lol my brain has been the furniture salesman lately too 😂 the silver, yellow pink combo is fabbbbulous! I can’t wait to see your trailing nasturtium, they are literally one of my favorite flowers of all time! Omg looooove the garden shed chandelier! That is such a quaint and cozy touch! I am excited to see all your new seeds sprout and make some yummy treats for you to eat! I love those toad stools and all the different fungi growing on in your yard they are so colorful! As usual I love seeing all the creatures that you get to spend time in your garden! Thanks for sharing!
LOL about being the furniture salesman! I’m feeling that way about my clothes right now! I want to throw out everything in my closet and start fresh! - Isn’t planting seeds just the most exciting thrill and gamble of your life?!? I just planted the nasturtium seeds yesterday, and today I will already be looking for signs of sprouting. Haha!!! - I’m so thankful to get to see so many creatures in my garden! I love sharing it with all of them!!! - I hope y’all have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!!!!
Love that idea to plant trailing nasturtium on the trellis. That’s going to be so pretty. The potting shed looks so good! I need one. Ugh…a snake skin. Girl, I found a BIG one next to our fence & it seems it’s every year somewhere along the fence they like to rub against to remove their skin. It’s always a surprise I happen up on. 😮 I’m bringing the hubs home tomorrow from his 2 weeks in stay at the physical & occupational therapy center. He’s very excited & Im hoping I’m prepared. I installed a hand held shower head for him & put together a bathtub chair & I ordered a walker in case he needs it. Unreal. I’ll be cooking just for the two of us for Thanksgiving. All 3 daughters coming home in December. (one from CO, one from OK & one from NC.) Sure wish they were closer, especially times like these. Happy Thanksgiving sweet friend! God bless you & your family. Your GA gardening friend🍗🍁🦃
Oh, Linda!!! I’m praying for you and your husband to be able to handle all the ins and outs of him coming home from rehab!!! I’m impressed with your handyman skills of installing shower heads and putting together bathtub chairs!!! Did you get your heart regulated and is that making a difference with your energy levels? - I’m glad that all the girls will be home for Christmas!!!!! That’s going to be such a celebration!!!!!! - LOL about finding the big snakeskin on the fence! It’s just starting to dawn on me that I have WAYYYY more snake activity in my garden than I ever cared to. Haha! - I hope y’all will have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!! There’s so much to be thankful for!!!!!!!!
GREAT video - just love all your critter shots. Looks like your friendly snake has grown - reason for shedding and he feels happy in your garden or wouldn't be there. I didn't know that the snail you showed as beneficial. SO glad you tell us these things so that along with the beauty, we get taught valuable lessons, also. I just can't seem to grow a passion flower anymore. They grew wild all over my yard and I ate many of the fruits but now, no matter how hard I try, they don't want to be here. My friend just gave me her recipe for may pop jelly and I'm going to try again to grow some - got to have hope if your a gardener. Your egg shaped oval garden bed will be a nice spot to work in - good luck with that.
That’s so strange that you can’t grow passion flower vine anymore, Mary! Mine didn’t grow as well as it did last year, and I didn’t get a single fruit from it either. Last year I had at least fifty fruits or more. I wonder why they are struggling and nonexistent?!? I hope that isn’t a trend!!! - I’m both honored and terrified that snakes are liking my garden and hanging out in it. LOL! - I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!!!
Hey Rachel! One of my favorite flower farmers, Lisa Mason Ziegler, did a trial of bunny tails as a cool season annual and she said it did amazing. She is in 8A and tried to grow it in the warmer months, but didn’t get long enough stems to harvest. But in the spring they can bloom in time for Easter and have longer stems!!
Oh, yay, Nick! That’s so exciting to know about the bunny tails! I am going to start them in February in the potting shed. I can’t wait to see what they do!!!!! - I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!!!
Glad you thought to do the before and after shots sure wish I could remember to do that. The cooler temps have made fall cleanup and re-do’s so enjoyable. It was 43 here in central Florida this morning so socks with sandals is part of the dress code 😂 Wishing. you and yours a wonderful thanksgiving.
LOL about socks with sandals! Yep! Thank God we have very few days that require that! - I wish that the before and after had been more stunning, but hopefully, I will be able to grow lots of goodies to fill it in quickly in the spring! - I hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving, too!!!
Went down to 36 degrees in N. Central Florida last night, so my garden is not happy at the moment. LOL. I'm probably twice your age dear, so I use these cooler months to rest up. Instead, I use the holiday season to plan out next year's garden. 🌴🌺 Everything at your place looks so lovely!!
