Hey friends! Wondering how to share Google Drive files and folders? Want to know all about Google Drive sharing permissions? I've got you covered in this video!
@@sanjeevaniarland7723 In the web app go to your drive and right-click in the whitespace not taken up by a file and select create folder. Yeah I know this won't help you. A year later I hope you figured it out but someone else may see your question answered.
What a breath of fresh air! I came for the details, and you delivered it all and then some without me falling asleep! (Not all tubers can accomplish that!) Wonderfully helpful video!
Brilliant! Thank you, very well explained and great presentation. I have been getting tech shamed by a male colleague and picked your tutorials because you look super friendly and I needed some goddess power!
Thanks Tasia for the vid. Now I have a question, Is there is a way to know those who access my shared folder ?? and how to view the list of the permission for the people I gave them access in case I want to restrict one of them or something Thanks
Great video! Thanks for creating such user-friendly and instructive videos. The quality of your production, as well as the video and presentation, is outstanding. Many thanks.
great video dear. One question what if I have already shared my link or add my clientele to the folder but made it viewer restricted...I hope with viewerrestriction I can stop them from downloading my files on their desktop??? if my client can view can they also download these shared files?? Appreciate yuour response please
Excellent information. Allow me one critical comment: It is beyond me why TH-cam content creators think it is cool or necessary adding background music over their voice. We came to hear you and learn from you, however now we must fight the background music which quickly becomes extremely annoying; yes the thump-thump scratchy sounds. Many folks have hearing difficulties, some have English language difficulties as well. Thus listening to your video, they must concentrate on what you are saying while at the same time mentally tuning out the music; exercise in frustration. Your background music ruins an otherwise important presentation.
You have a good sense of Humor!! That is good as is your good speaking voice and details of the Topic:) I've been using Google Drive for a handful of years and Sharing links too which is so convenient....yet honestly I've forgotten from just sharing The Link quick access to anyone with the link to them asking for permission which slows things down I did an oops. You've helped...obviously I missed an option
Finally!!! There is someone who can explain google drive... I probably need to watch a couple more times to get a few things more burned into my brain.... the reason that you are head and shoulders above all other tutorials is because you light up when you explain the difference between sharing via email versus sharing a link. I just didn't understand why there are 2 ways. I understand much better now and will opt for the link method of sharing.. I will definitely watch your other videos... PS... one question: I wonder why the app will not allow us to copy and paste in an email address... only letting you to manually enter?
Thank you for this video. How do you go the opposite way, however, and share the ability for a collaborator to upload video files from their location to your folder on Google Drive?
Hey Tasia Great video! Do you have any tips or tricks on how to share files from GDrive in a similar style to drop box? "My Drive" is filling up with Shared files, most of which have probably already been downloaded by the client. but they don't disappear like they do on drop box. Do you have any suggestions on how to best manage this case? Thanks & Kind Regards Stefan Etter
Great! But how about a section on receiver guidance. For example, a link is sent to a person without a Google account - will the link open as is, or will the recipient need to open a Google account?
Hi Great video. Can you explain what the permissions actually allow? For example if I want to share a folder of images for others to upload to their website what permissions would I use, viewer or editor?
If I share a specific folder (as editor, so they can download) to deliver photos to a client, can they then see ALL the folders in my Google Drive? If so, is there a way to ONLY give them access to THEIR folder?
This was not addressed in this rodeo and I see she did not respond. I send as editor and they were able to see all my folders. Beware. For viewing is easy but having them add is difficult and was not addresses. Just be aware
What I'd like to do is to sync a folder on one computer to Google Drive using Google Drive for Desktop. I've already got that setup. Now, I'd like to go home on a different computer and have an identical folder on it that would be synced to that same folder on Google Drive. Making a change on either computer would result in it being updated on Google Drive and then ultimately the other computer. Is this something that is possible to do? I figure if anyone would know, it would be you. Any help?
Question, if I copy photos in a folder to google drive and share that folder/link. What happens if I delete the photos 6 months from now? Because I have them still in my google photos. I want to make sure when I delete in google drive, it won’t delete in google photos. I’m putting photos in google drive temporarily to share. Thanks!!
Thank you for the lesson. If I want to share for example my cook book with my daughter and create the link to it, do I need to leave my pc on until she opens it or can she open the link even when my pc is shut off. I just looked at my menu and don't have Get Link option in there like in yours Also can you advice if there is a way to make file explorer to always open google drive automatically when I click on file explorer? When I used win 10. I enter a path in file explorer properties which did it. Now that I have win11 this path does not work so I have to click on google drive and then on MY DRIVE to see my files. Thanks very much
Thanks, so how do people use Google Drive to sell their intangible assets(as file storage for their websites), I mean, I have a website and I need my product URL to put on my website to sell, how can I use Google Drive in this case, I mean I just need the products' links and I do not want let them see the folders or inside the folders to download other assets for free, could you please help me to find the answers? Because I literally when I search related keywords on TH-cam only wrong unrelated videos is popping up.
