*If you're curious how Cory plans on "cycling" his new aquarium, here are his thoughts on cycling vs. seasoning a fish tank: **th-cam.com/video/mbD1l9_Osks/w-d-xo.html*
These are the videos I enjoy most- the slower, relaxed paced just hanging out in the fish room. I rewatch the old daily dose videos frequently which I feel they’re a type of vlog style you don’t see too often anymore.
Yeah, I think you're on to something here Cory, All the info is informative, sure it's a lot to take in at one time but as a NEW fish owner or existing one info is crucial to ones benefit in making sure you have crossed every T when it comes to setting up aquarium tank. Remember we all can come back and gleam for your input, and info. at any time...Thanks, Cory, Well done faithful servant.
These kind of videos with Cory, giving tips, diys, doing maintenance, testing products and theories; these are my favorite. It’s kind of like the livestream where You can do work in your tanks while also listening/watching. I like the other special topic videos too, I still watch them, but I definitely think these kind of videos are what keep people like me, who aren’t beginners, coming back to the channel.
I love this type of content. The other videos are great and everyone likes a top ten video, but there are so many of them out there. Watching the work happen in the fish room, you get to see and learn things as they happen. You really see that time is important and things don’t happen overnight. You also get to see the imperfections and mishaps (cut thumb), which ultimately inspire me more because it shows that what I am doing and those imperfections that I have are not failures and they even happen to the pros so to speak. I really like the direction this is going and look forward to seeing more like this.
Definitely my favorite kind of content! I’m kind of over the “Perfect Fish for Ten Gallon” or “Top Ten” videos that everyone demands lol. It’s been done over and over. These vlog style are much better and remind me of “old TH-cam”? If that makes sense? Anyways, not to sound cheesy but if you do what YOU enjoy, I think it shows in the video and makes the content better no matter the type. Great video Cory! Thank you for sharing.
Since you asked, YES. I think it is really important for larger channels, regardless if they are vendors or not, to show the reality of fish keeping. Crystal clear aquascapes are inspirational to see but the "gee, can I do a thing?" videos are superior teaching tools. I learn from them. Occasionally I pump the brakes before embarrassing myself. Occasionally, validation that what I think will work, was right. Carry on!
Loved it! Appreciate you’re willingness to be real (as you always do) with us. Too often social media is polished so much real life seems inferior.. -keeping it real at Aquarium Co-Op!
I love this style of video. Like you said, it is hanging out in the fish room with you. No high pressure I hope, because to me it is relaxing and informative at the same time. Reality and I learned stuff. It doesn't matter how old we are. We should keep learning. I have been keeping fish for a long time and don't consider myself an expert. A long journey with lots of turns and detours keeps things fresh and exciting. It isn't the destination it is the journey. Every new leaf on a plant, every melting leaf, even feeding is part of the journey. I have left frozen food out on accident too. Not to the same scale because I have little fish, but I felt the same way. Like you, the money I spent on it was not as big a deal to me as me wasting food. I am looking forward to the new air pumps. I was getting ready for the same Christmas storm you had down in town last week. I went through some old fish stuff and found an old battery powered air pump I got years ago and never used. It takes 4 C batteries haha. Who has C batteries any more? Still it was somewhat of a relief to have it. Lucky I didn't need to use it for this storm. I hope I don't have to before I can get some of yours. I have some of your heat packs already so I don't have to go through so many hand heaters under the blankets. I need those hand heaters for shoveling snow 😄 Hope you had a great vacation. You guys deserve to have fun. You give us so much of yourselves and I for one appreciate all you do for us fish nerds. You, your wife and your crew have made my fish-keeping more successful and more fun!
This is exactly the content I like. Showing CO2 methods, planting techniques, fertilizing techniques and reasons you are doing so. That is to only name a few things. This channel is the main channel I look to when having issues or needing to know why I am doing something a certain way. I appreciate all your time and dedication to this channel, it really has been a huge help and inspired me to get my whole family involved in all 20 of our tanks. Thank you Cory and crew!!!
This is exactly the content that I want to see. It's much more fun to watch you mess around in the fish room than doing something that everyone else is doing. Plus it keeps you in the fishroom which I think is important to the longevity of the channel. Cheers and thanks for the videos!
My husband is new to aquariums, so these videos are something he loves because he understands what I do when I have set up a tank. Super excited about air pumps. I live in Florida, so those would be awesome for hurricane outages
Please don't change what you are doing for TH-cam ... this video represents the content that I enjoy the most from you. No top 5 or top 10s are necessary unless it's something you thing would be useful and WANT to do. Thanks for the great content!
These are my favorite kind of vids from the creators I follow. Talk about the knowledge your brain finds interesting/exciting/beneficial and opine all over it. I’m here for it. “Won’t even clean up my mess today” I felt that statement in my soul lol
YEA!!! I felt that statement too! 🙌 The realism is what I like best because we all know having a fish tank isn't a perfect process. It's a pain-staking heart wrenching and fun learning process. I want to see the lows and the highs!
