    If you can’t customise your faces. Uninstall from extension manager and your file destination. Then reinstall it from sketchucation, then into you extension manager. It worked for me

    As always, nothing less than amazing. All of your videos are incredibly educational. And your SketchUp course is worth every penny. Do you have any videos about creating those custom profiles? It seems like it should be pretty simple but it always takes longer than I think it should and as with most of your videos I'm pretty sure there's a more efficient way to do it than I am currently going about it.

    What about curved edges?

  • @iamscoutstfu
    @iamscoutstfu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Justin! Is there a way to populate an object that has surfaces but not "edges"? I've noticed my sketchup has begun extruding some faces without edges included on the newly generated faces, So a way to repopulate the polygon with edges would be very useful.
    Also, have you experienced any bugs where your model undergoes an extreme transformation for no apparent reason, such as a few edges moving instantly to a distant point in the build space while you work on a different part of the component or even another component entirely?

  • @christiankrause3273
    @christiankrause3273 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Quality video as always, thanks a lot. The plugin is also really helpful and does many things better than the native follow me tool. Will use this quite often in the future. The only improvement I would wish for is a better was to follow a curve. If I am not missing something I would, if I were to follow a curve made of 60 segments for example, have to click one by one on each segment, resulting in 60 clicks... I did try to weld the segments already but that does not do the trick. I would love if there would be a faster way to do this...

    • @majidmahmoudi4024
      @majidmahmoudi4024 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right it is a bit difficult to do some curve follow me. but on another hand, this extension is base on following your mouse pointer, not following the path. I don't know how can I solve this paradox. any idea?

    • @christiankrause3273
      @christiankrause3273 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@majidmahmoudi4024 Hey, and thanks first of all for your reply. As well as for that awesome extension of course. As I said before, a daily SketchUp user I really do appreciate it, thanks. As for your question: I am no developer and have absolutely no technical background so I don´t know if anything I could suggest has technical value, but I will try non the less with some ideas. 1. The native SketchUp follow me tools allows to preselect a path and the follow me does then follow that path when the icon is clicked, maybe some kind of preselection could work here as well? Or some kind of special selection with which you first choose a curve and tell the plugin that this is a segmented path with x-number of segments and each segment has y-lenght... 2. Another idea would be, as you mentioned that the selection does follow the mouse pointer, to do something similar as the Path Select Tool of the SketchUV plugin does. WIth that selection tool a path can be selected by hovering oder the individual segments with the mouse curse (without clicking) that would follow the same principals in my opinion but would speed up the process significantly. Best regards, and thanks again. Please keep up the awesome work.

    • @majidmahmoudi4024
      @majidmahmoudi4024 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christiankrause3273 Both of your ideas are great and also possible to do. Another idea can be the autoselect points. Press a key and move the cursor above the curve or object and curve or object points automatically added. When we release the key everything will be the same as before. I will do my best to find a solution to this problem. Thank you so much for your ideas.

    • @majidmahmoudi4024
      @majidmahmoudi4024 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christiankrause3273, You can automatically add points in the edges by pressing and holding the "x" key. Edges can be in a line, path, curve, edges of a face, edges of a group, or edges of a component. Also, you are free to move from an object to another one by click on it.

  • @georgenikas1219
    @georgenikas1219 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like the Maj-Follow Me tool. Could you not use this to make a wall? Can you make a 1" x 12" rectangle and change the scale? I have to trace of As-Built drawings from a DWG file and this seems like it would make it easier to make a wall.

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could. For me it's not as easy as just drawing a profile and extruding it, but you could if you wanted to I guess

    • @georgenikas1219
      @georgenikas1219 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Thesketchupessentials I agree when drawing from scratch, but if you are tracing a drawing it may be easier especially over a PDF since they skew a little sometimes. Cutting holes is easier than some of the other wall extensions too. At least how I am using it.
      Thanks for the video's though. They have been great for speeding up my learning curve.
