalamet and Ed Norton should have won! And the movie should have won also!
I thought Ed Norton was pretty outstanding too. I knew nothing going into the movie and it took me probably 30 minutes to realize who that was… Ed Norton! So for me, that was real acting because in this movie he Was the character.
Just saw with my girlfriends, was so good, listened to Bob Dylan greatest hits on Spotify afterwards. And loved Ed Norton as Pete Seeger, well done to all
As a kid running around the Village, dodging cars on Bleeker, too young to go inside the “Wha?”, glimpsing after hour get-togethers thru windows, the music was ubiquitous. Never actually met PP &M, or Dylan, but the movie captures the the mood of my childhood. Hope all the living crew of Al Grossman’s “Bear Commune” mates are as stoked as i, while viewing this magical film.🙇☮️💙😎🕉
A COMPLETE UNKNOWN is absolutely the best film/docu I've seen in many a year. At times I thought it was Dylan singing & I am an ardent fan of early Dylan. Chalamet is a brilliant up & coming actor. He puts actors to shame in Hollywood.
Great show, saw twice. Sad ending - returns the harmonica at last visit to Woody. Best scene: Simulation of Freewheelin' album cover -- walking thru NYC with Suze Rotolo. Runner-up: Bobby buys the whistle ... for Hiway 61. 🤣 Best line (Joan): "You know Bob, you're kind of an asshole." 😂😅🤣
Great movie. I was really hoping that there would be a brief Hendrix cameo since Jimi and Bob met once in The Village. Now we need a Hendrix movie that's as authentic as this is, and showcases his music.
I'm a musician and a vintage gear geek. (AES) yes! I was absolutely blown away to tears by the attention to detail with the period correct mics and equipment. That beat up old I believe AKG in the church scene brought back so many memories as a kid getting started. The Neumann hanging in front of the piano later in the movie. A quick glimpse of an Altec Lansing voice of the theater speaker cab at the Newport Folk Festival. I was just a little to young at the time but that put me in the movie.Thank you so much for such a great work. The only disappointment is that there is so much more to Dylan's life and career after where the movie ended. Maybe a sequel? I admit I had never been a massively huge Dylan fan but I love the period and this nailed it.
I've been watching Timmy do press for this and he's so animated and enthusiastic, but in this it's the opposite, probably because he's much closer to the character of Bob who hated interviews.
I hadnt seen a theater movie since Mulholand drive. Why? They were all the same, I got bored so fast. Then I saw this movie. It was snowing but I had to go. Wow! It was just thrilling. I will see it again. The drama of the time, the relationships, but most of all, the music. That the lead actors sang those songs...so much meaning.
I watched this film on Xmas day, alone in a theatre half full of people. It was 💯X's better than I had anticipated. I laughed, I cried and was left wanting more. Just 1 thing I did not like was at the end, having to read those words about what happened re: Dylan, on the theatre screen. I would have liked to see Bob Dylan and Sara Lowndes ride off into the sunset.
Can't wait to see this. Huge Dylan fan, only had a chance to see him live 3 times:06/20/00 in Medford, Oregon. Sick show opening for Phil Lesh &, Friends, 10/13/01 at the Bill Graham Civic in SF after seeing the Oakland A's vs. NNY in the Game 3 of the Division Playoff Series. "The Jeter Game" in both A's and Yankee folk lore. What a game. What a night, what a show. Long day since we ended up at the Great American Music Hall late night for DJ Logic after the Dylan show. Epic day. Last time I ever saw Dylan was 3 years later at the Santa Barbara Civic Center. 10/21/04. Wow those were over 20 years ago. Feels like yesterday. Also feels like 20 years ago. Timeless I guess is a good word. I heard that Bob was really happy with the way it was put together so thats saying a bunch. Otis Gibbs has a channel on here thats full of Dylan stories. Haven't looked up his connection to it all.
Wonder of how the portrayal of Timothee Chalamet as Bob Dylan, is gonna match to the previous portrayals of Bob Dylan such as Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger and Bob Whishaw?????
Seen it. It captures Dylan with his warts and all (note the comment that his art would come before any woman). If you're looking for buttercups and hummingbirds, stay away. If you know every part of the story and you're looking for a replay of your own understanding, open your mind and go. This is based on/inspired by Elijah Wald's book, and he's an extraordinary musicologist and historian. If you're looking for something that captures a good interpretation of Dylan and everyone around him at a particular point in time, or if you are a gearhead, go. I'm going to see it a couple more times to pick up on details I didn't notice fist time around. But I'm a film student and Dylan fan. I'd pair it with I'm Not There. Two very different perspectives on Dylan's chameleon-like evolution perpetually toward something other than what people want him to be.
A thousand times better than anything Hollywood has put out in a long, long time. Brilliant performances by the entire cast. Perfectly directed. The soundtrack alone will make you want to come back for more.
Exactly right finally a great movie. Great performances, great music.
It really was amazing. The Marvel previews that came on before the movie seemed so generic in comparison.
Went into the theater a little skeptical about anyone trying to portray Bob, but Mr. Chalamet did an outstanding job. Great movie. I will definitely go see it again. A must see for any serious music fan.
So true!!
Yes, indeed, a great movie. I really enjoyed it, and I love the soundtrack. Especially "Girl From The North Country", and "Maggie's Farm".
Saw this yesterday and going again on Thursday. Absolutely BRILLIANT!!! Do NOT miss this movie!!
I absolutely loved it! I would go see it again too! I might do that. It's still reverberating in my head.
Wow!! Chalamet is beyond brilliant. He really became Dylan.
It was definitely a labor of love more than anything else. I just saw it. I’ve been waiting since 2022 for this film. It was worth the wait. I’ve never been that excited before watching a film! Love love love!

