This is so cool. I'll have to check out that pattern. I'm glad the snowflakes finally embroidered properly, they are beautiful. The skirt looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! You have made so much more sense of the pattern now! I love the idea of machine embroidery on the skirt. I think I would just put a line of embroidery down each front seam but, you know how it is, I could change my mind!!
It's absolutely beautiful! Your embroidery is so sweet looking. There was a lot of work for this skirt and you showed your talent well. Good tip on opening up the button holes.
Thank you so much! Excellent tutorial! I’ve been clueless on how to start this project...I’m kind of a newbie to sewing. I have subscribed! Thanks again.
It took me a second -- let me just say, that is ONE WIDE BED your machine has. Now I have to re-watch all of your videos to see if you sew everything like that. (And then you sew it in the usual way). This is such a lovely pattern. Happy New Year.
I enjoyed watching your video; I am now fairly sure that I will have to make that split skirt too. I I especially loved seeing Pip help you with your hem. 💕
Amazing snowflakes on skirt. I dont see split skirt or what it means. I wonder if two buttons sides called split skirt? Nice skirt. Good job. I wantbto learn how to make skirt.
Thank you! A split skirt really means that it is more like a pair of pants disguised as a skirt. There is an inseam to separate the legs, but the fabric in the legs is so voluminous that it looks like a skirt.
@@monikatunstall70 Exactly! Women started being more physically active at the end of the 19th Century, and these split skirts were useful for physical activity!
question.. what undergarments would be worn under this? were there split chemise as well? additionally, was it more difficult to use the restroom since the skirts could not be lifted up, but rather had to be undone? i hope you can answer. thank you.,
Thank you very much. I am currently working on this project and I now started wondering what the purpose of the back plackets is. Could you describe it to me, please?
This is the third video I watched on your channel. I really want to watch more (aka binge all of them), but that ever-repeating music becomes so annoying 🙈
Love the dog! Very clear instructions on assembling the skirt .
Thank you, and thanks for watching!

Thank you!
Love it! Your cutting table is a dream.
Thank you! Isn't it amazing? My dad is great!
Oh my goodness thanks so much for the pins on the button hole trick. I've Ruined so many bottom holes.
I'm glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching
Those snowflakes are so pretty! And sweet little Pip! Nothing like having a sweet dog as your sewing companion!
Thank you! Yeah, technically Pip is my daughter's dog, but she loves to be on my lap when I'm hand sewing. 😀

Beautiful skirt😊
@@JannekeKuijer thank you!
Splendid skirt! Did the pattern specified the grain? The bias on the inside leg is new for me.
Yes, the pattern specified the grain. Since this is the first split skirt I attempted to make, I made sure to follow the grainlines as recommended.
I just bought this pattern and am enjoying watching sew ups of it while I wait for the perfect fabric ☺️ thank you for sharing

Happy New Year to you, too!
Love this skirt!!!!!! Thanks for sharing.

Please do! I don't really wear skirts in every day life, but I think this would be so comfortable!
Beautiful! Been contemplating making this, now this video is inspiration!
Thank you! You should definitely make it!
Glad it was a relatively simple make! It turned out beautifully, and the snowflakes look awesome!
Thank you so much!

@@SwimminginaSeaofEstrogen oh I got it. I didn't see split and will re watch again. We can ride bike with that. 🙂

beautiful work ❤️!!!
Thank you! Cheers!

Yes, split drawers. I'm not sure about using the restroom, but the skirt is easy to get in and out of.
What are these side plackets for? I am thinking of sewing this skirt myself and I really wondered what use they have.
The side plackets are how you get in and out of the skirt. The front placket is a false opening.
Thank you very much. I am currently working on this project and I now started wondering what the purpose of the back plackets is. Could you describe it to me, please?
@@antoniagopfert3857 there aren't back packets, just pleats that provide for the skirt fulness.
