    I work for one of my best friends and he has a Hitachi ex160lc and a hitachi zaxis160lc with a Craig quick connect with a clean up bucket. And he's also got an older ex100 Hitachi and those 3 machines have been such good machines. The ex160 has 28000 hours and the only major issues have been the shafts that drive the planetary gears in the final drives needed to be replaced and planetary basket and gear set on the swing motor needed to be replaced. It's still running on the factory engine and hydraulic pump which neither have been opened up. And this machine has been very very well use. Oh and the undercarriage has been rebuilt once. And some welding on the booms. Hitachi makes very durable quality machines.

    You should try a Kobelco ED160. It is actually a 135 upper on a 200 lower to handle the 6 way dozer blade. I have one and like it alot.

    Best digger you’ll get. We have two 130’s. They are absolutely flawless machines and so easy to grade ( we have no GPS) and really eco on fuel.
    Would 100% recommend this digger.

    A contractor we deal with got rid of a Cat 320 and got a Hitachi 200. Employees liked it so much the owner bought a second Hitachi 200.
    However they kept a Cat 345C. They do land clearing ,rough grade and final grade.

    Didn't you end up getting the 316? Do you have a strong Volvo dealer where you are? If I remember right didn't you run Chris' Volvo? or have you? I can't remember.

    As rocky as the soil is where you live, I wonder if some type of soil sifter or grizzly bar box would make a good investment for you. Seems to be that you spend a lot of time having to pop rocks out when you are grading. Then you are left with what to do with all the rocks? bury them or sell them or something else?

    • @DirtNinja
      @DirtNinja  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We usually bury the rocks and generate good fill. But we are actually looking into grizzly bars for this next year

      Try a skeleton bucket, I have 3 of them and they work great in our NH soil!

    • @ohhpaul7364
      @ohhpaul7364 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bobshappell3502 I completely forgot those exist when I made my comment. That is a good idea with him already having the quick attach coupler, plus it saves space and probably is easier to move around that a grizzly bar box. I don't know, we don't have to deal with rocks the same way where I live.

    Will you test Liebherr excevator? Do you even have Liebherr in US? We in Europe have a lot of them and there is reason for that because its one of best brands you can buy. If you are serching for 16 ton class machine, mayby try some whelled excevator? it has a lot of benefits and and it perfectly fill gap between excevator and loader but its not tlb its a lot better than it.

    • @The_blindpizzaguy1300
      @The_blindpizzaguy1300 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Liebherr excavators are not seen much here in the US. The reason why is because if for some reason they need to be serviced there are not too many places that have the knowledge and the know-how to fix them. I have seen a few though at different construction sites, but the appearance is very rare. As far as ratios are concerned there is about 15 Catapillars to 1 Liebherr.

    • @wiktorlol9800
      @wiktorlol9800 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alex Williamson's blind adventures Good to know, how is it with whelled excevators do you have any in US?

    • @briangardiner1015
      @briangardiner1015 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wiktorlol9800 Those are even more rare. I would say for every 40 track excavators there might be 1 wheeled. I can see the advantage to a wheeled excavator, but they just haven't caught on here yet.

    • @toddreynolds8875
      @toddreynolds8875 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wheeled excavator would be good for driving off a high cliff. I cant even imagine using one in types of soil/and non stop boulders we excavate in southern new England. Someday we will get some videos up. Blows my mind. The soils these guys. And letsdig. Are in compared to new England boulders

    • @toddreynolds8875
      @toddreynolds8875 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Liebherr never did to well over here. Terrible parts department. They do well with there crane sales in the us. There old wheel loaders were good. But the last 5 yrs loaders are total junk. Cant keep a transmission in them. And they wont back the dealer or owners up. So the few dealors left are getting rid of there product and switching to other brands
