Core Zentangle is created using black ink on a white Zentangle tile or good quality paper. I recommend to use the best quality paper you can get hold of as this makes a big difference to your creative experience.
Using black on white sets an “Elegance of Limits” which, paradoxically, leads to a calmer, more relaxed tangling experience and creative inspiration.
The Zentangle Method is a fun, easy to learn and mindful way to create lovely images by drawing structured patterns.
I would recommend that beginners seek out a Certified Zentangle Teacher and take an Introduction to Zentangle class. Many of us teach online or have recorded classes, so you can access a class wherever you live. This will give you a really good understanding of how to create Zentangle and a confident base upon which to explore your own Zentangle journey.

If you are new to Zentangle I would recommend that you take an Introduction to Zentangle class as this will give you the core elements of the Zentangle Method, some key tangles and techniques and give you the confidence to crate your own Zentangle art.
