Great review. I like that you get a feeling of what type of people who will like the game from watching your review. Many reviewers forget to say that and only seem to say if they think the game is great or not.
It is a beautiful game, but I find it a bit too fidley. I'm a pretty serious gamer but the three times I've gone to play this with my kids, I am constantly trying to look something up in the rulebook (and not easily finding my answer). I've watched all of the Watch It Played videos which are awesome, and I'm sure I'll get it down, but it has been relatively frustrating to get it all down.
The problem for us is always having to refer to the storybook in addition to the rulebook, since there are specific set-ups and rules for each chapter. I take it with a grain of salt, since it means greater variety to the game.
Board Game Brawl This does have theme, but to this point I prefer Descent 2.0 for being more intuitive and easier to figure out. Thanks for a good review here, Nick