G'day Coopy. I hope you are starting to enjoy your fish room while vlogging. I missed this format. It's how I started watching you. You and Lamont live streaming. Thanks for hanging in there.💚
Cory, I personally want to watch any content that you enjoy making. I haven't seen a video of Aquarium Coop's that I didn't enjoy. Thank you so much for sharing your fishroom with us!
These fish room videos are by far my favorite, Cory 👍 I love learning the random little tips and tricks, and watching you try new things. I enjoy being a part of it all (and I don’t even keep fish!)
Another quick note: The TOP 10's show me the pain staking work that was taken to get it to that perfect TOP 10; it shows me THE END RESULT & HOW MUCH DID I LEARN? Nothing usually. I like to see others struggling, learning and teaching me how to, why to, what to, when to do the things our fish and tanks need to be survivable!!! That's the key survival, not perfection.
"Day in the fishroom" or "fishroom project" videos are the best! The other videos (top 10s and the like) are still good, but fishroom videos keep my attention more. That's how I originally found your videos many moons ago. Back in the cinder block and 2x6 days.
I have always enjoyed your more conversational videos, the little tidbits that you share are the best part. This is what I love about the fish unboxing too. It's not seeing the fish, it's what they go with, what to be aware of etc.
I like the hacks. Back in the 80s we used pvc for everything in the aquarium. Pvc became filter extensions, caves, decoration, water input, etc. I could get some off cut it into pieces and seal them together for clown loaches. The project would be only a few bucks. I guess I am a younger diy dean.
Hi, I really enjoy the videos of the day to day activities & upkeep of your fish room. It’s always a bonus if Dean is over helping out, the both of you are entertaining. It keeps us occupied during the long cold Canadian winter. Thanks for the videos.
19:32 Yes, I like you showing us what REALLY happens during the "process" NOT always the PERFECT tanks. When I see perfect tanks and parameters all the time it makes me feel like a bad fish momma. Realism is best. The good, the bad, the ugly and the boo-boo cuts too! Teaches us to beware that things may be sharper than they appear. THANK YOU!
I love the Top Tens…they’re like the Cliff Notes-version of this hobby: videos to watch, take notes on & make lists from. Videos in THIS format show the process, though. The time-factor, the $$, the work, the patience (& I’m glad you showed the blood & mistake: I’m not the only one, nice to know). The Top Tens will always be out there, & I love them. But I really like these too. It tempers the impulsivity in the hobby, is a nice reality-check.
I definitely prefer this kind of video--where you show things, talk through what you're doing/why, etc. and hear you nerd out over fish. Top 10 stuff isn't my thing.
These are the kind of videos that I like. It’s always interesting to see people working in their fish rooms. To see how they set things up, do maintenance, and various shortcuts and money saving tips that they’ve learned. A person can only watch so many top 10’s, unboxings, and product reviews and stay interested.
I enjoy the slower hang out videos. I like the fast-paced information videos as well. But I like to see how other people do the hobby, and it helps a lot.
YES! NERD OUT WITH ME! I'm the fish and reptile at my local small business pet store and I am a hobbyist myself, I've been watching your videos for years now and always enjoy learning from you guys. Give me all the nerd, plant, bacteria, poop, care guide etc videos ya got
My favorite videos are the ones where we feel like were there with you just hanging out and talking fishtanks and doing projects etc. Not the highly edited professional videos. Loved this video style alot! Keep on tankin ❤
This was a good video. I appreciate the education portion, the product info, and the "silliness". I am an old fish keeper that left the hobby for a number of years and getting back into it. Your videos are helping get me reoriented in the hobby. Thank you for all you do!
I definitely enjoy these types of videos you put out the most feels more behind the scenes and normal life of the fish room and when you seem the most happy and enthused with enjoying your hobby .
Yes, make more videos like this. When you share your vast experience and expertise in a casual offhand way, it's much more relatable and relevant to how we handle our own aquariums. Thank you!
I continue to thoroughly enjoy the fun-tasic content provided by you folks. As I find it to be hands-on, non-sterile, and most importantly informative. Feel free to keep the real in the discussion and viewing content.
Doing these real aquarium videos is awesome cory. Keep it up. It's nice seeing these real videos! For me personally, maintaining the aquairum is my favorite part so I could watch you work on your tanks all day LOL
Totally loving this content, Cory. I am coming back to fishkeeping after many years away and so much has changed since 30 years ago!! I am focusing on planted tanks and learn so much from AC videos. THANK YOU!!