I just got home from this movie and loved every second of it. The young kid who played Bob phenomenal plus the actors who Johnny Cash Joan Baez were great as well.
An absolutely fabulous movie!!! I am still singing his record breaking songs. Brought back so many wonderful memories!!!
Notable albums: Highway 61, Blonde On Blonde, Blood On The Tracks, Street Legal, Modern Times, Rough and Rowdy Ways
Amazing film. Every aspect done beautifully. Saw it Christmas Day and am going back early next week. If this movie doesn’t get multiple Oscars it would be a crime. Timothy Chalamet was spectacular.
It is one of the best films that I've seen in a long time.
Born in 1943 l grew up with Bob Dylan and his music I feel immensely privileged and grateful for the experience 🙏🙏🏿🙏🏽🎸🎸🎸🎸☮️☮️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
I thought I was going to like the movie; I didn’t know that I would love it, but I did. Amazing performances and directing, as well as the quality of the soundtrack.
I saw a Complete Unknown on Timothées Birthday and it was Phenomenal ✨♥️ 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨♥️
I saw a UK preview show last night which was full of Dylan fans. There was sustained unanimous spontaneous applause at the end, which doesn't happen much in England! It was a truly superb film, and I have no doubt that it will cement Dylan's reputation and popularity for generations to come.
🕺😎
I’m excited to see Elle Fanning. Love her in whatever she’s in.
A love letter to music and what it means to be a musician ❤
Great movie. It's selling out every show here in Berkeley. So impressed with the actor's musical and theatrical performances, especially Timothee.
No one can tell or question me again how great Timotheee Chalamet as actor. He is so talent and great actor in our Generation . I just wish him good luck what wil he bring to his the future role he will play. ❤️🙏
I absolutely Agree!! ❤
such a warm and cozy movie. saw it Christmas eve and it was such an authentic real film about music and all the lives interwoven through Bob Dylan's career. Very very beautiful film
Chalamet is Bobby Dylan, bravo performance!!! Luv how they only focused on 61-65❤
Edward Norton was spot on as Pete Seeger
I watched this movie twice already. I absolutely loved it. ❤ 🎶
I’m from Europe. When I read all these comments I get very excited. I have to wait till February to see this movie!! Being a Dylan fan all my life ( 8 years younger than Bob) that’s kinda hard!
You are going to love it!!!
It’s a fantastic film. I saw it twice 🕺😎
It opened here in Italy on Jan. 23. I saw it last night! Excellent!

