@Richy Ok we have so many chances to end our gold drought in several editions of the Olympic Games when it comes to badminton. In the 1996 Olympics at Atlanta Cheah Soon Kit's and Yap Kim Hock's quest for an Olympic gold were denied by Indonesia's Ricky Subagja and Rexy Manaiky. They lost out a three set thriller to their nemesises. Having got rid of Lin Dan in the semifinals at the last Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 we all thought that Chong Wei could end our Olympic gold drought but surprisingly he choked in the final to yet another Chinese Chen Long and bowed out in straight sets. That year at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics we had three bites at the cherry for the gold in badminton but had to be satisfied with three silver medals. Our mixed doubles pair Goh Lui Ying and Chan Peng Soon were outclassed in straight sets by their Indonesian opponents for the gold and then Goh Wee Shem and Tan Wee Kiong were holding three match points in the final against their Chinese opponents but were pipped in the deciding set.And Chong Wei again for the third time had to be satisfied with the silver medal. So we should not be proud to be just winning silvers.Just look at Indonesia. They have won many gold medals in badminton and so does Thailand in women's weightlifting.Vietnam too won a gold at the Rio Olympics through their shooter.

I remember he asked Phelps to take part one more time, which is Tokyo Olympic next month.
Now he got Caeleb Dressel. Not only Dressel, there are other younger prospects : Kristof Milak (21 year), Mathew Temple (21), Michael Andrew (22) and Josef Miladinov (17 year) with good time record.
Where is he now ? I don't see his name in the top 200 list of 100m butterfly released recently on Fina website.
At WC 2019, he even failed to reach the semifinal (with only 52.93 sec).
No words
If you can beat a fish in swimming , you are nowhere a human
Yes
Schooling had a good race, but didn't Phelps win a gold medal right before having to do this race? Back to back races must be exhausting.
But this is OR too.
As a singaporean I did not think someone from our country would actually the Olympic
This guy is a real shark
Most elite sports person ever MP 🙏 🦈
Phelps is legend.Nobody can take his place ever. he is GOAT
His semi final timing was better than the finals itself. Had Phelps got sufficient rest before this event, Joseph would had to settle for silver.
Still this is OR.
Schooling just schooled everyone else! 😄
There is a reason why "Majulah Singapura" exists, and this is one of the reasons.
TH-cam just randomly recommended me this video after schooling lost Tokyo Olympics? Sus
Joseph Schooling is the Best😊
Amazing!
In London, Chad le Clos did the same thing. I wonder why he doesn't have such a video dedicated to him.
I wonder what happened for him to lose his form so drastically
I am still grateful and proud of Schooling for winning the gold at 2016 for Singapore. It's tough for most people to maintain or improve their form after 5 years.
@@huiling7947 yeah everyone is proud of him but he is young
We were expecting him to do the same this time as well
Family issues.
such a pity he fell off big time. it'll be virtually impossible for him to even medal this time round in the olympics
Yeap placed last this 100m butterfly heat :/
Why such poor performance?
@@ronaknanda6175 i think he's just not as committed to the sport anymore. he couldn't even qualify for the semis in the 2019 fina world championship. just look at his physique... getting a 53 in the heats is incredibly disappointing for someone who won gold previously to say the least
The speed is much faster this year. It is hard for a Singaporean to be a full time sportsman as the money coming in is much lesser than other country sportsman as Singapore market is so small.
Drink too much milo powder already
What happened to him now he finished 8th in heat
Family issues.
Tokyo 2020 olympics he swim last place. Thats a big shame
What an one shot, he couldn’t even qualify 5 years later.
Schooling is great but one win against Phelps doesn't define u as the best... Phelps is the greatest of all time
That is what you call a one hit wonder.
Phelps, the Best!
Why i cant find any video about ousama melluli beats phelps ?
2020 olympics? Where is he now?
And nobody remember who he was in Tokyo 2021. Maybe nobody noticed how much weight he had gained after Rio 2016, and how much slower he swam since that day.
El nuevo Michael phelps!👏👏
One hit wonder. He's now a shadow of his former self. Dressel has also taken away his Olympic record, at the same time setting a new WR that is lightyears away from JS's PB. Schooling will never come back. Tokyo 2020 has laid the final nail in his coffin.