I still can't believe the quality of education that you provide for free here on TH-cam... so invaluable! I definitely watch and enjoy these kinds of videos as well as troubleshooting or "little bit of everything" videos where you talk through the status of multiple tanks. Thank you very much for what you do! My favorite part... "see that bubble riiiiiight there?" :-D
Long time viewer and subscriber and I love the simplicity approach to aquatics and seeing the work that goes into it. So many people view aquariums as a chore when I try to talk to them about it. I've bought plants, hats, stickers, and more from you guys purely because of the great content and quality of the products. I would love to see some Dean breeding tutorial videos where we follow along with him to learn and demonstrate the "proof in the pudding" of breeding various species. I feel like we talk a lot about plants, water cycling, and water management/balance. We don't often talk about species breeding in depth or plant propagation in depth. It would be fun to me (and I'm sure others) to learn more about. Maybe a video about creating equilibrium in your tank for less water changes or needed products. Much love to you and the co-op family. Tickle Murphy's belly for me!
The hangout videos and deen videos are my favorite. Love the balance this channel offers. I don't own a business but I also enjoy those videos. Anytime I can learn something new I am down to listen.
Really enjoy the video demonstrating practical tips in action rather than just talking about them. I'm definitely more of a visual learner so these videos are right up my alley.
Yes, this is the content I like, and yes I saw you move the clams when showing the lights and thought "if that was me I'd probably forget those clams there". That said, a few years ago when I was newer in the hobby, I watched a lot of "top 10 something" videos.
Love the video. Cruising around your room pointing stuff out is a great way for beginners like me to be exposed to new dynamics of the hobby. This style of video seems like a better way to start conversations.
said it multipal times and i am saying it again... i love the videos with just u in your fishroom. Nerding out, Teaching, Thinking, Planing ... love it all
Another great one, keep them coming. 30 minutes is just perfect we get to hang out, have a nice little break and then we want to go play with our tanks too! Have a good vacation.
Cory, I think it's great that you're willing to give honest critiques of yourself, your businesses, the hobby and the FishTuber community. That is why I will listen to your 2-hour plus live-streams and essentially none others in the hobby lately. The world can easily survive without yet another Top 5 Aquarium Hacks video. Safe travels.
I love this type of content! Getting insight into how other hobbyists do things is one of the best parts of social media and I think this video is a perfect example.
Yes, more of this!!!!!! This is real life. It can be frustrating to see videos where it's all perfect and then you try it and end up spilling tank water everywhere. Lol. This was an awesome video. My favorite kind! Thanks for aharing
Good stuff Cory, With what people are saying it's all relevance and in terms of their execution of a project. I can't thank you for all the great tips you've provided us. for efficiency and a better life for fish. Love from NZ from a Gourami and Guppy crew.
Hey Cory, I wanna say that these are my FAVORITE types of videos. Keep up the good content! This gives you a more like real perspective of how the hobby happens.
I do really think these are the kinds of videos I like the most, where it's showing the real side of the hobby - the part we experience in the day to day, not just the results of several weeks or months or years of work. It's really enjoyable!!
Just reinforcing that this type of video is great! Real talk, real work in the fishroom, I love it all! I appreciate you and all the work and effort you put in!
Corey, I enjoy this kind of video. Keep it real and in a timeframe I can watch. I would like to watch your 2 hour plus Sunday videos but don’t have that kind of time. Love the work you are doing bring good products and good education to the hobby.
I love this style of video. There’s always something you say that I learn from and helps me become better at the hobby. It help keep my passion alive to see the daily stuff you do and small changes that make a big difference.
Feel your pain on the clams. In the past month I did the same thing to a sheet of bloodwords AND a sheet of krill. Did it the exact same way too. After spray painting some new tanks, I was waiting to dry and I decided to feed some tanks, but then I realized one of my internal filters was really, really clogged so I decided I needed to take care of that and did, but then it sounded like it was about to start raining, so I ran back outside to make sure the freshly painted tanks weren't getting wet and start moving them back inside. By that point, the frozen food I had left next to the tank with the clogged filter was completely out of my mind. I'm just glad I had them both completely zipped closed. Can't imagine what they would have smelled like the next morning when I realized what I had done. I just wish I could say it was the first, or last, time I ever did that.
YAAZZZZ! Another working in the fish room chitty chat video. Nerding out on duckweed and fish poop, lol. Dean cracks me up...one taco later... Merry Christmas Cory and Katie. Love ya'll. 👍💖👍
I'm sure a "Top 10" style video gets more views but these types teach something so much deeper. It fits with your philosophy of helping people have the most success with their hobby
Yes! More like this would be nice. The highly produced videos are always good and top tens always get the views. But it is nice to just hang out. You get to relax and just be yourself and we get to get to know you a bit more. 🙂
Been around a while, and I have always appreciated the shared attempts of experiments or ideas. The hopes for them and unexpected results at times are what roped me in back then, and the goals or concepts you share in between are a good listen while brainstorming or working on projects. I hope to see and hear more from you, be it a video like this or the livestreams. Merry Christmas.
