The best thing in this race, besides the fascinating performance by Joseph Schooling, is this historic three-way silver medal tie of those three great butterfly swimmers, that was an epic moment when they joined hands and stepped up together to the podium, that was the best moment in Rio swimming. I'm happy for Laszlo Cseh who's 31 years old and this olympics could be his last, for Chad Le Clos he's still young and has more time to achieve a lot of things. For Micheal Phelps, can't find words to describe the legend and best sportsman in history, the Olympics will never be the same without him.

honestly joseph is so amazing…he beat his idol at such a young age. look at his face, how proud and happy he is and how the other competitors hug him! so what if he didn’t do as well in tokyo, he tried his best !!and yes we never know if there’s someone better out there, everyone is training hard and aiming to do better. tokyo could’ve been their win in many years, just wasn’t joseph’s.

What makes Joseph Schooling's win such an impressive one:
    1) Singapore's first gold medal in over 50 years (there was one around the 60s but Singapore wasn't even known)
    2) Michael Phelps is Joseph Schooling's idol, when he was young he admired Micheal Phelps and even took a selfie with him
This is really a model example of "Keep working hard, until your idols, become your idols"

I wouldn't think so. Phelps did what he did not only because of his technique, but his physique (his arms are very long) was made for swimming. Also height does not matter as much as technique and how you conduct your strokes (and also endurance ofc).

    • @chung2F5

***** Let's see how he performs at the world. Le Clos' win against Phelps back then was shown to not be a fluke since he is very consistent in world championships (especially short course) and WC as well. Wonder if Schooling will do well as well.