is there a way to search google drive and find all the documents you shared with someone so you can remove their accesses instead of search for each individual document? Almost like search for user based permissions?
Very Good!! It was just what I needed. I didn't even know about the link. That way the person I send the link to can share it with someone else. What I am sharing is a folder containing a series of HTML files and I want to be sure that if the person who has the link can click on "index.html" and use the system. And I like your looks and you voice and your mannerisms. I will checkout other stuff you have when I get time.
A colleague has shared a folder with me, full of Photoshop files I need to work on. How do I make this available offline, sync it to a folder on my hard drive? I am used to working in Dropbox where all of this is simple and easy to understand. Thanks!
Hi Tasia, If you share a folder to a client with the viewer option set. Are they able to make a copy of it and then do with it what they please (like make edits to it for their own use)?
This is a very understandable and useful video. However, I still have a question the I'm not sure is covered her. I recently attended a large gathering. I was an active photographer for the group. I have about 300 photos to share with them on Google Drive and it is their expectation that they can drag and drop some of these files to their own personal file on their PC or I Pad. So far I haven't been able to set my Google Drive to allow them to copy and past my photos. Can you help me with this?
Great Presentation! As the facilitator/instructor of a program at my university, I have to create the folders (in Google Drive) but the other instructors (in this course) will upload their files into the folders. Can I make them editors and still share a link with students? Or do I have to manually input each person's name and highlight editor, viewer...?
Hi Tasia, I love your content and the clarity you bring to all this I wonder if you could help me. I am trying to set up a Google Drive folder and Google Group for a local charity I am involved in. I am trying to share the Google Folder with members of the Group, but when I slelct the folder, click 'Share', and there is no option to insert the name of the Group. How do I get the Group Name into the Dropdown list in the Share dialog? Another question: I want all Members of the Group to have View and Comment permissions, but only Group Managers to have Edit permissions. How do I do this?
Nicely done Tasia!! I use GD on my Mac desktop. I have not found the way to share files and folders directly through the Mac desktop app. Is there a way to do this or is sharing via a link or email invite restricted to web version only? Thank you
Great video for sharing your files with others. Is it possible to allow other people to drop some of their files into one of your google drive folders as well?
Great! Thank you for this informative video. I want to send some images by Google Drive. However, I don't know if the quality of the images change (whether for print or on the screen). Could you help me about this?
great video, clear and precise! Question: i want to provide the link for people to have access to my file as a viewer only but i don't want them to be able to share the link to others. The file i'm sharing is part of a paid program i'm running so i only want the people who paid to have access to it and not be able to share it with others who have not paid. Hope this makes sense lol thanks!
Awesome Tasia. So just to be clear, after a link is shared, the receiver will see files added even after they receive the link? I'm relying on Google Drive more and more as my main storage place. Thank you for all your work, you're amazing!!!
That’s right. The link will always be the same. So whenever you update that folder, the link stays the same. If they open that link again, they’ll have all the new files in it. Thanks for watching!
So, is there a way to delete a file, folder that was sent to me months ago. Every time I try to click on it, it disappears and it won't allow me to do anything. It seems to be under a category called "never"
If I allow in the link the person to edit, do the have only access to that file/document or can access my other files in Google Drive to? Is all my Google Drive content visible to the person or only the one file/doc/presentation I’ve sent the link for? Thank you!
How to know that the shared folder is received? Like when we share an email we see it in the sent folder. But Google drive folder is there a sent folder?
Is there a way to share files, and allow downloads, but not allow editing to the data. i.e. I have data that I want to sell. I want the purchaser to have access to the file and be able to download it, but I want to make sure no one can erase or change the data in my original file
Great video. Smart, concise, to the point. And you put yourself in my shoes. Further, does Google Drive keep a log of people who have accessed and/or downloaded your file/folder? Can I develop an email list from such a log? If not, how would I build such a list? Please advise me. Thanks in advance.
Hi! Great details and entertaining content. Thank you for your time and effort. Just a quick note, on Minute 5:38 you say “TH-cam” instead of “Google Drive”
Hey friends! Wondering how to share Google Drive files and folders? Want to know all about Google Drive sharing permissions? I've got you covered in this video!

Do I need to pay to access these features?

How do you do the opposite? I don't want sharing. Scams after scams
I have trouble sometimes with sharing a file with someone who doesn't have a Google account. I'd like to see you cover this topic. Thanks.
What a breath of fresh air! I came for the details, and you delivered it all and then some without me falling asleep! (Not all tubers can accomplish that!) Wonderfully helpful video!

Tasia is a super presenter. She makes you understand so easliy and fast.
You’re the sweetest, thank you!
Wow! best how-to video I've seen on TH-cam. Clear, easy to hear and understand. Well organized and illustrated with screen shots. 😊
Thank you for your kind words! Glad it was helpful.
Loved this video Tasia! It solved a problem I was having with sending a link to "everyone" who gets it! Thanks!
Thanks Tasia for the vid. Now I have a question, Is there is a way to know those who access my shared folder ?? and how to view the list of the permission for the people I gave them access in case I want to restrict one of them or something

I like the music bed. Might be a little lower volume, but I think everything should have some background texture as long as it's not distracting.