He failed terribly in TOKYO 2020. Didn't even make it to finals. I was quite surprised. I wonder what happened...!
1:59 Chad Guy Bertrand LMAO
In short he Schooled everyone
Is this the Bomberman Hero sound track!?! XD
now Joseph Schooling be ready for the defeat from me
Eating pizza competition?
Jesus Christ is Lord God of all! God bless you all! Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is too difficult for the Lord our God, with Christ, ALL things are possible!
As Indonesian, im proud of you Joseph 😐🙄🤔
dude , why show that expression if you dont like it go support your own country
Kudos to him 🎉❤ but let me tell you phelps can lose only in this 100m event coz the margins are very less. Otherwise for 200 or 400 u can't beat him
As a Singaporean I would not be too proud because "that's always someone better than you"
How'd he do in the Tokyo Olympics? Didn't hear anything about him. It was all Caleb Dressel.
Not even qualified for Top 8 :)) Just a lucky winner in Rio 2016
Wondering where is he now
okay but where is the bronze medalist?
Amazing
Huge appreciation for this Asian Caucasian dude. Beating Phelp is hugely a great achievement indeed. Unfortunately, he couldn't retain his crown.
Then what happened to him afterwards???
Does anyone know the name of the track? It's so soothing.
Night Out - Tim Qiu
@@IIILATINOIII thanks so much, regards from Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico.
And then Dressel came along
yep, humble Dressel crushed proud Schooling, gotta love it! Caeleb beat this dude in all NCAA races, set the record in from of Joe, and then nailed it again in world champs (2017), 2 yrs later in 2019, Joe didn't even make the final! WR set by Dressel with a 49.50
@@yibambe4ever74 couldn’t have put it in better words, Joseph got too full of himself and Caeleb came around like it was nothing
Schooling got schooled by dressel
What matter is...he won an Olympic gold! Dressel is now the fastest swimmer but he can never take that medal from JS!
@@yibambe4ever74 Let alone final, he failed to reach the semi final with 52.93. He seems to be declining, or he peaked too early.
After all, he's just Schooling...
What abt olym 20? Where was Schooling?
Awesome 😎
And dressel came along
And in this Tokyo he even could not go into final round
Sadly, he got fat and finished 44th in Tokyo. Couldn't even qualify 😫
What a shame lack of professionalism and consistency.
The guy is finished by now
The recent comments from (mostly) singaporeans were rude.
Phelps was past his prime at this time, lol.
Ok stfu
Is he (not) competing in Paris 2024 Olympics?
Awesome. So cool💪💪👍
correct ... but once and once only while Phelps win how many and in how many Games???
Kind of wondering, where is he now? 🤔
Where is this guy now? I dont see him winning any medal this year😂😂
Not even qualified for Top 8 :)) Just a lucky winner in Rio 2016
Now Rio Olympic stadium is like trash and the organiser did not even fulfill their promise to clean the trash.
THE REAL QUESTION IS WHERE IS JOSEPH SCHOOLING IN LAST TOKYO OLYMPICS...DID HE GOT GOLD MEDAL IN TOKYO OLYMPICS......🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Not even qualified for Top 8 :)) Just a lucky winner in Rio 2016
he resembles that cost play guy on insta
Sodovnikov u will be the best too, but u should improve your stamina
Feeling pity for that russian guy always on the top during the split but fails to finish
shut up! schooling is 10 years younger than Phelps, if theyr same age/ prime it would be EASY for Phelps. Thats the fact!
Manny Pacquiao beat undefeated wba Welterweight champion !!... Who IS 10 YEARS YOUNGER . What's the excuse for that.. ?!!!!!.. it's .roses are red violets are blue . theres always an Asian champion than you
@@bigfezz178 watta idiot! Dont compared the boxing to swimming they are different sport. In swimming you need all your strenght in 3 mins time to win. In boxing the more u have experience, tactics till 12 rounds you win. Look at the olypics now in swimming youger always winning coz they have more enegy. Look at the sport history both sport.
