really good to hear Erin say she doesn't follow a strict diet. very important for young athletes, especially climbers, to hear that they can compete at her level without restrictive eating.

This is an interesting point because of the many cases of EDs in climbing due to the old fashioned light=strong mindset. However as many advanced climbers at the top levels have stated, we are nowhere near the peak of human performance in climbing, things like genetics play a role in climbing sure but could you imagine what chris sharma would be like if he followed a tailored training plan with today's facilities? Dave Mcleod talks a lot about nutrition and I think as we continue to push the boundaries of climbing, more regulated diets will likely become necessary. I mean Adam Ondra still drinks from time to time.

True, but for the amount of exercise she does yogurt and granola and two eggs with salad isn't nearly enough protein and calories. The pasta is good though!!

I think climbing is where road bike was like 10-15 years ago. The pros back these days didnt follow a diet. Now they do, it got more professional and there is more power now. I think in 10 years any pro team has a diet coach. And I wanna say, diet doesnt mean loose weight but get the perfect macros, micros and calories to get strong😊

always amazes me how perople like Erin, or toby roberts, who are really the best of the best in what they do, and they are the humblest, most quiet /borderline shy people to exist. If you saw them outdoors you'd never imagine how much of a beast they are compared to mortals.

I love how British climbers like Erin and Toby are the biggest fighters on the wall. In my humble opinion Japanese climbers like sorato and tomoa have greater use of flow and momentum but what gave Toby the edge in the olympics over Sorato was his ability to fight super hard to stay on the wall. 🤩Sick collab with Erin McBEAST!!!!

2:25 This transition had me in stitches and then the desperate "Throw it!" from louis to top it off. Great video everyone :) After seeing the video, It's so nice to see louis support, and coaching come out during the video. "less thinking more doing!" and she immidately tries to challenge at hand. Not to mention the beta on the black boulder. Really cool to see not only the knowledge of a coach, but the humility of Erin to still take advice from a 'worse' climber (not to call Louis bad, just not an olympian)

This is incredibly cool to get to see, amazing to get access like this to train with such an impressive athlete. Seeing the campusing part really blew me away - the amount of body tension and control Erin shows while campusing is just jaw-dropping. Every swing of the legs seemed like it was intentional and perfectly controlled, with no superfluous movement - and that ability to just *stop swinging* when she wants to? Amazing to see.
