By the way, I just realized how daft one of the critiques of the Enneagram lurkers is, i.e, their (summed up from the author and one of the followers): "You work in social service research/evaluation? That's not 4 or 5 at all. It's 6, because 6s are the ones trying to find the truth." Sure, the truth as it pertains to their security/ safety/ authority/ group. Situational. Personal. Research, by its very nature, is deep diving, the entire goal putting understanding above ego and attachments. It actively eschews biases, groups, presumption, etc. I mean, yes, it's ultimately head-type (borrowing the value of objectivity from 1), but while any type can learn and engage in such a process, a person having a litany of successful projects (again, presented at a national conference, taught at a Top 20 program, and more projects than I could start to list), specifically in the *heart* realm of social service nonprofits (note: head-heart, heart-head), AND (more importantly) being able to mentally toggle instantly into relying on evidence and logic as they skewer prior-held thoughts/assumptions/beliefs (I score high on Openness; 6s don't), is screaming 5 over 6. If you don't get this, you're some kind of thick or obtuse. Also why I wanted to be 5-core, but eventually came to realize the shameful heart-center.
And besides, 1-4-7 is the idealism triad. 6 is more cynical. I again defer to anyone who knows me in real life.
