Can someone explain safe jumps better for a novice player such as myself? The video confused me
Taviss you know when you jump in yea and like ryu can uppercut you in the face in a safe jump ryu cannot do that and you block befor you get uppercutted but in order to do a safe jump you must knock down the opponent perhaps by a specific special move like juri's pinwheel kick, after there knockd down you may jump however the timing is very strict if you don't want to be uppercittued in the you better get practising I been playing a while still cant pull that of XD
That tournament was 7 years ago and I was hoping Makoto wins and she did it ! Cause she one of my favorite even if Sakura is my main character

I use an Xbox 360 controller when playing on PC, but it hardly matters since I rarely play it anyways. Still fun to watch pro matches.

I was watching a video comparing this and street fighter V...this is better and it's not even close. Just the hype moments in street fighter IV alone make this a better game than V. Dam this is the best fighting game of all time!

love it when Alioune looses i just can't stand his cammy.
I have to say i dont know why makoto is not considered top tier. Call me a noob, but i've been using her for maybe a year or two, and her mixups, resets, kara grab potential and high stun is soooo awesome. Why do people bullshit her for her walkspeed? I mean, she has ways to get in with tow. hk, tow. hk feint, f. mk, etc. Her pokes are decent and actually pretty good, with f. mp, cr. mp, f. lp, and cr and f. lk. I know many of u guys are probably masters at the game so tell me: is she underrated?
She is considered top tier, a lot of lists has her listed as A tier especially in 2013 and Ultra. However, as a Makoto player, I think that's too high and based purely on her damage output. She a lot of problems dealing with pressure. This is very apparent in chip situations and in the corner where you have no reversal outside of ultra and no escape(U2 is no longer invincible going to the wall). Ex karakusa and fukiage are kind of reversals, but will both lose out to almost any SRK FADC or command grab/standard throw. Your best option is almost always guess the right way to block, which is a horrible situation. Walk speed is a very big deal when it's possible for characters to literally press your with normals and just walk away well out of your affective range or even just walk under cross up attempts and punish you.

She has good anti airs actually, she has a shit reversals. Also, you need practice her anti-air game, its not obvious stuff. Also she is somewhat of an obscurity warrior as well, because no 1 plays her.

Yeah, fei and cammy is 7-3 I swear. The fact that haitani is holding it down here is freaking crazy. The kind of stuff he has to commit to... It's just the dmg and the stun is scary. 2 sucessful mixups, a poke, a grab and ur stunned.

SSF4 was under severe criticism for rewarding certain characters that had unblockable setups off of safe jump opportunities. I believe jchensor was just making fun of it; it was definitely a vital part of SSF4.

PS, rather hoping ultra 2 gets a damage buff in Ultra SF4, as I'd hope with all underused ultras ... so players actually use it ...

AvangionQ The best ways to use her counter Ultra, and pretty much all counters are to get a read on your opponent and throw out the counter when you expect them to do something. If they mash crouch tech or uppercut during your block strings, drop your string early and throw out the counter. If you know they have been going for frame trap setups, throw it out to eat their meaty move. Her Ultra I is by far more useful due to it's damage and ability to be linked from jump ins/EX Drill.

Alot of people seem to use it in the viper match-up, for burnkicks.

A little before their first match, the announcers also forgot to mention that Haitani is one of the few who uses Makoto and successfully whoops ass. Whereas, ANYONE can use those uppercut fighters and appear as if they're skilled.
Plus, I don't know what the announcers were carrying on for at about 1:55 in. This "Allioune" guy, or whatever, isn't doing anything that I don't see every damn Cammy player do.
Alioune actually created most of the setups every Cammy player uses. Sako created the combos though.

What's so bad about controller use?
Apparently, using a controller makes you less "official". If I ever enter a tournament I'm using a controller. I am most familiar with it.
Nothing. It's just harder to play on a controller. There are people who are good at doing this, but in general, it is more difficult.
