Excellent. Had to watch your video several times to tie down the principles. The on line manual is the usual Chinese version of English so hard to follow. The wording in the tables makes sense when one knows the principles but is useless as a teaching tool. You have filled the gap for me. Thank you.
Hi, To follow up on my issue with the SMC02 I have spent the afternoon testing the unit that I have had trouble with. Fortunately I purchased 3 units to use on an XYR photography close up subject mover that I am building. The first of the three that I chose to learn on I now know to be faulty. Working through OGG’s brilliant videos I have now rested all three and have had a 33% failure rate. 2 work perfectly and one has major flaws in the code and a loose assembly probably causing serious issues. Thought I was going mad. Editing the manual into English from probably AI converted and unchecked Chinese helped as well. Massive thanks to OGG for his kind offer of support. Guess I am back to Amazon to order another as returning anything to China from Australia has to be a nightmare.
Excellent video series. Thank you. In mode 1 the ratio of encoder steps to motor steps is 1:80. Can that be changed to 1:1 ? To make it turn as slow as possible.
Both controllers will have similar limitations in this case...., might be a solution, there is another controller that I would like to test, but might be within next Month....
Thank you very much for your great videos. I have a question: is it possible to set up an automated continuous movement of the actuator from one dead point to another with this controller without manual pressing CW and CCW buttons?
Thank you for video. In program 3, are you able to set a maximum 3 that it will not exceed? Such as you don't want someone taking it over 100 RPMs. Thank you
Worked through your video in detailed steps. I have an issue in that for mode 4, and probably others instead of running 1 and 2 turns the motor goes 7 turns. I must be doing something wrong, but what. Set to defaults and adjusted per your setting for dip switch but no joy. I am running out of hair to tear out. Also, if I may. What is the H inF2 and meant to do……Regards. Chris.
Any chance you found a solution for this? I seem to be having the same issue trying to use work mode 4, I have the steps programmed to run 1 turn, but when I go cw, it goes 7 turns, adjusting the steps doesn’t make any difference. However ccw works perfectly fine
Hi I'd been thinking to use this driver for telescope tracker. As per thermal performance, will the driver hold when used for more than 30+ minutes at low speed with 24V/1.5A?
Hello, if you can help me with something, I bought a controller exactly like yours, I would like to use it on a rod motor that pushes and returns, the problem is the following, if I put the motor on directly, it pushes my part, that is, it has the necessary force but if I connect the motor to the controller then it seems to have no force to push the piece, my question is why? Does the controller have a force setting or something, thanks
It is somehow limited to fixed steps so it is not so flexible, I am developing a PCB based on Arduino which would be more flexible, if you have arduino progam knowledge would be definitely more suitable.
Amazing video I’m using this device to rotate a device from left to right but I don’t want it the time out. How do I get this thing to run 24 seven meaning all day all year long
@@onegeekguy_yt yes I have figured it out. It can do the movements infinity once you get to the maximum adjustment your clicks to zero and then it will do the infinity.
How to do automation, if series of steps need to give as input how to control steps movements, like lets say we have 400 circular points to move one by one and i need to move pointer in following example sequence starting from 0->10->240->45->28-> .......... -> 400 . How can we automate this ..
Hi! why you don`t use the F-02 High 3bit HXXX setting Low 4Bit XXX (see the manual)? You use only total number one full circle impulses. In F-02 you can set max 1~9999999 total pulses. How setup more time delay between forward and reverse moving (for example 5 min)?
Trying to understand F2 and F4 setting to run turn pulse numbers greater than 9999. It seems the H number set is the method but how to quantify it? I am not understanding this….. Can anyone offer me advice or even a link so I can get a handle on it PLEASE. Thank you…….
Using the SMC01 or SMC02? The one with the integrated driver will be really challenging. With the other, you could not connect the enable signal to the driver and either drive it from the other way or keep it enabled.
@@onegeekguy_yt Hey, this is urgent, I've external driver as well but then I bought SMC02, and I'm using this to control valve when I also require Holding torque, and using potentiometer to rotate(F1,P1). can I connect this controller to the external driver as well?
Question i have is in my short shaft nema 17 has a 50:1 planetsry gear box attached. I set up the microstep to 16 to make rotation smoother. Does means i need to set up 160 000 steps for one rotation (200 x 16 x 50) or 3200 (200 x 16)? If it is former, all drivers i found only goes to 40 000 pulses. Recommendations?
Basically, if you set the microstepping to 16 means that for a 1.8deg motor resolution, instead of 200 pulses for one rev, you need 200x16=3200, so you need to set the controller to 320. The planetary is a mechanical reduction so has nothing to do with the driver settings. You will need to take in account that if the planetary is 50:1, means 50 motor turns is 1 turn in the output shaft, when the controller is set to.....200RPM for example, you will have 200/50 = 4 RPM as output, but this calculation you need to do it manually. Cannot be represented in the screen.
Excellent explanation! It's so nice to see the settings, parameters, and then the results. Thanks so much!
You're very welcome!
Great videos. Thank you. Looking forward to external controls :) I would like to trigger a camera between iterations.
I agree. A triggering function would be magic. I to am using it in macro photography to control an X-Y-R rail for moving the subject.
An excellent demonstration. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thanks!
Very helpful Video
Mode 4 is exactely what i need
Great videos!! is there a factory reset to change the values to default?
Thats exactly what I needed for my cruise control ! Please tell me a suitable stepper motor to fit by the throttle body for my car. Thank you !!
very helpful, I need mode 6, thanks!
Glad it helped!

Unfortunately not, I dont understand why either they did it in this way that 1 turn does not correspond to 1 turn in the motor...
@onegeekguy_yt most unfortunate indeed. Do you think it's possible with the SMC01 and a separate driver?
Both controllers will have similar limitations in this case...., might be a solution, there is another controller that I would like to test, but might be within next Month....
@onegeekguy_yt already very grateful for the information and replies. Thank you. I'll definitely keep an eye out for that video. Subscribed. :)
Thank you very much for your great videos. I have a question: is it possible to set up an automated continuous movement of the actuator from one dead point to another with this controller without manual pressing CW and CCW buttons?
Unfortunatelly no, I am checking another controller that has more options, I will upload a video with it!

Let me know which motor and driver do you have and the setting you have configured and we can take a look!

I am working on getting the information.

At 1.5A, if you dont place the controller in a closed box without any ventilation, it should work.
Great video , very helpful for setup👍
Thanks!
SMC 02 used for nema 34 motor?
For a Nema34 I would recommend you to use an external driver and SMC01
@onegeekguy_yt thanks for reply

Which controller are you using SMC02 or 01? Are you using an external driver?
I was hoping these SMC02 had a distance travel jog display.
Can i can add multiple steps for clockwise and also for for anticlockwise??

how can i add a foot swich to the controller , so i can control the stepper motor by foot with two swiches cw and ccw?? Can you help ??
Take a look in my channel, there is a video showing how to add endstops, so basically it is the same, you will need to bridge the main switches.

How can I can i do factory setting? Because when I turn it on it only shows numbers and it starts blinking and the screen turns off.

Hi. Can I use endstops switches with ZK-SMC02 ?
Get HF020 controller. It has inputs for limit switches.
Yes you can, same as SMC01 but you need to solder the cables in the positions. Or follow the advice from the other user and buy the HF020 controller.
Great series of videos. Please stop saying the word "basically".
