Wow, your play looks true Rastan. They say it Conan as the game is based on the movie Conan, the barbarian. It's really hard game and I could not even see the first boss waiting after fire traps. I love the background music (BGM) and the BGM was top class. Particularly it is wonderful when it combined with the effects of thunders and lightenings called by the fierily angry dragon who lost all the followers. Rastan move forward without fears and it is his courages and powers that makes me feel hero. This is macho game all masculinity is to always dream for higher vision and stronger arms. He actually is based on the the original book Conan. That's why the intro was removed from the western version Taito was afraid the Robert. E. Howard estate would sue them.
I believe my 7-Eleven had a test version of this game. The soldier enemies that are green were black on the one I played. All the other characters were colored normal. Also it looks like you were playing this on an easier setting? I didn’t see any flock of bats attacking you in any of the castles. Non the less great job!

I love this version, you get more depth of story with Rastan Saga (Japanese game) than with the non-Japanese. You hear Rastan's voice, you get more into the story, you care more.
At 2:55, if you stop and walk back left, to scroll that rope you just climbed back on to the screen, you will get a guy who, when killed will ALWAYS drop the ring! You can just see him appear and disappear in your video. (That's a mega-tip from me... the king of rastan!)
the cloak reduces damage by halve, the shield reduces dmg of proyectiles or fireballs, the ring makes your attack faster and also increases the duration of special weapons like the flaming sword or axe , the necklace doubles your points with each kill or gems collected and the staff or scepter makes more gems to appear

このゲームは出たときは1面で死にまくりで全然進めませんでしたが、後にやりこむと1コインクリアできるまでハマりました。爽快感溢れるいいゲームですよ。1面ノーミスでクリアできるようになれば4面のボスで死なない限りハマりはありません。1面回復アイテムがあんまり出ないのでハマるときはハマります。２は全く別物のクソゲーですので触らぬが吉です。

ラスタンサーガは一見するとえげつない高難易度に思われますが、一つ一つを丁寧に進めていくと難易度は高くありません（４面のボスで射程の長い武器を取れないとハマリますが、それ以外はハマリはありません。）。あと、オレンジ色の薬は体力が少し減ってしまいますが、10,000点もあるので体力に余裕のあるときは積極的に取るのが、当時のハイスコアラーのセオリーでした（時間さえ掛ければ意味なく稼げてしまうので、ハイスコアー集計で私の1,000,000点オーバーは認められることなく、直ぐに終わってしまいました。）。
幻想的なグラフィック、OGR氏による壮大なBGM、やりこめば必ず上手くなれるゲームバランスと紛れもない名作でした。
キャラクタが大きくなってのは良いですが、グラフィックの描き込みと動きが荒く、操作性の低下と戦略性もない「Ⅱは生まれてはいけない子」だったのに、当時悲しくなりました。

Top game of 87. Although the arcade game board says 1986!
Taito made up for it with Rastan Saga 3, an epic ending to the trilogy. Called Warrior Blade in MAME.
