    Can I just say that one of the reasons I absolutely ADORE you and your videos is that you always say WHEN you're applying another layer i.e. wet on wet, wet on damp. Thank you so much for helping me understand watercolors more.

      Me too! She’s the only one I’ve found who does that and I’m always confused when to paint wet on wet etc.

    Thank you for showing your journey here. I'm prone to perfectionistic thinking: if it's not perfect, I've failed. This is never a helpful way to learn a skill, so it's really wonderful to see how you've been challenging yourself and the ways you have improved.

    This is why it’s so important to finish a painting even when it looks weird. There was a stage in there where I probably would have thought it would turn out horribly, but then, like magic, it turned out beautiful!

    Louise, you make me laugh with the faces you make in your bloopers! I know how difficult it is to transition from painting animals/botanicals to painting humans, where precision is far more important, but WOW, I think you did a fantastic job with 'the toddler'! I look forward to seeing these lessons on your very much enjoyed Patreon channel!

    Beautiful eye, and fun bloopers. Your toddler on the beach is precious and perfect, too. Thanks, Louise - looking forward to seeing these on Patreon. btw, it just occurred to me, you haven't said anything more about the lightning-flash effect in your own eyes, I hope that's all over with. You are so acute in your observations of light and colors, it's essential that your own eyes function as perfectly as ever.

    • @LouiseDeMasi
      @LouiseDeMasi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much Lydia. I'm not getting so many lightning flashes now but I've got a large floater that runs down the side of my eye. The optometrist said she could see it too when she looked inside. It doesn't bother me when I'm working inside. I notice it when I go outside in the bright light. It will pass eventually. It make take a while though. Thank you for checking on me. 💕😊

    Your painting technique and artistry are exquisite Louise, do you always use the same brand watercolours - and brushes? You have the colour mixing down to a fine art in itself: I don't see how you could improve on what you do . . . it is as near to perfection as is possible!

    • @LouiseDeMasi
      @LouiseDeMasi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Nettie. Thank you very much. I try to use Winsor and Newton paints and Da Vinci Maestro brushes as much as possible so that my patrons have some consistency.
