- Hey everyone! I know it's been a while since my last video, and I’m so glad to be back! 😁Life's been a bit chaotic, but things are finally settling down, and I’m excited to be more consistent with uploading.
In this video, I take you through my process of painting three realistic eyes using watercolors. We’ll dive into how to really understand and interpret reference images to make your paintings look lifelike.

Is it difficult to correct any mistakes when working with watercolor?? You are an insanely talented artist. Your work is so beautiful and realistic
that's so kind, thank you! it is difficult to correct mistakes since watercolor is hard to remove or paint over (unless using a darker color over top). Best bet is to plan really well, use masking fluid, and/or use a brush and some clean water to "scrub" at the paint gently to try and lift what you can if you make a mistake.
Don’t be afraid to fail either!! It’s all part of the process.

It is so funny with realism there is still so many artistic license that goes into the colors and shadows, for an example on Eye 3 I personally would have gone more blue like manganese blue or ultramarine. However that’s was makes everyones style different as artists even though we are trying to achieve a similar result, hope my comment helps others, happy painting 🥰

Were you a natural artist or did you go to school to learn to do this?
Are eyes a good starting point for beginners? If you want to learn watercolor portraits?
i think a lot of artists start learning anatomy by having an interest in eyes. they're not overly important over other concepts but i think there's a lot to learn in general with all the form, colors, reflections, and details found in the eyes compared to other parts of the body
