In response to the, "Ghostbusters" question about Gozer; upon seeing her, Ray remarks, "It's a girl." To which Egon declares, "It's Gozer." Winston then says he thought Gozer was a man, and Egon replies, "It's whatever it wants to be." I think the embodiment of Gozer we all see was its estimation of a human being chosen best to interact with humans.
Egon says not to cross the streams because there's a chance that it could cause 'total protonic reversal' and all life would stop immediately. This is why they do cross the streams INSIDE the doorway to Gozer's universe, causing a catastrophe there but not in our universe. This occurs AFTER the summoning of The Traveller.
Originally Paul Reubens was supposed to be Ivo Shandor reincarnated as Gozer, but for whatever reason they picked the woman who I think was a European model to play Gozer.
They used the woman because Paul Reubens had a schedule conflict and couldn't do it. Which is a shame cause I think he would have been creepy as hell if done correctly
@Lightfooot true.. I thought something like "WTF? Why doesn't he get the knife? Any why is Mike not telling him too?" not even knowing the game before, nor the boss....

They remade this game on the original xbox on the "Capcoms classics collection" game. It's a lot harder than this version. The ai is smarter, no restarts at the boss, you only get the halfway point. However, one thing I like is how they fixed the hit detection In the remake. The hit box is a little off in the original version.
I'd love to see you play some classic DOS platformers like Abuse, Alien Carnage, Jazz Jackrabbit, Cosmo, Duke Nukem or any Commander Keen (Preferably 4, as that is the best one in my book)
Well the reason why I think these 3 would work well in a comicbook story is their common themes, 3 stories that happen in medieval/dark ages, all 3 use magic and all 3 have demons and ghosts, Mega Man has none.
From the Ghostbusters movie: *Ray Stantz*: It's a girl. *Egon Spengler*: It's Gozer. *Winston Zeddemore*: I thought Gozer was a man. *Egon Spengler*: It's whatever it wants to be. Seems like it was just a form Gozer chose. He/she/it could have chosen the form of a talking chicken if it wanted to.
Mike, there is a Saturn port of all 3 (Capcom collection). It's the arcade port of all 3. Would be interesting for you to cover that some time, especially Ghouls n Ghosts.
My personal favourite of the four main GnG games. But I much prefer the arcade version. The Soundtrack on that is amazing and the graphics are also alot better. Also the Arcade Version doesn't have checkpoints before bosses, instead just one in the middle of the stage like every other GnG game. One more thing. If you beat the Fly Boss on your second playthrough you get to fight a naked satan sitting on a throne afterwards.
Mega Man X on SNES has massive amounts of slowdown at times too, especially when you're riding those carts in Armored Armadillo stage. The best part is that they kept it in for the SNES Mini Classic edition
Ooo, the Genesis/Megadrive one, nice! This one's a great in-between on the consoles, like if you do a small marathon, fitting this between the original NES one and the original SNES one is absolutely perfect. On that note, I think there are actually a lot of interesting small marathons to be had by specifically using these three systems. On that note, just to gush a bit about gaming presentation ideas, I really want to see or even personally try this: Wily Wars on Genesis (that's Mega Man 1, 2, and 3 along with a new bonus Wily sequence), Mega Man 4, 5, and 6 on NES, then Mega Man 7 on SNES followed by Mega Man 8 on Saturn followed by Mega Man 11 on anything. Then, of course, MM9 and MM10 would be an encore for anyone who wanted to stick with the whole event, and the NES 1,2, and 3 as a bonus finale. This, to me, would be the absolute perfect way to present the classic Mega Man series to audiences who may not wish to actually play the games. I think the Genesis Wily Wars, in particular, is really underrated; it's a brilliant remaster of the original 3. It even fixed the Top Spin, making it go from being one of the worst to one of the best! :D Also, haha, "the toilet line" from Dracula! I used to joke about that, like, "brb gotta have myself a quick toilet". XD
The Master System version is really cool with the whole shop system and permanent upgrades, it sure makes the game a lot easier, but it doesn't make it easy.

There's also a version of this on the japan only PC Engine Supergrafx. That one plays and looks exactly like the arcade version. When comparing it to the Genesis title, you'll see difference.
whenever they play the Mega Drive version of a game that was also on a Nintendo system I just brace for all the "oh it's not as good as the nintendo one" comments from them
I love this game. Played it I don't know how many times as a kid, good times, and super music! And to comment on the music, the way you have a level music and then a variation on the level music with the boss music is cool practice.
The dress part of the Alamo story is true. His drinking was so out of control that out of desperation, Sharron hid all of his clothes so he couldn't leave the hotel room while they were on tour in Texas. He wound up putting on one of her dresses and went out and got shitfaced then stopped to take a piss but didn't realize where he was pissing when a cop spotted him.
Am I the only one who finds the main theme song in this game especially on genesis to be very "stabby" very sharp and scary sounding sort of reminds me of thrillers synth sounds too. I love the way it sounds on the genesis it's a bit slower sounding too tempo-wise. I think it's spookier. Also I thought that version of Gozer was the last form that it took because that's how someone must have imagined "the destructor" would look like last time.

I love your content but I don't want to see you burning out because of it. I'd prefer James and Mike Monday's to be fortnightly if it helped. 😊
I agree with what you say
The sword you throw... Also known as the dagger lmao
About time! Next time play Gunstar heroes please!
I made a comment about that on the Super R-Type video they made. Go check it out! I was one of the top comments
That game sucks.
@@mr.smr.s4653 Wow stfu you hater
@@mr.smr.s4653 You must be a strictly nintendo fanboy for you to say that lol
Mr.s Mr.s
It’s a great game maybe you don’t like it but “sucks” c’mon!
There's also a version of this on the japan only PC Engine Supergrafx. That one plays and looks exactly like the arcade version. When comparing it to the Genesis title, you'll see difference.
whenever they play the Mega Drive version of a game that was also on a Nintendo system I just brace for all the "oh it's not as good as the nintendo one" comments from them
Ghouls and Ghosts never was on a Nintendo Console
@@TheBLBShow he meant SUPER Ghouls and Ghosts
Lol I do the same
Ugh, i do too.
They’ve gotten less biased over the years as mikes played more genesis
I love this game. Played it I don't know how many times as a kid, good times, and super music! And to comment on the music, the way you have a level music and then a variation on the level music with the boss music is cool practice.
I could listen to James talk about Dracula trivia all day
Regarding why Gozer is a bubble lady; they address it briefly. "It's whatever it wants to be."
That was Gozer's choice I guess.
Definitely much more 'fun' than the original. [Ben]
That NES one can suck itself. Beat it legit having to do it twice in a row on the Wii.
OHMYGOD!! Count Dracula BBC with Louis Jordain! I can't believe James knows about the most faithful adaptation of Dracula. It's a must see for Dracula fans!
