It was a scam since day one. If what they were trying to accomplish was possible, triple AAA companies with an actual million dollar budget for a game would of already done it. I still can’t believe people bought into this bs.
Yes and no. I agree it was a scam from day 1, but just because something is possible doesn't mean large companies are going to do it. Keep in mind Sam Walton tried to get Ben Franklin to create discount stores in rural America only for them to turn down his ideas over their skepticism. Obviously he went on to create Walmart based off of those ideas and it was not only very successful, but it revolutionized retail.
Blockbuster could have bought Netflix but didn't see the value in it, Yahoo passed buying on Google because they didn't think it was worth $1 Million, history is full of major missed opportunities like that because some folks were either to afraid to take big risks or just simply didn't see the value in an idea even though it was the future.
This is just as true for video games and is why we get a new Call of Duty every year and a bunch of Battle Royale games after one made it big. Because big companies don't like to take risk if they can avoid it.

the blockchain system has nothing to do with money. bitcoin uses it for banking because its so secure. you dont have to use it all for money. as far as protecting against hackers changing data its pretty dope for gaming. but when nfts and all this crypto slides in the developers get confused. i would love to include blockchain in my own mmo but never introduce crypto nft's and all this bullshit

Simplest way to know if something is a scam: if they ask for payment but have nothing to show to you then you can be pretty sure that it is a scam. I don't know how his supporters don't get it
Kinda, but not quite. I mean, look at battlefield 2042. Ea showed us stuff and it was 1000× more than we could ever expect to see from e2 but i still wouldnt buy this game for a 100 bucks which is propably 100× less money than i could spend on buying tiles, am i right?
Having a partnership with Polygon Studios, one of the best Studios for Crypto gaming doesn't sound like scam to me. If you don't know Polygon Studios, they are partnering with "The Sandbox" and "Decentralland" too, which are together 11 Billion!!! $ Marketcap.

Well, it uses procedural generation. Where as Earth 2 was about trying to recreate the Earth (past tense, since I doubt they're even trying now).
Yes but NMS falls apart when more than a handful of players are in the same system... And also NMS looks great, plays great in VR but its very shallow in actual game play...I did get to about 500hrs before I got bored..... I'm not hating on NMS, still think the VR in NMS in incredible, I had no idea game could look that good in VR
Really, the only difference is that Hello Games, apart from the lies they told before release, that I consider they're reedemed themselves for, is building a game. These crypto bros are just throwing out buzzwords and raking in cash. One is a game, the other is verbal diarrhea.

Star Citizen actually exists at least. Just way too big of an idea for a team of developers that released it too soon while needing another 5 years to finish it
5:15 - Play to earn? Sounds like a game with a hidden cryptominer with continuous incentives given to the player to try and keep them online and playing. I know such games are banned on Steam, but that won't stop motivated shady developers from trying to hide their nefarious intentions.

People come people go. Those developers had opportunity elsewhere that better suited them. But now they work for disruption they have invested into earth 2. And I see Earth 2 have partnered with Polygon which is a big company in the crypto and nft world. I know a lot of people don't understand the crypto world and digital assets but there are a lot that do.

Earth 2. It's a game where you buy land that generates things. Those things get converted to items that can be traded to other players. Additionally, you can buy objects that generate stuff that can be converted to things. There's also crystals which just boost the generation of stuff, resulting in more things, and thus, items. And the stuff and things and boosts are also tradable. But not the objects.
They basically made an NFT marketplace and a proprietary handful of cryptos where the tokens are vacant blocks of land that represent real-world locations on earth.