I love these types of videos showing more in depth info and the help on the hacks you're able to come up with. Learning new things from you and others every day.
Cory, I love this type of video. It's nice to see the actual set up of a planted tank. I always thought you needed to remove the rock wool and NOT just plant in the substrate. As always you have taught me something new. Kudo's. Also just bought 3 100w heaters and LOVE them. Thank you.
Yes, definitely make more videos like this Cory. I've been working for a few years on my plants. I'm trying to get my water just right for the plants I have. Thanks for your knowledge 👍
I love these videos!!! I can watch all day long!! I especially appreciate the “before and after” vids!! I love love love seeing progression!! Thank you!!!
I personally don't think I've purposely watched any top 10 list, except for the Letterman show... I'm a much bigger fan of y'alls style of providing great information...! Thanks for another GREAT one...! Keep it up...!
Yes, please make more everyday type videos. Take us on the daily journey, and we always learn something. The top 10 videos for the new people sets them up for failure. For the experienced people we just grow tired of the click bait, and run out of content to watch. Loving what your doing Cory 👍 Merry Christmas ⛄🎄

Lol!… crap!! I just said the same thing then saw YOUR comment. I suppose I’m in good company. 😊

The only thing better than this video is a video with you and Dean doing this stuff together!
Great video, do more like these. Actually working on your tanks and what works for you. Fantastic info !
Hey Cory, this is exactly the type of Video I like to watch 👍.

sorry it cost $30 in clams
I appreciate the 'failed' hack. Seeing what doesn't work is often more important than seeing what does.

This is definitely the video style i love to watch from you. Elmer looks great.
24:33 I love the hanging out style of video. Keep these coming.
These are definitely the kind of videos I love watching from Aquarium Co-op!!
Yes, this is the content I look forward to. Real tanks and store operations. I also love to see the new products. Thank you Coop!
This is the exact content I started watching for. Back in the old fish room.
Yes, more of this!!!!!! This is real life. It can be frustrating to see videos where it's all perfect and then you try it and end up spilling tank water everywhere. Lol. This was an awesome video. My favorite kind! Thanks for aharing
This is my absolute favorite kind of content. Thank you for guiding us through!!
I love watching you in the fish room. I feel like I get so many more little details that way.
This is exactly the kind of video I'd love to see more of. I never watch Top 10 videos. And I love that the title wasn't click bait.
Please keep making more of these friend. I just started and this really opens my eyes to what is possible in this hobby. Keep it up!
Love this content! Looking forward to watching the new tank progress.
YAAZZZZ! Another working in the fish room chitty chat video. Nerding out on duckweed and fish poop, lol.
Dean cracks me up...one taco later...
Merry Christmas Cory and Katie. Love ya'll.
👍💖👍
I really enjoy this video of Cory working in the fish room. More than any top ten videos
I'm sure a "Top 10" style video gets more views but these types teach something so much deeper. It fits with your philosophy of helping people have the most success with their hobby
Keep going in this direction being real helps us know how to enjoy our hobby and it doesn’t need to be perfect.
Yes! More like this would be nice. The highly produced videos are always good and top tens always get the views. But it is nice to just hang out. You get to relax and just be yourself and we get to get to know you a bit more. 🙂
This is my favorite content to watch…that and your informal chats with Dean😊
Been around a while, and I have always appreciated the shared attempts of experiments or ideas.
The hopes for them and unexpected results at times are what roped me in back then, and the goals or concepts you share in between are a good listen while brainstorming or working on projects.
I hope to see and hear more from you, be it a video like this or the livestreams.
Merry Christmas.
OMG...Elmer and the wafer....🥰🥰🥰 That was a great shot!
Yes, this is the kind of video I want to see ! Thanks, Cory!! 19:49
A fomat that is informative is the format that I enjoy. I like to learn more every day.
I love these types of videos showing more in depth info and the help on the hacks you're able to come up with. Learning new things from you and others every day.
Love this style of video. Perfect feel of just hanging with your friends in the fish room 😁👍
This is exactly the content I like to see, hanging out in ones fish room 👍
Cory, I love this type of video. It's nice to see the actual set up of a planted tank. I always thought you needed to remove the rock wool and NOT just plant in the substrate. As always you have taught me something new. Kudo's. Also just bought 3 100w heaters and LOVE them. Thank you.
I love this style brings me back to seven years ago when I found Cory on TH-cam and he got me into the hobby again
Yes, definitely make more videos like this Cory. I've been working for a few years on my plants. I'm trying to get my water just right for the plants I have. Thanks for your knowledge 👍
These are definitely my favorite videos that you do. Loved your old day in the life vids, still rewatch them;)
I love these videos!!!