Oh! That’s surprising that it got that cold!!! LOL about being twice my age, Topaz! I doubt that!!! - It is wonderful to take a break from gardening and dream!!! I’m concocting all kinds of cockamamy ideas! It will be a treat to have the time and energy to pull them off!!! - I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!!!!
Hey Rachel you were cracking me up with your furniture salesman vs bob the builder analogy! The armadillo hole looked so neat! And your garden in that pink light! Happy thanksgiving my friend!! Deanna
LOL, Deanna! The struggle is REAL! It’s either all or nothing with me. Haha! - I filled in the armadillo hole, and I’ve got to devise a way to keep that from happening again. Ugh! - I hope that you have a fabulous Thanksgiving, dear friend!!!!!!
Your potting shed looks so pretty and inviting. I know you will be starting some beautiful flowers in there very soon. Soon. Wishing you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving.
Hi Rachel. Your garden looks lovely. You must be happy to be in the cool season at last. We've had frost, very early for us, but it certainly finished off any blooms that were hanging on 😅. I was thinking that for us it's a rest time from the garden, we let mother nature do her cleaning up, all sorts of creatures will benefit. I will put the finishing touches from late February onwards. I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. Many thanks for sharing your lovely garden and creatures. You're a breath of fresh air 😀
Thank you, Kim!!! You are such an encouragement!!!! Yes, a rest would be a good thing! I’m so thankful that the garden doesn’t need to be watered every day now! - It’s tome to start dreaming about next year’s garden, for sure! I’m so thankful that there are endless choices for growing things!!! - Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes!!! I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving when y’all celebrate it!!!
OMG i’M dYiNg Desperate furniture salespeople 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 It’s SO TRUE Such pretty combinations! 👀 Love gomphrena so much! Thanks for the shout out! 😉 You are so sweet. Ok, hold the phone. HOW CUTE IS YOUR POTTING SHED? Your cuttings look amazing!! lol the paint speckles! I’ve done that so many times when I’m spray painting something on the driveway! Oh that toad is so pretty!! So many creatures! It always makes me smile when you show us critters! And the snake skin!! Cool! Oh how wonderful! I’m so excited about your gulf coast penstemon! Mine looks awful and has decidedly not bounced back from the hot summer and drought here in the fall! I wonder if I should try it in a pot next spring? Hmmmm. I love that apple blossom snapdragon! Swoon! I’ve got gulf frit cats too! So fun!! What a gorgeous tour! Thanks for sharing, my sweet friend!
Oh, Jo! You deserve ALL the shoutouts!!! I want everyone to see your garden, so they can see how it’s done! I was just watching your newest video today, and I think your garden is just as gorgeous as it was in the spring!!! Everything is so healthy and glossy! Going with natives is such a smart move!!! Thank you so much for all of your kind words! You are a dear friend and a great benefactress!!!
It was 48 degrees this morning in Southwest Florida. It’s really early for it to be so cold! But my veggies are loving it! Your garden is looking awesome as always! I got my onions, garlic and carrots planted, at least the first round. Everything else is kicking butt!
Oh, Kelli! Wasn’t that little cold snap so refreshing?!? Then it went right back to being hot again. Ugh! - Oh! I just looked at the weather, and it’s gonna get a little chilly again! I like being able to play outside and not break into a sweat! - I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!
Is that arrow leaf Salvia Big Swing? I really like the beautiful saffire blue color. It gets really tall in my garden this year. The potting shed looks great.
Oh, Carol! That’s cool! I just looked up salvia big swing, and it does look like it. I don’t know what the difference would be. I plant mine in the ground, and they got crowded out by everything else around them. I’m going to plant some in containers this year and see what happens. I do greatly enjoy their gorgeous blue flowers!!! - I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!!!!
I bought them as plants, but I am saving seeds from them! You can message me at Pinterest for some. I am Gulf Coast Butterfly Gardening there, too. I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving Day!!!

Beautiful garden. I like that you have lots of potted plants mixed in & all pots are blue.
Love the extra large trellis.

I bought them as plants, but I am saving seeds from them! You can message me at Pinterest for some. I am Gulf Coast Butterfly Gardening there, too. I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving Day!!!
Where did you get your wooden trellis from?
I got it from bestnest.com It is vinyl. They call it the Nantucket Arbor.
The white head is a characteristic color of a male Gulf Coast box turtle.
That’s so cool to know, Georg! Thank you for telling me that!!! I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!