THIS MOVIE WAS FANTASTIC! BRAVO!!! WOULD GO SEE IT AGAIN!
I saw it 3 times and would see it again!
Fabuluos, well-deserved movie. Thank you Tim. Bob has been a huge part of our lives.
I absolutely loved this movie; all the actors did an exceptional job, especially the musical performances. What an amazing introspect into an extraordinary collaboration and acting in such an atmosphere.
Our theater roared with a standing ovation
SO GOOD. Movie of the year ❤❤🎉🎉

I discovered Dylan in 1988. I was 15 years old. Positively 4th Street said everything I didn’t have the words to say… 👍🏽👊🏽
Great song 🕺😎
I haven't seen this movie yet but I'm already proud of "Timmy" 😆
This movie was really wonderful and honestly inspiring ❤️
I saw this Christmas day. I've seen Dylan 7 times since 2018. It was awesome. Want to see it again this weekend
❤ Brilliant tribute to.Bob Blessings x
Incredible movie!
Oscars please!
I loved this film. Everything about it was so well done. The acting is phenomenal.
Bravo🎉
We saw it Monday and I want to see it again. So good! Some of the story isn’t completely accurate but it does not take away from the movie.
Beyond Brilliant. Utterly captivating. So inspiring.

OUTSTANDING MOVIE, WILL SEE IT AGAIN. BEST MOVIE IN A LONG LONG TIME. EVEN DYLAN GAVE HIS APPROVAL.
Stellar in every respect.
Just saw it last night, loved it. The music was my era and I knew the personalities and the words of the tunes. Loved the early 60s.
I saw this today. Phenomenal performances.
I can't wait to see it another time, at the end I was moved immensely
A COMPLETE UNKNOWN is absolutely the best film/docu I've seen in many a year. At times I thought it was Dylan singing & I am an ardent fan of early Dylan. Chalamet is a brilliant up & coming actor. He puts actors to shame in Hollywood.
Fantastic movie
Now this is a movie!!
I noticed Timmy’s voice is slightly dylanesc during the interview
Excellent performance!!!
Would see multiple times!
This movie looks fantastic
Great show, saw twice. Sad ending - returns the harmonica at last visit to Woody.
Best scene: Simulation of Freewheelin' album cover -- walking thru NYC with Suze Rotolo.
Runner-up: Bobby buys the whistle ... for Hiway 61. 🤣
Best line (Joan):
"You know Bob, you're kind of an asshole."
😂😅🤣
No, he gives him the whistle 😊
and he sure did BECOME bob Dylan- the build was the chills
Great movie. I was really hoping that there would be a brief Hendrix cameo since Jimi and Bob met once in The Village. Now we need a Hendrix movie that's as authentic as this is, and showcases his music.

Can't wait to see it again!
GREAT MOVIE!! HE WAS EXCELENT!!
Definitely Academy Award material.
I just saw this a couple days ago ❤and now i have chills compulsively diving in to the entire creation of this beautiful production ❤ 🥰
I would have loved to have been in the audience of some of the concert scenes.
Last Waltz; Bob Dylan brought the whole show together. A musician's Musician. 🇨🇦🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Love J. Mangold ( men in trees) plus more.
Best movie. Best actor.2024
Love this compilation
This film was brilliant! Loved it
I think Cate Blanchett played Dylan best. She really captured the manner of Dylan.
I've been watching Timmy do press for this and he's so animated and enthusiastic, but in this it's the opposite, probably because he's much closer to the character of Bob who hated interviews.
I noticed that too. It could also be that he's simply growing up and maturing as a man. I think he's about 26 now, right?
@@stevekrause5931 just turned 29
@@stevekrause5931lol i think he is just tired. hes 29
Very interesting observation!!
I can’t wait to see this extraordinary movie. I’m from Minnesota and a huge Bob Dylan fan !
It's great. Loved it.

Great movie.
this will be amazing. love this actor

IT TOUCHED MY HEART ❤️ 💯 LOVE BOB DYLAN THE YOUNG GUY THE BEST CHOICE TO BE BOB ❤❤❤😂❤
I've been watching videos of both Bob Dylan and Timothee Chalamet since I saw the movie two weeks ago.
Wonder of how the portrayal of Timothee Chalamet as Bob Dylan, is gonna match to the previous portrayals of Bob Dylan such as Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger and Bob Whishaw?????
There hasn't been a movie to look forward to for a while. Well, here's one.
Sweet emotion
Fantastic movie!!!!!!!

Iv seen it love the movie and it brilliant
This just proves that we all can sing like Bob Dylan.
Timothy Chalomet was an executive producer on this film. It had to be good, its his name on the success of this movie.
🔥
Gonna win a lot of awards IMHO.
Bob Dylan the most important person of the 20th century and I don’t care what anyone else thinks.
