Thank you! We have been and still are truly blessed. JC is at the center of our lives. The young man, brown shirt, in the thumb nail, now deceased, was adopted by my sister.
I don't think this way because I'm a pessimist or a depressed person, but I wonder which of these individuals is now dead, which ones no longer talk to each other because of petty BS, and which ones are divorced? Decades of talking to families and hearing there stories as a funeral director is why I wonder these things. I'm glad to see they open presents "the right way" handing out one at a time, announcing who they are to and from while everyone watches.
Interesting perspective you have but with life experience to go with it. I can tell you that there are three of my family in this video that are deceased, one was critically injured in an auto accident, none have divorced and all would very gladly look forward to gathering and would lovingly interact with each other should we ever get together like this again. We have been and are ndeed a very blessed family.
@@becky-in3tw Exactly right. We live in the moment never realizing that it might be one of the precious few that we'll look back on as having been among the best. I'm so thankful that my grandfather started the habit of documenting family with an 8 mm, wind up, movie camera. I continued it going from film to video along the way. Now I have hours of these wonderful records to edit and save, over 50 so far from 1940's and up. Many more to do. Blessings DM
Perhaps due to it being video with sound? Although that doesn't explain why my "Christmas 1976" has over 7,600 views. I don't have a clue. Most of my videos go unnoticed but I don't care as I'm doing these for myself and family. Thanks for watching though.
Thank you for your comment and concern. How did you come to view this video and what did you think was embarrassing? I use YT to create videos from a variety of old family films and videos. I'm not aware of a better or easier forum to use in order for my far flung family to easily access my videos. The choice of "visibility" is not easy to make to allow the best access to any videos. Perhaps you're familiar with the visibility choices and their limitations. I have many private and unlisted videos on my channel as well but we have a crazy/normal family that hasn't objected to the ones I make public...so far. It also confounds me as to why certain of my videos will have so many views while others are relegated to obscurity.
@@Dave-Maynard-videos I found it by scrolling thru' YT. I am not on facebook but I understand that many family members share photos and old movies there. What I find embarrassing is (I come from a crazy/normal family) that do they all agree to be posted for everyone in the world to see. Maybe I just am too private a person. I did enjoy seeing a wonderful close family at Christmas. I did not to mean to be rude.
Thanks for explaining how you came across my video. I'm still trying to figure out the dynamics of YT. I did not take your comment for rudeness but just the expression of someone, as you say, who is more private than we are. I'm very careful about my video editing to avoid anything that would be embarassing for a family member. We have always gotten along and I would never publish something that would be harmful. The most embarassing thing in this video would be the two guys with their gift shorts on over their pants posing as geeks. One is my son and the other is my deceased, nephew/godson. They would be the first to enjoy and laugh at themselves as they entertained the rest of the family. Blessings...
Your comment is what is embarrassing Karen, I mean Louise. You must be new to TH-cam because I see videos posted like this all over the platform, what a waste of energy that comment was.
No need to reply like this MissterX. She commented based on her perspective as did you. I appreaciate all comments and opinions and the opportunity to dialog with anyone. Be well...
Christmas with a family that all get along, and love each other... Now there's a novelty!
Thank you. We have been very blessed. Hopefully more frequent in our country than it may seem but just not recorded as ours has been.
Thank you for sharing a glimpse into the great decade that was the 90s!
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful family, wish they would adopt me!

This is adorable
You're very kind. We have been blessed as a family. JC is at the center.

We really didn't realize how good we had it

I wonder why this video did a lot better than Christmas 1984

Why would anyone post this other than to just family. How embarrassing for the rest of the family members. And to use names.
