I'm actually writing a period piece and this video helped me greatly! I cannot thank you enough❤❤❤ I also love your opinion on corsets. I 100% agree. And it just makes me want to go out and completely rechange my clothing and begin wearing anything but modern clothes❤❤
It's beautiful! That pink lining is stunning. Buttonholes definitely aren't cheating, you know that if a Victorian lady had access to an automatic buttonholer she'd use it in a heartbeat!
What the most amazing thing about this is how you made this skirt in just under 7 minutes! You are fast! tee hee! It is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
McCalls had a split skirt pattern that Rachel Maksy made but for the life of me I can’t find. Sounds like TV is going to be my back up pattern which isn’t a bad thing.
The colors are so pretty together. I mostly wear skirts and love the idea of making this one because I do a lot of outdoor work. Thank you for making this video it's so sweet.
Lovely! Really wonderful watching a 'Doctor of Dresses' construct this nifty little number. I just love it! Just can't go past a well-pinked seam finish.. though don't see it used anywhere near enough, particularly in the numerous historical garment reconstruction videos on TH-cam. Looking forward to viewing more of your content. Yes, it'll be rather nice having a PhD around here ;)
Love this, it looks so fetching on you...the color & print choices are so pretty👌🏻. In The Netherlands we call this a "Broekrok" (trouserskirt) and they were still a thing, in fashion, back in the 80's/90's. But without the buttoned-up front. I can still picture my Mom (1934-2017) in her aubergine coloured trouserskirt. It made riding her bicycle easy indeed. (Not that she couldn't ride her bicycle with a "normal" skirt....all Dutch woman use their bikes no matter their fashion choices✌🏻).
I love your skirt! Beautiful fabric. I have that pattern but the instructions aren't very comprehensive! So, it was nice to see you making it. I would have liked to see the back as well. Question: What are the buttoned flaps for at each side? Ease of putting on? Although the pattern does go to a largish size, I want to lose weight before I make it as I would feel so fat in it even if I didn't!! Big bottom!!!
Hi, i know i'm a bit late, but is there any way i could get a few pictures of how your front waistband is attached? I'm nearing that point in my own split skirt, and the instructions are a bit confusing, even with a diagram.
Beautiful skirt! Unlike culottes that I've seen which always LOOK like culottes, this skirt really does look like a skirt, even when unbuttoned! When it IS buttoned it is AMAZING! and nobody would ever guess it wasn't just a regular skirt. I'm only disappointed we didn't get to see the back side, but... maybe it was quite similar to the front?

Bring them back in style. I really like your skirt with the matching tie 😊
Lovely skirt, you made an excellent piece. I wish you had turned around, I'd like to see how the back looks.

I’ve just finished making (except for the hemming-they’re hanging at the moment) the TV299 split skirt. Your video was very helpful. Thank you.
Excellent explanation of how to assemble this garment.
Beautiful!! Love the fabric. You look really nice in them!
I love it! I really love your fabric choices!

Trousers are beyond my comprehention level at the moment, but I love the final result.
Now where to find that old a bicycle to go with the look XD

Thank you! Yes, we still have culottes in the UK.
So lovely! I’ve bought this pattern a while back but have not been able to get into it yet. Yours is inspiring!
Wow! Amazing!
I really like this divided skirt I was wondering how to make myself a pair(?) especially after seeing Amalia's skirt pants in last weeks episode!!
It looks amazing! LOVE IT!
It's so fun to see these niche things!
These. Are. Fantastic.
Nice. I want to make this! Looks really pretty.

Great video, I think I'll make one for #historybounding, it's a lovely skirt.
this is such a lovely video!
How long did it take you to make this skirt?

I made this skirt and completely lapsed on the fact that the fron plackets are actual closures. On mine, they're just decorative, lol.
What a fun skirt!! You make it seem so easy and simple.
