Okay I’ve been streaming Franks and fully letting viewers know I’m a noob, stumbled across this video trying to get better and I’m very glad I found it. Bravo to you sir, this is a great and easy to follow guide in a very confusing multi-faceted game, bravo! I’ll try this strategy out in my next ranked game and if it goes well I will post a video on my channel
Love this build order, boar first really gives you that boost and makes sure you scout effectively. I find i always get my scouts in before walls this way. Also as an added bonus it allows you to pick the best woodline rather than panicking on vil 7. I usually go for 3 vills on the stable and send my scouts in twos to the enemy, just in case the opponent really goes for his walls early or overbuilds his spears. If i see 3 spears i typically stop building and push for castle, if i see archers i whack a range down and go skirms. Castle is interesting, because at my low level i find some people go too much into spears (and if not an archer civ) a quick tech switch into throwing axes catches them out when they expect knights. Probably not meta at higher levels but there you go
Late reply but with the new Arabia changes this build order pretty nice. I think in the video you should say to get the boar asap since there are times whenI cannot find my damn boar by 7th villagers so I send 1 or 2 to wood and then to boar. I also try to get 1 or 2 deer in which really makes the build order smoother. Honestly with this and market abuse most of my games are ending in feudal or early castle age.
Hi! It should run smoothly enough because of the berry gathering bonus but yes, pushing deer always gives a good boost. I tend to not include deer pushing as i want to make the builds usable for any skill level, including those who arent confident with deer pushing. Glad you’re smashing it with this strat
Hey thanks! I’m glad you like it. The reason for the 1 tile away is so that, 1-you can wall in your villagers against a Drush/scouts/m@a and also it actually works out to be more efficient with Berries. Because it’s not a resource that lasts long, unlike a wood line so you won’t be remaking the building. With wood, if you do it 1 tile away it just means you have to remake a lumber camp sooner. Directly next to berries will result in too much bumping of villagers. Walling in is the big thing though
Also you want to have more villagers more able to collect the berries, as there no villager placement between the spot and the berries if the mill is 'Tetrised'
@@MorleyGames1 on a phone app, I found this build order but it has 9 on boar and 6 on berries, compare to ur 8 on boar and 7on berries before the loom. What is the difference? is it significant? I am total beginner to RTS games in general and I just tried this and hit Feudal Age at exact 10 min mark, what is the benchmark I should aim for?
@@MorleyGames1 also when I finished the last villager to camp, my 10th villager, I won’t have enough food for the next one so I have to force drop and it’s costing me time since my micro is bad lol

Some good tips there. It’s a great build for sure. Scouts in to skirmishers is always a really strong strategy too I find

@@MorleyGames1 franks get it for free man...
Was thinking the same thing, I always try to hold off on farms with Franks till feudal due to the free upgrades!
Thank you for your BO! I got one Question, why do you build the Mill one tile away? Wouldn't it be more effective next to the Berries?

Great content! Tnx.
No problem! Glad you enjoy it and it helps
Is this still the meta for Frank’s? Has anything changed since you made the video?
Hi! This is still meta :-)
anything changed going into 2022 for this build? or for this meta specifically?
Hi, no, nothing changed. The civ hasnt had a buff or nerf

Is this build order still valid and the most optimal for franks?
Yes :-) without deer pushing. Can do 18 pop with deer, maybe 17 at a stretch
Hey, like ur channel. are you nathan from the reefer channel? at least you sound like him! 😁
