If you want to always have 4A to the motor, I would go with the SMC01 and external driver...., till 3A it is Ok, at the end depends on the load in your motor.
What I did was swap the coil leads around, but How are the Stepper motors designed though? Is it the correct way as shown in the video? [Scratches head]. Please let us know.
Hi there Nice presentation, but im wondering and go in circles because I don’t know how can do this , in this set up how can you add up for manual mode with mpg hand wheel encoder if want to turn manual ?
Hi what other Driver's will this controller work with this? Will the DM542, I understood your explanation about the problem, but I don't understand which words I should look at in the description of products to know which Drivers are compatible.
how to control steps movements, like lets say we have 400 circular points to move one by one and i need to move pointer in following example sequence starting from 0->10->240->45->28-> .......... -> 400 . How can we automate this ..
Do stepper motors run cooler with driver is set to less steps per revolution? Do stepper motors run cooler with driver is set to less Amps? I am using Nema 23 57x57x56mm, 23HS2430B, 57BYGH056 Using DM556 Driver ZK-SMC01 stepper motor controller AC 110v to 24v Power Supply 20A Max Using on a machine that runs for hours at a time. Motors run feed screw at constant speed one direction then the other direction for 10 minutes before reversing then repeats. Driver is now set to 2.7A -1600
Hi I have another question, I have decided to use a separate stepper driver but can I remove the driver from the ZK-SMC 02 and just use the controller? Effectively turning it into a 01.
Yes you can, if you remove the driver from the SMC02, you will see a SMC01 but without the main connector, you just need either to solder the connector or solder the cables directly like if would be SMC01....
Excellent, clear video. Gracias!
Дякую за освітлення багатофункціонального контроллера для управління драйвером крокового двигуна.
Very informative video my stepper motor is 4 amps would I be better off with 01 or 02 controller

Thank you for the video. I noticed that when you pressed the CW button, the motor turns CCW, is there a way to correct this?

That its a good question, I don't think there is an option to change the rotation direction.
@@onegeekguy_yt I think that it would depend on the manufacturer's idea of the orientation of the motor when placed in the final product.
Is there a way to connect two limit switches to this controler please?
Two switches in the same direction? Connect them in series then

DM542 will work, it has both ends of the inputs in the connector so no issue.
Does it work with closed loop nema34 ?
Yes should work
Great video. What is the voltage of controller Dc+ and Dc-? Is it same as the driver 12 V, or not ?
Does not need to be the same, but if you have already 12V from the driver you can use that.
This just use step controller. My machine use like this. Any function this fine for automation
will Nema 14 with TMC2208 driver work with this controller?
Yes will do, no issue.
Great video! Very Informative. will this process work with the NEMA34 12NM
If you use an external driver yes!
@@onegeekguy_yt will the driver and psu you used work with the Nema34
No, mine were for smaller nema, you need a driver and PS for Nema34 which are bigger/powerful
@@onegeekguy_yt do you think you could recommend me a driver and ps for the NEMA34 12nm
Hi is there anyway to put my own sensor as a stop button?
Hi! Yes! I am working on an extra video showing how to use external switches as endstop. Will be ready in one week!!

Using DM556 Driver
ZK-SMC01 stepper motor controller

The main factor for motor temperature is current, I dont think micro stepping affects that much in my humble opinion.
Could you do a video on adding limit switches
HI! There is a video explaining how to add end stops here:

The screen is flickering on my one. Buy cheap buy twice...
It is the risk we assume when we buy cheap and in china, if something is not going as expected...bad for us unfortunately.
