The parts list for the gun has been added to the description box. Check it out if you want to know if you have enough pieces for the job. On a side note Im pretty thrilled to be learning and familiarize myself with my video editor. Although the process can be frustrating the payoff of seeing a finished video is quite pleasing. I'd love to hear any feedback you may have regarding my edits- by no means am I a professional however Im eager to improve! I’m so happy you’re back into this. I’ve known you aince 2010 and this was the epitome of instructables back in the day - the coolest community was the knex community imo. Hopefully we can revive it and bring knex back into kids hands
Me too. Our old community had its shortcomings however ultimately it was a great experience. I do remember there being so many great builders back then… Everyone held each other to the highest standards and expected the most out of each other’s builds. I’ll be building regardless of the state of community and I’m glad you’ll be here with us.
We are happy things went well and that officers weren’t called in to clear out the parking garage. Some of the looks we got from bystanders made me think I’d be bailing everyone outta jail the following day haha. I’m thinking of staying clear of public spots for future videos. Thanks for your suggestion on helping to clean up that mag. Even if I wasn’t able to layer it up, it led me to replacing that older design.
Wow, there’s too much to say about this one… First off, a cinematic take on knex guns is something I never knew I needed, but now I crave more haha. The model itself is beautiful, so many creative uses of the pieces at play and it’s stunningly accurate! And of course, the MP5 is awesome. You nailed it, I’m so glad to see you making videos again man! (Like plenty of others, I was a huge fan of yours back in the day. Finding your channel again was really exciting 🙂)
You really are too kind brother. I’m glad to be back and for the guys like you who’re still interested in the hobby. I’m thankful I have a friend group who are eager to help make my so called “vision” a reality. I hope to someday be in a position where I’ll be able to help treat them to more than just a late night out/dinner. Mp5a2/4 is a brutal gun to get cosmetically correct. I’m glad this one turned out on a good note so that H&K enthusiasts can enjoy it.
I could barely make the scorpion smg. I built it a couple of days ago works decently well. Also your videos got me into knex again. Your the only person who makes good builds.
Hey I’m glad to hear that you made my skorpion and that it worked out well for you. That gun took me longer than I thought it would to build. I appreciate all your kind words and I’m stoked to hear that you’re building again! Can I expect to see some of your future builds?
Hey BM! So I just made this and it's freaking awesome. I love the build quality and I love the sights. Mine doesn't shoot for some reason. I built it with the micro parts as well! Also I love the cinematic, it's very clever and creative. I bet it was hard trying to bring those black guns In the parking garage. Amazing job as usual Mullet. Your builds get better and better every time.
I’m stoked to hear that you made it and yet puzzled as to why your gun doesn’t work. I always ask but did you make it exactly to the instructions? Both my metallic and standard colored mp5’s work wonderfully well. Some thoughts: This gun is “optimized” so the ram needs to be the one shown in the instructions so it reaches the bullet. I’m also thinking your mag may not be feeding the bullets in at the correct angle. Does your bullet pusher have a hinge on it?
I’m obviously pretty happy with how it turned out. It took me around 8-10 hours spread across four days to edit. Slow learner mixed with a complex video editor and you got a recipe for disaster.
@@QuestionableActivites Filming a small series has been a huge goal of mine. I absolutely love great stories, characters, world building, etc… I already have an idea of the story and how to incorporate K’Nex into the plot. This is only an idea and would be a long ways out if it were to happen. 007, Jason Bourne, John Wick, Mission Impossible are some great movies!
@ Scar’s are tricky as there isn’t a good spot to put the pin. The problem is that it won’t reach the bullet. That is of course unless you put it in the cheek rest; butchering the looks of the gun. Best of luck with it! Would love to see it if you finish it up.
Sounds like a plan. I’ll have the parts list up for this MP5 sometime this weekend. Let me know if you have questions or encounter any problems along the way!
Thanks Gabe! I haven’t messed with these “pseudo” semi autos as they had a rather bad rep from many older builders. I have an idea on how to nicely set one up and yet ironically I cannot get one built that I’m happy with.
@@bluemulletknex I'm personally not a fan of the ram rod thing. It's a big waste of kinetic energy. Your pistol design was great in that sense. Something in that approach I think is the evolutionary step!
@@greenman717 I’m sure you’re familiar with the infamous Turret Rifles and the Not A Rectangle? Many people have managed several hundred feet with these pin guns and fin ammo. I thought these stories and videos were all tall tales until KillerK himself sent me a TR8 Pink edition to test. I think that saying the ram rod system is a waste of kinetic energy is off the mark. They’re still a solid choice of firing mechanism to use on K’Nex guns even if the idea is extremely outdated. With that said I totally agree with you on repeating slingshot mechanisms being the future. They were something that the old K’Nex gun community strived to achieve. I remember just how vocal guys like TheDunkis were about this topic back then. Although the RSP-5 and HK417 are repeating slingshots they don’t push the mechanism to its fullest. The RSP-5’s slide is weak and too short. It couldn’t handle a strong rubber band. The HK417 uses a hair band which isn’t going to be as strong as #64’s or #117’s. I have a new repeating slingshot mechanism that LucasTheBoss has helped me come up with. It should be able to push the mechanism much further than before however I have yet to get one set up nicely. These are my takeaways. Id love to hear more of your thoughts! Always a pleasure talking with you- you’ve got a great mind.
@@bluemulletknex One build that was on my mind was a repeating slingshot lever action. Like a Henry Rifle. But again; that'll suffer the same issues as you've mentioned - not being enough of a stroke to really get the optimal velocity. The projectile needs a push not a hit. I might in fact have a go at that since this AK build is driving me insane and it would be much more simple lol. I only remember yourself and KillerK, such a long time ago and I was never part of the community, just lurked. I do enjoy K'nex though because to do anything complex is incredibly difficult, if this was Lego it would be a piece of cake.
Aww man I’m sorry to hear that. Maybe if you cannot order more then try to replace the hinge with ball sockets if possible. My next gun will be small and I think you’ll be able to build it.
I think you’ll be happy with my next video. I’m starting to get my voice back and am all around feeling better from this virus. Hoping to get around to do some filming.
If I were to wipe all audio from the video I could get it uploaded however I don’t want to do this. It has crossed my mind to rebuild with the purpose of making instructions but I didn’t think any would attempt to build it.
That video doesn’t even show how to build the thing so I’ll probably just leave it be. Someday I’ll rebuild it and make a 1hr video covering instructions for it haha
